the VR6 isn't the smoothest of idlers..........and does have a little burble at idle too........and i sometimes get what appears to be it missing a beat.........but it doesn't appear to be something to worry about
-
here's some more off redcorrado's site
-
though i think other than the dusty mauve of the campaigns its the khaki green ones that are quite rare and ice grey violet is another rare colour
-
Is that Campaign rare or Storm rare or not evan as rare as any of the above? Mr Kippax reckons the colour is rarer than the storms...............not sure myself :?
-
same old story....bet it was a penalty

right if you want to get a chip then i can wholeheartedly recommend AmD in Bicester for this.......i had mine done in April this year and you notice a difference straight away with the driveability as the engine pulls a lot harder to the rev limit......now the only thing about getting a VR chipped is you won't get a huge BHP improvement maybe 10-15 BHP and torque goes up correspondingly too....maybe even slightly more.....my before figs were 180.3Bhp  :( and 177.1lb/ft  :( .....then my after figs were 193.9Bhp and 195.4lb/ft :D :D ok so its maybe only a 3Bhp improvement on the "book" figs but 13Bhp and 18lb/ft gains aint not too bad for under £300.........what i was told also was that RR figures vary from place to place so was'nt too bothered about what little gain i had on stock figs...at the end of the day the car felt better to drive
-
got this from redcorrado's site
-
GPC do them for approx £45+vat too
-
like everyone else has said dazzyvr6,try and keep it away from being an insurance job...........even if you said that someone reversed and drove off it still counts as a "life" off your NCD protection also parts costs should "only" be about the £300 mark(wing from 8vG60 and lights from VW) so surely fitting and paint and other sundries will only take it to roughly the £500 mark or just over.........now unless your XS is really low like say £100(even then I would try and get it done without claiming) then keep it out of the insurance
-
mmmmmmm tunnels and VR6's loverly 8)......aural sex at its best

understand that glen.........what i was trying to put across to brian was that its a spring that is made for BMW either by themselves or by their O/E supplier........and FK use/modify the BMW-spec spring........ok i didn't make that point too clearly on reflection, but my little birdy who told me about it in the first place seems to have it on good information fair point we are both looking childish here  (and in other posts/threads)but would you take some of the snide comments/remarks from brian that i've had........i think not........ok i've given him back some but not to the extent he has given me
-
thread locked as requested

Jeez Skid...that's high milege. I only have 15,400 on my 1993 VR6....and a FVWSH to boot... I also doubt it will ever rack up any more miles in it's present state! LOL...........you forgot to mention the roof-chop Glen     LOL

do BMW make tv's.......no Rolls-Royce you'll find are not one big company now but are owned by and in partnership with various companies and yes...........u are wrong
-
so tell me then why would BMW make springs if it wasn't for their cars or M/bikes
-
Yeah, but a coilover spring is a much slimmer design to a spring on a std. car and have different properties. BMW's aren't renowned for their stiff suspension as i'm aware, my mum's feels fine at least. so they use a different type of spring. They are possibly re-wound. But if Koni do it and its bespoke, then if FK do it why isn't it? In the latest Venom Ads they have the FK's priced higher than the Koni's and on their site class them as the best they sell. I dont care where their springs come from, they do a bloody good job of doing what they do. FACT. brian.......i haven't said/implied the koni kit has "bespoke" springs btw( and yes neither did u.....but its the best word to use).........but you think that cos FK has a different part number for each application that they are "tailored" to each different car......then again if they are dearer they must be better and yes i do know that the spring is slimmer  so is your mum's compact is the only BMW you've been in then?i would imagine going by the fact hers has wheeltrims, normal bumpers and not factory alloys its doesn't have the M-tech suspension(316i compacts could be specced with the sport pack which consisited of M-tech suspension, sports seats and alloy wheels.....also by the time your mum's one was on the go the M-tech bodykit was included)..........you should drive a 318ti sport and then drive your mum's back to back then

vr6storm replied to corozin's topic in General Car Chat
auld gitte and founder member of the portly squires section of the CCGB too(which i must admit i'm the scottish branch member) so how you doing john?.....nevermind about your bournemouth meets...........u coming up for xmas to jockland?   -
Sorry Roody, i didn't realise that BMW fitted coilovers to their cars. no but they do fit springs don't they? .............what i was saying is that FK use a BMW spring(well so i'm told by somebody well-informed) not a BMW coil-over kit(if they do make such a thing)
