  1. such a shame the production Brera doesn't look half as good as the prototypes (imo)... I still actually stand by my 350Z comparison - ok, so it's rwd, but they're both V6 and both about as rare... are we talking about direct comparison (shared platform, same engine/drivetrain layout), or "spiritual" couterpart - which is based more in terms of image and general aura of the car...?
  2. R32 wheels are 5x100 but 18", so they'll be a struggle to squeeze under...
  3. Yeah, otherwise the fan speed switch is slightly different, as you mentioned in your previous post...
  4. Get ones from a SEAT Toledo of about '95/'96 with aircon and they'll be exactly the same as the Corrado ones, no need to swap bits over - plus they'll be red illuminated...
  5. Give The Phirm a call on 01428 608480 - Tim's currently converting a VR from auto to manual...
  6. Actually, I really really like them on red... 8)
  7. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/vie ... uid=988726 scroll down the column on the left and it shows all the diagrams for how to make one... :)
  8. You can get it from Motorworld shops across the country (just say no if they try and sell you neons though!), and it is pretty damn close in colour to the red lower sections. One can will do all four clusters with 8 or so decent coats as long as you're not spraying the lower half (which you shouldn't anyway...) ;)
  9. if you haven't already, replace all the suspension bushes, uprate the brakes, replace rubber brake hoses with braided, replace all the metal lines, and DOT5.1 fluid... Then make it go faster... ;)
  10. heheh, no, got a flying bug stuck in the last layer of paint but i think i managed to get rid of the marks with the w'n'd 1200grit before i did the clear... cheers sciroccotune - no, never done any bodywork before at all...! sprayed the odd badge or grille, and a couple of sets of rear lights but that's it... tbh, it's got a new wing going on in a couple of weeks anyway - this was just an exercise in seeing if i could do it really...! right, where's that beer...
  11. meh, it's a bit windy here at the mo so it's got a few bits of dust in the clear, and now that it's painted it highlights the fact that it's not perfectly smooth... do i prefer it to the primer - yes! am i actually happy with it - well, no, not really, but hey...!
  12. Bit of an update! Seeing as I'm off to Cornwall for the weekend, decided I was fed up of the primered, "work in progress" wing, so took the afternoon off and painted it... This is after three coats of paint and two of lacquer...
  13. and don't spray the bottom half or you'll cover up the reflectors and thus be illegal... ;)
  14. and from a camera phone, no less... ;) see you know you were right to keep the Cups...!
  15. yeah, i'm going through the same dilemma at the mo, having seen a mk3 with the wheels that i'm going to use, i'm not so sure about the style now... damnit!
  16. my personal view is: porsche badges on porsche wheels are okay, because the wheels were made by porsche - however, porsche badges on the car would be wrong, as would "Stuttgart Edition" badges (if they existed!), because the car was not made by porsche. hence, i personally don't agree with Wolfsburg stuff on Corrados because it was never made there. however, that is only my personal view, and hell, if you wanted to put Ferrari badges on your car ;) then that's your choice and only your own opinion should really matter... :)
  17. isn't it your right to have your car returned to the condition it was prior to the incident, regardless of what the insurers want to do? i believe someone posted something to that effect a little while ago - and i think there was a case that set the precedence for that... either way, good luck, and fight them all the way!
  18. ET-25 by the looks of it! first car i've seen where the tyre scrub is 10mm inboard on the tread, rather than on the sidewall! heheh... looking sa-weeet tho Gav...
  19. Right, to bring this back rather than start a new thread ;) - can the mk4 288mm calipers be used with the mk3 golf 288mm carriers? if so, are spacer washers needed, or is this only if you use the mk4 288mm carriers? basically, for 288mm brakes: mk4 calipers + mk3 carriers + mk3 discs = no spacers needed/not possible? mk4 calipers + mk4 carriers + mk3 discs = spacers needed? mk3 calipers + mk3 carriers + mk3 discs = no spacers needed, obviously is that right?
