    Speedline 16"

Was going to suggest some team dynamics pro race 3 but seems they only come in 15" and 17"
  2. very nice, must get round to sending one of mine off.
  3. I've always managed to get mine to -1 with standard bolts etc
  4. If they did a corrado one, the letter would only make it halfway and the letter wouldn't open properly
  5. Here's the new daily, Fitted the MP215 (corrado still feels faster to me), fitting some mountune lowering springs next week. Corrado is back on the road these days as well. Had it polished and ceramic coated a couple of weeks back
  6. Wonder if it could be head gasket related. Coolant is going down with no signs of leaking. Not sure what else to try at the moment. Will vagcom it again see if anything shows up. Spose it could be bad fuel, i did fill it up and then problem started about 6 miles later. Just don't fancy fitting the new engine and still have the problem when trying to run it in.
  7. Just moved the car, has made no difference, still running rough :(
  8. Yeah it was the same sound I've heard from coilpack shorting out. Like a small click type sound. Only noticed it yesterday as i had bonnet up and engine running when i got out of car. I'm not getting my hopes up though. Can see it still doing the same tomorrow
  9. Yeah but more clicky than ticky. Pulled the ht lead off this evening and found the leads on cylinder 1&3 both had splits. Not in the lead but the rubber part that joins to the socket bit on spark plug end. Think I've caught them with the removal tool at some point. Refitted the old beru leads, (they don't seem to have the same rubber bit as the bremi ones, so probably a better design imo) Not started car too check it yet, but fingers crossed.
  10. Not much of an update really, been a bit slow as bought the Fiesta ST and busy spending money on that. Managed to get some schimmel cams now and just waiting on a guy thats making me a crank pulley locking tool. Then i'll be able to get engine all assembled. Still not sorted out the dodgy running, tried plugs, coilpack, maf, had ruled out the HT leads as they aren't very old, but going to try changing them next i think (kept the old ones which were fine when i took them off). Started the car at the weekend and thought i heard that noise of something shorting out so hopefully its a lead.
  11. You can use the AFP block with the corrado inlet etc, the blocks and heads are the same as the AAA and ABV, think its the cams that differ though due to the variable inlet on the AFP. And i think the AFP has an EGR system which can be blanked off.
  12. should be cable tie clips along the top of the bulkhead area, all the wiring fits into those
  13. Found some photos from mine, not sure if it helps

    VR6 engine parts

Noticed this on ebay, decent price, when i was looking for one they were all around £50 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Mk3-Golf-2-8-VR6-AAA-Crankshaft-crank-damper-pulley-021105243D/323512598938?hash=item4b52da819a:g:UJsAAOSwmFhbpsle:rk:13:pf:0
  15. Is it just the idle? Does it run ok apart from that?
  16. Trading this in for a 2017 ST3 on Wednesday. Quickly lost £4k in value during the time I've had it so thought may as well lose the money on a faster one instead. Already ordered the mountune mp215 for it. Basically an airbox and a remap to take it to 215ps
  17. RainX do a twin pack of products, a rain repellent for the exterior and an anti fog one for inside. Plus its worth getting some moisture absorbent things i have two of these in the car and amazed how much they soak up https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thomar-Reusable-Dehumidifier-Condensation-Moisture/dp/B07C5VB87W/ref=sr_1_7?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1539948651&sr=1-7&keywords=moisture+absorber
  18. I usually get this mixed up, but was that the car owned by Bill (A1VR6)?
  19. I've been using this as a primer https://www.frost.co.uk/eastwood-rust-encapsulator-aerosol-448g.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8PHDv6aN3gIVAZztCh3HZwQ5EAAYAiAAEgLPivD_BwE
  20. eagerly awaiting post #3
  21. That's what I've done in the past Rob.
  22. I had similar issues and turned out to be the stalk on steering wheel. Think something broke down inside it and was sending mixed signals
  23. Tried to get a video, but typical corrado, it did it for a few seconds and then cleared up. Too wet to take car out, so we'll look another day. Did a vagcom again and it said maf short to ground- intermittent. Not sure if this is because i changed the maf yesterday or its a wiring issue. Half tempted to just get stripping it down now ready for the new engine and obd2 swap, and then see if i have the same issue. Might look at changing fuel pump at same time as that is still the 233,000mile original. Starting to wonder if it is too do with fuel as started happening shortly after filling up. Although it seems more like an electrical ignition problem as unburnt fuel is going through the exhaust imo
  24. Thinking of replacing the VR with a G60.
  25. Nah, won't accelerator properly, really lumpy like not all cylinders are running. Pops and bangs too. Massive loss of power
