its just a tad slow tho
  2. i'm with jims16v on this i'm afraid..................not my taste at all.....i just think its too much "confused styling influences" but if your happy then fair do's at the end of the day its your money/car/inclination..........though like jims16v has said it does look like good craftsmanship

    lumpy start

if you can give us an idea of which engine you have fitted, it might help everyone give you some pointers

    16v vs VR6 MPG

i was getting about 32mpg down to gti-international last year mainly 80-85mph M-way driving btw moving this into common corrado questions
  5. the only thing that would worry me is the fact that its been for sale for so long tho
  6. i somehow doubt this guy would be able to change(supply & fit) the spark plugs and air-filter for less than £40,and as the VR isn't tweakable(other than a chip change, cams etc).....exactly what does he reckon he can do for your £40........just my £0.02p's worth
  7. or do what i do jims16v.........fill up when it hits half a tank then its only around £25-£30 per hit thats between 150-180 miles a week  BTW AndyVR6 thats a nice VR 8) you've got there once you get the suspension lowered it'll look even better
  8. no they were never MADE in P-reg......just some were still un-registered when P-reg came about, afterall Corrado production was stopped the month or so before N-reg came out
  9. ok here is a guide for all you non-storm owners or people who are prepared to pay "premium" prices for a couple of badges now i'll make this very clear now...........as much as this may seem that i am slating the storm model i wouldn't change mine for anything, but it really amazes me how people will just limit their choice for the stormover a sometimes better-specced/better condition non-stormVR..........i too did just do that when i was looking for a Corrado VR6 but i landed lucky and bought mine at VR6 money ok here goes Bodywork/exterior mystic blue paint(stormonly) or classic green (both pearl effects), colour coded grille(if its the original grille only the botom slats will be open, chrome Corrado,VR6 badges(front and rear), Storm badge to rear(in red), 15inch "BBS" solitude alloy wheels(BBS or VW centre caps) 50mm front lip spoiler(tho this AFAIK was a 94> change and is not exclusive to the storm) Interior storm badge on centre console(in place of Karmann badge) black heated leather seats(mystic blue) or beige heated leather seats(classic green) both standard VW sport-seat design, all door cards also with leather & "leatherette" black dashboard(both models) black plastics, carpets & parcel-shelf(mystic blue)biege plastics, carpets& parcel-shelf(classic green) Sony CD-tuner Full electrics Mechanicals/Engine/Running gear etc nothing  just the same ABV VR6 engine found in all the other VR Corrado's,likewise suspension and gearbox Misc. only available from APR 95>(M,N & P-reg)last one built will have been built in JUN/JUL 95 there will be no mention whatsover that it is astorm in the log-book either A/C wasn't standard or a factory option either.......just a dealer-fit/aftermarket option and of the total run of 500.....250 were of each colour and (not 100% on this one)10 of each colour were available as automatics
  10. what you have to remember too is that merc E320's are putting out about 220bhp in standard trim and of course oodles of torque, and also the majority of them will be slush-boxes so their in-gear acceleration can be quite devastating even considering the fairly hefty kerbweight that they carry........though i would have thought you should have had the edge on a standing start then again considering your engine probably is not as efficient as it should be(no intercooler etc) and also the 93> E320's performance figures are Mercedes E320 auto....autocar road-test 30/06/93 top speed...................142mph 0-60...........................7.0 secs 30-70(kickdown).........6.5 secs 50-70(kickdown).........3.9secs(to give you an idea...thats 0.2 secs slower than a Mclaren F1    )

    To fit A/C ?

only 2 storm colours were available........mystic blue(storm-only colour) and classic green(available on other Corrado's),both were pearlescent paint finishes......the mystic blue storms had black leather while the classic green ones had beige leather(both heated),all storms had a colour-coded grille and BBS "solitude" alloy wheels, storm badging on the centre console and on the rear panel and a standard-fit sony cd-tuner.......in total 250 of each colour and included in that were 10 or 20 auto's(can't remember how much)...........NO MECHANICAL DIFFERANCES WHATSOEVER though as for value due to the fact of their "limited-edition" status and the fact some well-known journalist told everyone to find a storm and lock-it up in a garage as "future-classic" car status beckoned maybe helped too being a storm owner to be perfectly blunt and honest there are better deals to be had on non-storm leathered up VR6's(sometimes even higher specced VR6's too.......such as elec recaro interior and H/light washers etc),also most if not all Insurance companies class the storm in group 19 versus group 18 for the VR6........though i wouldn't want to sell mine

    WET air filter

are you sure its "wet" with water or perhaps oil?

    To fit A/C ?

contrary to popular myth storms never had A/C fitted as standard......some did get it "after-market" fitted sometimes even thru a VW dealer(that normally contracted it out).......but no RHD UK-spec Corrado ever came out of the factory with A/C fitted as standard best idea is see if there is/are any A/C fitting specialists near you and see what sort of price they would charge.....if of course they would be prepared to take on the job
  14. could well be...........mine is still proudly displayed
  15. it shouldn't affect your insurance....unless you have special conditions on your insurance of course that say otherwise
  16. well i'm pretty sure the original gordini(non-turbo) only had about 93-ish bhp......so your 5bhp up  though the gordini turbo had 110bhp so your 12bhp down
  17. sort of......its actually the clio v6's predecessor.....in that it was mid-engined RWD with big-bhp.....well back in the early 80's 160bhp was alot for a "hot-hatch"
  18. just watchin never say never again on the box.........and just remembered how much i wanted the renault 5 turbo2 that was in it........way back in 83/84 tho............of course i wouldn't refuse one now
  19. the last Corrado's were made in approx JUN/JUL95 and were on sale for the next year or so.............the latest i've seen one is on a P-plate so they were still kicking about over a year after they were made
  20. i think its 94 or 95 onwards C's that have the smaller front spoiler(what you have to remember too is that a lot of the 90mm ones have been replaced by the 50mm's ones to update the front of earlier C's) and as for the VR6 front spoiler......you'll find that they are meaning the Mk3 Golf as to my knowledge the C VR6 didn't have any visual difference(apart from the badges and 5-stud wheels)over the 8v and 16v of the post92 facelift
  21. well if it was mine i would get the following done(unless there was documented evidence of this being done prior to you buying) Timing belt(Very important and only use a genuine VW belt), Oil and Filter change,(genuine VW filter too) new spark plugs, new fuel filter, new air filter, coolant change.
  22. i'll just leave it in then..........3 oil changes in less than a year is pampering the storm a bit too far ........but cheers for the advice/help supercharged it were reet proper bo
  23. stop being so Bloody lazy then tom   .........get yerself off Fraggle rock and into the real world  ........where we have speed limits :(
  24. cheers for the info steveo29.............though 1L in 3k miles(near enough 5000km's) is actually good going for a VR  .......in the handbook it says that 1L per 1000kms   is within tolerances.......for some reason the VR uses more oil than the 16-valver or the G-60...........
