Thinking of buying a mk1 Golf cab - advice please
gradeAfailure replied to Phil K's topic in General Car Chat
Been looking into this and I don't think any RHD Mk1s came with PAS, not even the Rivage... Sorry bud, looks like Claire's going to need Popeye arms to park! -
Heheh, I'm so glad someone decided to take the risk, and look how good they look!
-
yup, scarlett and i met on here, peanut and M15 VW both have/had Corrados, and there's a couple of other C-owning couples on here as well..
-
I thought it was 500 sets...

Hey, America got an actor as President and another one as Governer of California - Clarkson in the government isn't as daft as it sounds...
-
VW reckon that gearbox oil is for the life of the vehicle... hmmm... Wouldn't say it needs doing as often as once a year though...
-
Use the Silkolene stuff that oilman sells, it's great... :thumbleft:

New Car Time - My hand has been forced Alfa here I come!!!!!
gradeAfailure replied to Blue_Joe's topic in General Car Chat
Alfa, any day - just look at it! -
Ah, you mean a phenolic spacer, right? It's a spacer made of phenolic resin which is a non heat-conducting material, and it fits between the head and the inlet manifold, so it stops heat from the head being transferred to the inlet manifold, which prevents the inlet air being heated up as it passes through it. :)

Nick, did you not get my text message? My local machine shop can make custom ally spiggot rings... :)

Few nasty surprises when stripping my C's interior
gradeAfailure replied to gsbellew's topic in General Car Chat
look at it this way - you only paid for one car but you got 4! seriously though, that's nasty... -
for 9x16"s you want ET15 on a 4-stud, so yes, they'll fit.
-
you could always take the wheels to a machine shop and have them take the centre bore out to the correct dimension if they're ones you really want?
-
same as all VWs of that era - 57.1mm
-
considering that i met my girlfriend (scarlett) on here, i'd say that the rado is no more a bloke's car than it is a girl's... in fact, she's more into them than i am!

Phil K's old C and others - new German Coupe!

useless boy... ;) looking good though bud! -
Doesn't Dave Yates build bikes...?
-
Extra?! Jeez, if I'm paying £80 minimum then you'd be bl00dy taking my wheels off for that!
-
So, all you guys who do this detailing, how do you do the inside faces of the wheels?

How many forum members plan on NEVER selling their Corrado?
gradeAfailure replied to godskitchen's topic in General Car Chat
Meh, I said I'd never sell mine, but it's now up for sale (well, when it actually gets a wing on it at least). Never say never... Plan on getting another one though, when funds allow! -
The 14"s are the common ones, the 15"s are rare as rocking horse waste product...
-
Depends where you're advertising it - if it's somewhere like here or E38 then possibly the 17s; if it's somewhere more mainstream like Pistonheads or Autotrader then definitely the Speedlines. Remember though, wheels are the main way of personalising a car, so personally I'd leave it standard and let them change to what they want.

Should be 1H6 919 930 X then mate... That part number replaces 1H6 919 035 F as far as I can tell. It's for a 140MPH, MFA-equipped, ABS- or 2E-engined Cabby, 1994, up to chassis number 1E-R-040 000. Sound right?
