  2. pretty sure the Lindsey Porter manual only covers the 16-valve Corrado
  3. nip past your local VW dealer and order some caliper bolts as you will more than likely need them too..............and the rear pads......you'll find the piston "screws" in rather than pushes you can get a tool for doing this to save you hassle have alook at this thread for further details too:- http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... sc&start=0 also if you are replacing the rear discs you are as well replacing the rear wheel bearings and/or the abs rings
  4. fair enough dazzyvr6 just bear in mind that buying the "best selling" kit doesnt mean its the best kit available......you pays your money and all that............just my £0.02p's worth........not saying the koni coilovers are the best kit available either btw.....they were for my budget..........seemingly the bilstein coilover kit is the daddy of them all.........with a big price too tho :shock: btw whatever you do,fit new top mounts at the same time

  6. no some of the standard ones have twin exhausts from the factory too also bear in mind that ALL MR2 turbo's will be grey imports so parts can/will be pricier than the UK-supplied ones you should also bear in mind too that £2k-£3k ones will probably be needing some cash spent on them as well

    ecotek valve

    i think its only the 1.8 16v thats mechanical fuel injection urs is AFAIK electronic Fuel injection..........as for re-setting the ecu i'm not too sure if that would make a difference to the ecotek or not
  8. AFAIK andi, you have to remove the gear lever surround to see which socket you have
  9. also another way to tell if the clutch is going is.........park,put handbrake on,select 2nd gear and raise the clutch pedal.....if its good it should stall straight away if its bad then it should still keep on running but won't move at all.....remember not to use the throttle at all It must be well f**ked to do that.. :lol: James[/quote:4f5ad] very true :lol: :lol:

  11. 1)they do come ready assembled,well the spring is on the strut and secured 2)providing you have a decently stocked tool-box you don't need specialised tools......the kits should come with height adjusting spanners and damping adjustment knobs(if they are height adjustment only they'll just have the spanners).......tho a metal rule(measuring the ride height) and trolley jack would also be essentials.........would make it easier for you as those wheels will be on and off like nobody's business 3)no you shouldn't need a degree...............even i was amazed at how relatively simple it seemed to be to fit.......didn't fit them myself just assisted* my mate glen as i'm kack-handed :oops: :roll: *-passed tools and raised and lowered jack :oops:

  16. You only recommend fitting a new filter to the stock induction kit? Have any of you heard anything about Neuspeed's P-flo induction kits? They seem to be extremely popular over here in the states. Cheers. sorry alex,its just what i've fitted to mine,my airbox has also been modded too with the superflous plastic insides(inc snorkel) removed and the inside also smoothed with a bigger aperture too........i had this done prior to getting the exhaust fitted and it made a notable difference in throttle response and of course gave a nice induction roar :lol:

  18. yeah they should be bedded in by now..............i've still got them on their softest settings tho :oops: haven't got round to tweaking them yet as i'm still exploring the handling limits just now :lol:
  19. agree with kev there about doing the suspension first...............you'll be amazed at the transformation a good quality set-up will do to your handling

  21. right alex it also all depends on how much you want to and can afford to spend i did the following to mine in this order too btw and costs are in £-sterling K&N panel filter....................£30 diy fitting Milltek cat-back exhaust........£330incl fitting AmD rechip..........................£300incl fitting Koni coil-over suspension......£640+fitting and geometry as for wheels i decided to get my originals refurbished.........but wheels are all down to personal taste
  22. sorry alex,what i mean is that the ABV coded engine has a displacement of 2861cc (2.9) and the AAA coded engine has a displacement of 2792cc(2.8) all this is down to is the cylinder bores being bigger with corresponding pistons
  23. yeah all the VR6 engines look identical as its all down to the ABV coded engines having bigger bores
  24. you should have the right engine as the stateside VR6's are all 2.8ltr AAA-code engines...............also,unless it was an american thing :? ,the engine cover should just bear the legend "VR6-DOHC" no mention of which model it belongs to,tho i have seen some Golf VR6's with "2.8 VR6-DOHC"on the cover btw if you were over this side of the pond you would really have to have the 2.9ltr ABV-code engine otherwise you would feel short-changed :shock:
