Changed my gearbox mount and it felt like the brand new one still, and it had done 194k as far as i know. Couldn't see any sign of fluid though, felt like solid rubber

Its weird that one side of my car had these compressed splines and not the other, maybe its had a new hub already. Either way its a bad design imo as my hub had been abused by people in the past to get it on and off. I can't see it coming undone, will threadlock the hubnut on i think

Page 20 Talks about the hub spline problem i had :! Blimey, thought no one knew, even the Technical people at VW were confused. Jolted splines it says on there, i just altered all mine with the dremel to get rid of the compressed splines.....ffs, hope it all works out ok.... I would be willing to swap for a mint condition corrado script badge and a pair of screw covers for the speedo surround :!

Just been to VW to order the clips that hold the lower windscreen plastic trim bits on (3no. bits of trim) and the clips are in two parts apparently. The lower fixing parts (Sleeves) are now obsolete, so i could only order the top bits. Anyone got a pic of the clips and the sleeve, wondering if i can use something else.

Any precautions to take? Car has sat for a year with no coolant, oil, brake fluid, PAS fluid etc, have changed the timing chains and some fuel lines in that time as well. When i first start it is there anything i should do first? i remember hearing something about being able to start it with no spark to help circulate some oil. Do i just disconnect the Coilpack and turn it over?

Think I'll try a pipe down the filler neck for now and add plenty of fresh fuel. Thinking my pump will be changed soon so will tackle that then. Otherwise I'll only replace it now and can't afford it yet.

Going to start the corrado up soon after its been sat for over a year. Don't fancy the old petrol going through the system. Is there a way to empty the tank?

I did for 4yrs, then it was a 2nd car for a year, now its been off the road for a year, planning to have it back as a daily driver again soon.

Nah, i didn't take note of that :lol: Still got the old ones if they can be measured, i wouldn't know how though

Some noise on full lock is normal

i just went to a local shop called TC fixings and we went through a load of boxes of bolts until we found three that fitted, i would of gone to VW but it seems to take 2 trips and three days every time i want something

Some more photos, nearly there now, looking forward to having it back. Wings are both repaired now, and rust free, i did stick them back on car but not taken a photo for the album yet Tailgate is also finished

Iphone for a daily, S3 for weekend toy, the ultimate in being a pretty swish kinda guy.

Mine did this noise for a while, then just stopped making the noise and was fine again for thousands of miles.

What is it that Apple products do that makes apple users so angry when you tell them all phones do the same stuff nowadays. I ask people and they come out with really small things like not having to press call before calling someone and this syri thing they all raved about, which i've never seen anyone use. I don't modify my phones, just use them out the box

I'm not too bothered about the S3 being better than an Iphone or vice versa. Just needed a new phone. The big debate people have is quite insignificant to me. But this phone has got me quite interested in samsung now, they seem a quality well thought out product. Had my S3 for the weekend now and can see me only using the camera, internet browser, text/calls. Could of probably done the same with an iphone but prefer the bigger screen of the S3. Sat nav is the same as my xperia. Don't feel i need to buy a tablet now either. Am sure the iphone had better sounding speakers when playing music, but i've not got any top quality music on the S3 yet. Sounded great with the earphones though and at home i usually use a dock anyway. All 8 people in the offices around me here have iphones and i can't see any benefit, apart from the itunes thing, but i do have an ipod already

It's quite large but nice and slim. Seems lighter than the iPhone I held. But that could be the weight is spread out . Size isn't an issue for me. I have old small phones that I use if going out and just need the phone side of things for emergency etc
