  1. Could do a glass bottomed corrado.
  2. I used those magnetic trays you get for holding screws etc, put the foam on, then used the trays to hold it it place while it dried, otherwise its constantly trying to fight gravity and you could be there for ages holding it up by hand.
  3. Mine was ok. I know paint was original. Did have a little come unstuck but glued back on fine. Was your paint lacquered? I did spill some of the glue on my engine cover and it reacted with that slightly, but I painted that myself.
  4. I'm in it for the car. Not the money. Never going to win if the whole time your building something with the thought of it being sold to someone else in the future. Cars are for enjoying. Never going to get that enjoyment trying to invent some sort of collectors item. We are that buyer.
  5. I have this one from SGS http://www.sgs-engineering.com/hydraulic-jacks/trolley-jacks/tja125-aluminium-trolley-jack I like it, nice and easy to get under car, i mainly got it because of the warrenty was longer than most other ones (for some reason i have 10yrs in my head) but site says 2yrs. Maybe they changed that or i've gone even madder since buying it. My only issues with it are: 1) Its not a quick/speed pumping jack, so you have to pump it more and put more effort in, but we are men so thats not a massive issue 2) Was jacking car up and noticed the jack coming apart, the big roller on the front come undone, So had to go over the jack and check all the bolts were properly tight and i decided to threadlock some of them in, wasn't that impressed with that, but has been fine since. I found most trolley jacks are the same but with a different label/brand.
  6. Been looking for photos of it for a while, am sure there was a US one i'm thinking of, driving down a tree lined road with a sort of blur effect.
  7. Noticed mine was a mix of the two bolts as well, i changed them so they matched
  8. I sprayed all the metal underneath with some of that sprayable wax stuff that dries hard. Think it was a Dintronol product, (spelt that wrong)
  9. I did have quite a few spares, but sold the odd ones over the years and garage keeps breaking them, not sure i have many left now :(
  10. I still reckon when i get my standard VR chopped spring setup, its going to be awesome. Every place i've taken mine have commented about the rear end being the problem. Just looking at the angle of the rear beam from the side, its look wrong.
  11. Can buy tiger seal on amazon now http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-Seal-TIG-NB-Polyurethane/dp/B002SQY852 used to be hard to get hold of. I just used a few blobs of it. My original one was stuck on with something similar, its just hard to remove again.
  12. There are clips, two parts to the clip, i tried to get some from the dealers but they only had one part of it. I ended up buying some velcro dots and was going to use them but totally forget i had them and ended up using tiger seal.
  13. The switches/stalk can go faulty and usually overlooked. also i was certain we had an ice and electric section
  14. I've just remembered one piece does need trimming slightly to fit.
  15. There is one piece that seems to have a bit missing. Bit that is how is meant to be.
  16. I've always wondered if some other caps may fit, like some VW branded ones.
  17. The allen key part is the part of struct that goes all the way inside the shock body and it spins round. The theory with an impact gun is that it spins the nut so fast the rod doesn't rotate. Beware you can damaged the threads when using an impact gun on them, especially when tightening them.
  18. Never seem to get 70 in mine. Normally 55-60.
  19. I've removed a system before, not that hard to do. Fit the compressor to the aux belt area, the extra rad bolts onto existing rad along with another canister bit, then the pipework runs through the bulkhead to the heater box/fan area, and a switch needs fitting to the dashboard.
  20. The cover needs to come off, not the whole liner, but have seen a few C's without the cover installed. Timing mark is a little embossed line on the metal casing and a little notch cut out of the pulley.
  21. Stealth don't seem to have the 4 wheel alignment anymore, i phoned them back in August/November time and it was broken, tried again in March/April and he said the same, maybe i sound like trouble on the phone, but i got the impression he had other things to do and wasn't really that fussed. Also the prices for parts was a bit crap, but i still bought off them, so can't moan too much. Still think i'll go there with my engine rebuild though.
  22. I bought all these bits, although never used most of it, i ended up brushing on the underseal stuff, i still plan to do it all properly. http://www.frost.co.uk/brands/dinitrol/dinitrol-rust-proof-kit-proofing-with-wax-shutz-gun.html How have you got your car upside down? (one of the strangest questions i've had to ask)
  23. Have a look on Frost automotive, they sell quite a lot of different products, got my POR15 from there.
  24. 2-3yrs ago there were usually about 100 on there, i still look on there and ebay for corrados and if your trying to buy a decent VR, then there isn't much choice at all these days.
