I'm quite happy with my H+R springs, plus they fit the late VR top mounts so no mucking about with different spring plates etc Had Pi and Weitec as well, but H+R have been the best so far

Hi mate, yeah i did get the photos thanks, was unsure at the time if i needed anything though as stealth racing seem to have taken an age to get on with it. Also unsure on how much it'll cost to get it all over to the UK. Will see what Vince thinks to my other bottom end before i go buying anything else, i have 3 engines in various states spread around the country
-
Got a call yesterday, i was thinking it was the call to say all done, but Vince says i need a new crank as the mains are destroyed and that he had never seen that before? I'm not even sure what he means by the mains  I'm now considering sodding off that engine block and just keeping the head, Vince just says its been caused by oil starvation, i don't know why that might be? Vince can't really offer much explanation either. Am thinking of taking up another complete bottom end that i've had running in car for 20-30k, and just getting him to check that out, possibly replace any bits that need it and just using that instead. I just don't trust the other bottom end anymore.

I wasn't too happy with the stuff i got from paints4u, no matter what i tried the paint came out really dull and flat with bo sparkle. Maybe a dodgy batch. I must have bought paint from most places including the dealers but found this place to be the best for the top coat. http://www.autopaint-pro.co.uk And then for lacquer i get this stuff, really good lacquer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/201657543252?lpid=122&chn=ps&adgroupid=33170564523&rlsatarget=pla-257284468440&adtype=pla&poi=&googleloc=1007108&device=m&campaignid=661219804&crdt=0&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F710-134428-41853-0%252F2%253Fmtid%253D1673%2526kwid%253D1%2526crlp%253D138747902141_563391%2526itemid%253D201657543252%2526targetid%253D257284468440%2526device%253Dm%2526mpre%253Dhttp%25253a%25252f%25252fwww.ebay.co.uk%25252fitm%25252flike%25252f201657543252%25253flpid%25253d122%252526chn%25253Dps%2526adtype%253Dpla%2526googleloc%253D1007108%2526poi%253D%2526campaignid%253D661219804%2526adgroupid%253D33170564523%2526rlsatarget%253Dpla-257284468440%2526gclid%253DCj0KEQjw1K2_BRC0s6jtgJzB-aMBEiQA-WzDMWhWmQAPMnZUOYR97WI9yxovdmduCIAXtQAqwq8BQ7oaAsRU8P8HAQ%2526srcrot%253D710-134428-41853-0%2526rvr_id%253D1101561293624 Still debating on a good primer though.

Some bits come out better than others, i think photos do it justice, things seem to look better in photos  My main aim is to just get rid of rust and seal things up until i am ready for a proper respray. Jim, i haven't painted the whole wing only the lip, i spend quite a bit of time doing it as seem to just hang out in the garage most nights... Waiting for the engine has given me the time to do it rather than driving it and never getting round to it. Still debating using it as a daily again when i get it sorted. Seems a waste to not drive it.
-
Got mine yesterday, thanks very much
-
Bit more painting done, must have painted this bit about 3 times in the past but never been happy with it so sanded it all back and painted it body colour, was previously POR15 paint that came out lumpy Primed with the rust encapsulator paint Painted and lacquered (not the best finish but gets hidden under the scuttle trim
-
Just checked, seems it sold http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1995-vw-corrado-storm
-
There was one on car and classics not too long ago
-
Could buy a £3k corrado and spend £15k on it and still be £4k better off, i think the whole original condition thing is a bit overrated if your buying it to drive. Unless you want to spend £22k on it and just show it off a handful of times a year and win a few cheap plastic trophies from the local cobbler.
-
I spoke with Annavr6 on the forum, she can order them from vw classic parts in Germany, she works at vw heritage and can save you most of the postage costs. Took about 6weeks though
-
Good excuse to add audi quattro arches and bonnet bulge
-
I saw this on facebook a short while back, just pinched them from there.
-
They have always been one of those hard to source parts and people charge loads for them
-
I somehow ended up buying every possible combination of parts  Bought all the front late parts twice as left it all attached to the suspension i got rid of.
-
Better than my attempt, i put the badge in some acetone as someone told me it would take all the paint off, it did that, but also melted the badge
-
I know, quite a weight off my mind, was preparing for a total rebuild and £2k-£3k bill, so quite glad i'll be hanging onto that money as seen a new car i want to replace my audi with, its a VW and its twin turbo :D

Had the rattle cans out and sorted out the wing, need to polish the whole thing still (hence the rest of paint looking matt) Also rang Stealth up today and not too bad news on the engine, needs one rod, some bearing shells and rod bolts, not sure why its happened but was cylinder 6, so maybe just oil starvation somehow. Stealth are going to put engine back together and i'll take a chance (hopefully it won't happen again). They have salvaged the crank. Not too bad considering i drove it about 20miles homes after it let go, i was expecting everything to be chewed up. Asked them to fit the metal headgasket this time, i didn't know it was an option last time round.

What fish you got in there?
-
Wow, really smart, like them a lot :) With a sumped tank, how does that link to the filters?
-
Any pics of the tanks? I like the look of fully planted tanks, but not sure i have the patience for it at the moment. I see lighting has moved on a bit, always wanted an external filter but never got round to upgrading. Think it was ehiem i was looking at.
-
Not sure if I've asked this before on here. Anyone got an aquarium(s). I used to have them, 3 at once at one point, but got rid of everything about the time i got the corrado, so 10yrs back. Am owed about £250 by the local aquarium shop, so thinking of getting a new tank. Not sure what i want though so just looking for ideas. Never had a marine tank, but only got room for something about 120-150ltr.

I think if the complete system is removed then its an mot pass, but if its just disconnected then its a fail.
-
Only removed it to fit the Teves20 system. Its a much nicer system and does away with the crappy bias valve, plus i don't think the pump is very rare/hard to get hold of. Has he totally removed the entire system?
