  1. I always thought that they were reserved for cars whose age or history couldn't be accurately determined - stolen/recovered, kit cars, imports and such, all fall into that category...
  2. I'd definitely buy one, even though my car wouldn't be in it!

  5. If worst comes to worst you could always get 'em machined down to a 33mm offset if they needed bringing in frm the arches...
  6. According to my Haynes manual, the Passats used the 02A cable-change box... No idea about ratios though!
  7. Yeah, am watching it right now... Though some people do go a bit far with threatening with knives and guns and stuff though!
  8. From thesamba.com: "OKRASA an acronym for "Oettinger's Kraftfahrtechnische Spezial-Anstalt" (Oettinger's special automobile technology) or what the Germans called "tuning" in the early 1960s."
  9. Same thing used to happen on my old ZX - even used to carry a length of wood around with me to place on the starter whilst i clouted the other end with the wheel wrench!
  10. Yeah, BBS in that condition are a thing of beauty, mmmmmmmmmm!
  11. I managed to get through on the number that's on their website - the tech guy did say they were moving workshops at the time so that could ba a reason for the lack of response, so probably worth trying again now!
  12. You will be able to get a new remote from Scorpion - I phoned them about a month ago regarding mine and their tech guy said they're about £30 - but at least it'll be an official Scorpion one... 8) Can you PM me a pic if you do get one cos I'd like to see the replacement remote before splashing out £30 - mine works fine; I just want a more modern-looking one!
  13. Rayvern Hydraulics do air kits as well as hydraulics - think that's what doublezero's got...

  15. I may potentially have a set of four 195/50-15 Avon ZV3's up for sale soon if the 17s I've bought actually fit without rubbing! The Avons are supposed to be very quiet, and these have not been fitted to any wheels yet... PM me if you might be interested - I'm in Surrey btw 8)

  20. Home audio speakers are 8 Ohm impedance whereas car speakers are 4 Ohm, meaning you need less power in to get an equivalent output on the car speakers compared to the home ones... :) And as they're not designed for that particular application, they probably won't sound quite as good... Other than that, no reason why you can't use 'em - I used to have two home stereo speakers sat in the boot of my first car (Nova!) with no parcel shelf! Budget!
  21. Yeah, if you can't get the Borbets on then those AEZs are niiiiiiiice... 8)
  22. doublezero's done it - pix here none of the install that I could find though! does look the nuts... 8)
  23. Oh, I'm more than happy to just use the wheels figure, but it seems that no-one else likes doing that as it's never as high a number as we're used to seeing!
