Is basically a G40 engine with a G60 ported blower strapped on. The 'Full blend' thing came from a pissed up conversation a few years back when Frode, a norweigian guy on this forum was staying with us before GTi international. We were chatting about a ported charger pushing stong boost pressures, Frode said 'Like a strong coffee' I said 'ye, like a full blend'... We refered to a ported charger as a 'full blend' as a piss take for a while, but now people seem to take it as a trade name as they would a R1 etc. Have numerous people per week call and ask for their chargers to be full blended..

Ye.. LOL .. Rammi is pimping about in some big 4.2 Audi now!!
-
LOL.... Used to hate them.. love them now.. Barry Snap-on hose clamp tool saves the day every time.
-
The number scribed on the top of thhe charger is a VW batch number of the unit and would have been there from the factory. Jabba/BRM stampt the casings on a flat section just behind where the topshaft chambers protrude on the charger. Welcome to the forum.

Henny was on a mission yesterday.. like an exciterble child.. LOL.. A very animated Henny emptying his boot of his tool kit and then running off to sign on to run his car upp the strip. Really good day had by all.

What's their address & phone number - I'll add this info to the "reccommended garages" section  Do they do SNS chips too ?? http://www.midlandvw.co.uk/ Jody can supply the SNS chips and our pullies aswell yes.
-
One oprion that may be more convienient to yourself to avoid a long journey down to our premiesis is the option of using 'Midland VW' in Cannock who are a PSD/G-werks agent. Obviously the work cannot be carried out in a day as the charger has to be couriered to us to be serviced, but Jody who runs Midland VW is a very compertant mechanic who can remove/refit the blower and carry our chip and pulley mods.

LOL.. I spend about £400-1000 a week in our VAG dealership.. I'm hooked.. I have to order a part per day at VAG or else i feel hard done by.. luckerly our customers feed my addiction for my love of the service counter.. There is somthing satisfying about getting a OE part outta a VAG box and fiitting it.. Ohh ye.. plus there is a horney saleswoman in the dealership that looks like 'Shell' off big brother so going in to order bits is a goood excuse to perv.. LOL

Blown touring engine = blown touring engine!!!! The VR was designed for chilled n/a buring... boost and VRs don't get on.. or do for a short while until they, kill a piston ring, head gasket, etc etc...

How much was the motor? I'd be inclined to sack off the complete OE fan and housing and fit a nice reliable, neat and far more efficent Facet unit, they are about £70 for a 9 inch jobbie.

Pinking (Sorry I know it's an old topic)
beavis replied to C. Will Corrado G60 2's topic in Engine Bay
We have no end of hastle with car that come in equipped with adjustable FPR's. The majority do not work under vacume conditions and the rate they control the fpressure of the fuel vs manifold presure is not linier. Have you done a fuel pressure test. At 3.5bar you should be getting 35-38psi on idel. 65-70 psi at WOT and it not backing from the maximum displayed pressure as you increase to near the redline. There are quite a few fuel pumps giving up the ghoast of recent. If you have a weak pump it does not matterwhat you set the max fuel pressure to on the FPR it will not reach it as the fuel pressure is beeen govenened by the weak pump. -
The G80 has been discussed on German forums, the same way that there it is here, speculation. It was supposivly a companion charger to a 2.3 engine. The G60 was streching the original G40 design past the limits if the truth be known. We have had several 150k unserviced G40 units in which have a tenth of the wear of G60's. The concept of a g80 may have been well and good, but the practice I think would have ended in disaster after a few thousend miles. We have lots of information unpublished, but routed out via varios means, uopn the G60 and G40 charger. Only ever heard rumor, but never seen anything to document a G80 in any incarnation. There was a G50 charger though!!

I'd have to agree with John's view on the springs. They do sag and become fatigued after many years of use. I was fortunate enough to buy my Polol G40 last year off a very anel German Porsche mechanic who had recently replaced all suspention bushes and had brought a brand new set of standerd springs for it from VAG. He showed me a picture of the height difference of the new and old springs, quite eye opening. It is then you come to realise that Corrado's and the cars from this era handle pretty well, even compared to new technology, it is just that many cars have been neglected in tearms of suspention components. A new set of suspention bushes etc can rejuvinate a car.

LOL... Plenty of kit for 1k can be had. A nice oil cooler would be a good addition. But as Darren says, do call as indepth quotes for work on forum threads do not look the most professional.

I hear the Shell station in Crawley is going into recivership as a certain forum memeber has not been spending their usual £150 a week for their hit of optimax to feed their boost addiction. For some reason :?:

A fine purchase... The unique handcrafted coachwork of the Corrado will leave you questioning the build quality of your R5 for years to come....The supercharger will leave you pondering to how you put up with that turbo lag charicteristic of the Calibra for so long while you are sweptt along on a wave of torque. .............But proberbly you won't be wondering this at all...just ragging the living life outta ya new motor enjoying it to it's maximum potential... Rag it .. but also maintain it regularly and you should have years of trouble free motoring.

[G60] Toothed Belt Systems - Spoilt for Choice!
beavis replied to scottgroovez's topic in Engine Bay
The next batch of pullies that are being machined for us will have quite a few detail changes to them. The crank pulley as mentioned will accept the PAS damper with no need for modifacation, we will be retaining our rose jointed static tensioner design, some pullies will be extended, the bolt on guide tensioners ommitted as they proved not to be necessary and a little bit of overkill on the original design. All the pullies will be hard anodised black using a industrial anodising process, it is possible to get cosmetic anodising in other colours, but i'm afraid we will be sticking to the Henry ford philosophy of 'avalible in any colour as long as it is black' as we prefer the duribility of the industrial anodising. There are quite a few G60 kits that have covered many trouble free miles. With regard to pulley wear, we have 47 G40 toothed belt systems knocking about the UK and europe which have covered a very high cumerlative miles with no issues with pulley wear. I spoke to a guy who has covered 35k miles now on his G40 kit. He is on his second belt, but no other issues. Other detail of our pulley system here http://www.pitstopdevelopments.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=684 -
Glad your happy Stel.... You forgot to sign the speeding disclaimer form though... We wavier any responsibility to gettig caught at high speed!! LOL
