Hmmm, maybe a letter to the Insurance Ombudsman might be an idea?
-
Interesting... be nice if they could spell emissions though... ;)

Glad the boys got it all sorted, must have been a true friend who recommended them! ;) I'm just glad you've got your faith in the car and the scene back mate, welcome home! -
A call/visit to The Phirm might not be a bad idea as they're not a million miles away... http://www.thephirm.co.uk

Gunk for driveways :)
-
16s if you want 9" width, otherwise 7.5x17 tucks nicely under the arch... :)
-
Cool, well I have a wide body (no jokes please ;)) and ET35, so I reckon I should be ok! Just have to hope there'll be anough clearance for coilies when I can afford them... :)
-
true... though if your cat bypass looks externally like a cat, and it passes the emissions, how are they going to know...? ;)
-
 heheh, cheers buddy! dave the wheel ho strikes again... Jay, what's your effective offset on the 'vette rims with the adaptors? You're running a full wide-track, standard VR setup aren't you?
-
Actually, according to Henny, who I had a bit of a chat with about this, cars after August '92 (K-plate onwards) don't actually need the cat - they just need to be capable of passing the stricter emissions tests for cars with cats. If yours can pass without a cat then you're laughing...
-
How bad do you find the ride with the reduced height of the sidewalls Jay? I wince every time I hit a pothole... (I do avoid most of them but sometimes you have no option!)
-
Right, pic request time! Who's running 205/40 on an 8.5" rim? I need pics to decide whether the stretch is going to be too much or whether I can live with it... The wheels are 8.5" ET35, so they're gonna be close on a VR with no archwork anyway! 205/40s are just cheaper and more common than 215/40, and that bit of stretch and slightly lower profile may help with clearance... Cheers!

Can I fix my heater control box or is it an ebay job???????
gradeAfailure replied to gus16v's topic in Interior
Thermal fuses/resistors are only about 80p from Maplins - for the sake of not overloading the circuit if the motor's on it's way out, I'd rather replace a fuse... ;) Though it might be that the metal strips behind the fan speed knob aren't making proper contact - that's what it was on mine... As far as the temperature goes, if your passenger footwell isn't flooded (heater matrix gone/bypassed), then you may have an airlock in the cooling system Not that this has been done to death or anything! -
Which Corrado Engine do you like best?
gradeAfailure replied to soupie69uk's topic in General Car Chat
and the debate starts... welcome to the forum mate - you'll find that the "G60 vs. VR6" debate happens on an almost weekly basis, so have a search and see what you find! Personally, I have a VR and love the lazy power of it - but then I've not actually been in a G... Don't write off the 2.0 16V either, as with the KR (1.8 16V) inlet cam fitted they make the same power as a standard G60... ;) -
Looks like the 'rat might get saved! Opinions..

It's got a 2.0 8V 2E engine... though things are still a bit up in the air! Should know what's happening with it soon enought hough... :) Cheers for the offer of help, i may have to bribe you with some beers on that score... -
As taken by Rob aka Musicman but I won those OZ 17s, so once they arrive I might actually finally start a Member's Gallery thread...!

Yup, I used a pressure bleed kit on my sis's Pug - works a treat, so you might want to give that a go... :)

Feel like taking a sledgehammer to the car!!!
gradeAfailure replied to Bojmobile's topic in Interior
You need to take the whole instrument binnacle out of the car otherwise it's just not possible as there's screws on the back of the main pcb that hold the screens in, that you can only get to with the pcb out, which you can only do with the unit out of the car, as the connector plug on the back plugs onto the main pcb. Why couldn't you unplug it? -

Yeah, how far did you actually get? Did you get the instrument cluster out of the car or not?
