  13. must admit BIG wheels really suit the Cayenne...........absolutley hated them in the mags etc prior to them being launched but after seeing a few in the flesh in Aberdeen have got right into them, though did see a non-turbo one with the standard wheels and they did look very lost in those arches and have seen one with BIG alloys and it just looks awesome BTW is that an Audi A6 i've spied in the "Grant" driveway????
  14. jims16v,shilakkaddy and sefton...................try driving a Ford Ka before you write them off as "girlie" cars :x ...........my wife and i bought one "brand-new" back in 1997 just 2 months after they were officially for sale........i was the one who thought of the idea of looking at them too btw,so far its been the only "new" car i've ever bought, and i would buy another one(in fact my wife is on her 2nd one) if i was looking for a "cheap to run" new car that also has a good fun-factor too, these cars handle pretty good standard so they must be pretty sublime with decent suspension mods,as for the StreetKa i must admit i like them(wife's dream car too btw)same with the "new" MINI(nearly went for a Cooper when they first came out) and MX5

  20. don't worry........i work part-time for Europcar Scotland and we have the 130bhp PDi Golfs on fleet at the moment, and over certain stretches of road the "oil-burning" Golf does seem to feel a bit more rapid than my Vr  :? .......but at the end of the day they are just a "common" Golf and don't have the style of the Corrado, you have to remember too that there's is quite a bit of newer technology with the current breed of TD's over the older design of VR petrol engine, everytime i drive a TDi golf i'm impressed, but not to the extent that i would sell my Corrado for one
  21. some more info here btw:- http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=260
  22. Nah, a better noise is a turbo'd 4 cylinder when it comes on boost and the rollers struggle to keep up with the road wheels  The noise a VR6 produces is very over rated in my opinion. A BMW 6 sounds 10 times better and a Chevy big block V8 better still :D Kev blimey Kev.....you really have a "downer" :( for your VR6 lately mate  .............not as near as keen on the bmw 6's note over the ur-quattro's 5-cylinder rumble/burble 8)
  23. hehehehe......and if its your VR on the rollers the hairs stand up on the back of your neck   8)
  24. AFAIK the golf vr6 radiator will be a different size/shape and i'm afraid only VWCCGB members can get access to the VW parts club site you should have the "infamous" coil-pack on your age of VR,so by the sounds of it,its started to play-up(btw this isn't subject to the recent "recall" that VW have ongoing) i have a modded airbox with a K&N panel filter in it and it gives just about the same noise as an induction kit......i'm in Cove bay so if you want to have a look at the modded airbox then just drop me a PM on here.........also there is a club-gti meet at the "brewers fayre",bucksburn this sunday at 2pm-ish and a few of us Corrado-owners will be there, you are more than welcome to come along and say hi as for alloys, well if its the original speedlines that you are needing refurbed, then if you PM ess_three(also in aberdeenshire) on this forum he has 5 completey minted speedlines for sale for around £250(no tyres)these have been refurbed(by Coatech,Carnoustie) to a very high standard and 1 was "brand-new" and the other 4 were off a 17k mile "write-off",cos otherwise you could be looking at spending near £50 per wheel getting your existing ones refurbed
  25. ah bringing back memories of when i thought about buying this for my 83Y porsche 924 lux........it was £120-ish back then in 1993 too newcorradoowneryou should try checkpoint in aberdeen to see if they can still get them as i seem to remember it was checkpoint who stocked them, tho this was when they were situated in rosemount place before they moved to george street
