  1. Can't see to find any for sale, only the supersprint one and that nearly £700. There are some stainless ones on ebay for under £200 but doesn't say what make they are. I can't seem to find these raceland ones anymore. There is an Ashley exhausts one on ebay, but doesn't fit OEM cat.
  2. I used winter tyres one year, they made a big difference. (for sale in classifieds btw) I've bought an A3 TDI so will be using that this year. Its worth cleaning the handbrake mechanisms and spraying with WD40 or something similar as they freeze up some morning and leave your rear wheels locked. Check you have sufficient antifreeze/coolant mix (i still come across people using plain water), also stronger windscreen fluid as that can freeze and be a pain in the arse.
  3. My neighbour walked down the drive last night, i was working on my new engine and he seemed to be trying to tell me I'm crazy for spending all the money i spend on it. He asked me if someone offered me all the money back that i've spent on corrado so far. Would i take it rather than have the car?. I said no. If i bought a £10k-£13k car and kept it nearly 10yrs it would of cost me at least £20k imo in the end. (to do maintenance, modifying etc) and it would probably be worth £3-4k after 10yrs as well. Corrado does everything i need, looks good, has the rarity factor, and people appreciate it as an older classic, rather than just a BMW on some fancy rims or a teenagers hot hatch that comes chavved up from the factory.
  4. I seem to notice this each time i get a road tax renewal, £230 this year or £241.50 if done by direct debit. Am sure when i bought the car it was under £200.
  5. I just use a large 36mm socket, its quite easy on the VR6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Laser-3491-36mm-Oil-Filter-Socket-/321534420945?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4adcf1e7d1
  6. Golf VR6 BBS, 15" Steels, Winter tyres Not sure how best to sell these, but thought i'd make an advert and see what interest there is. I have: 4no Golf VR6 BBS Wheels, all in mint condition (2 were new from VW, the other two i've just had powder coated) 4no 15" Steel wheels, i think they are from a mk4 golf or a beetle, Was told they don't fit over 288mm front brakes, not sure about standard 280mm. (can get part numbers if required) These were new from VW, great condition, very slightly used) 4no Winter tyres, two are Dunlop wintersports, the others are good years (again i can get more details) they are 195/50/R15 and all hardly used. I had planned to get the tyres from the steels fitted to the BBS and then have a set of four wheels with tyres, but decided not to do that in case someone wants the wheels and not the tyres etc. As mentioned all the items are in really good condition, can take more photos if required. 7. Welcome to the forum, Good luck with the corrado, you'll need luck while owning one  I say just enjoy the 16v for a bit and then get a VR6, you know it makes sense..
  8. Have you loosened that clip, doesn't look very tight in the photo.
  9. Looks US spec. Don't think the uk cars had the secondary air pump and egr.
  10. It all comes apart so you can repaint the body. Replace the brushes. Solenoid can be replaced too. I have 3 lying about at the moment. I plan to rebuild all of them. Even my 200,000mile original had lots of life left in the brushes and the armature bit was fine.
  11. I agree with Sean. For the price vw charge it's more sense to go with silicone hoses. My samco ones haven't lasted very long. Also in the process of ditching jubilee clips for original spring clamps.
  12. Any reason for getting coil overs instead of a shock and spring combo?
  13. Quite easy to rebuild them.
  14. I used to use a heavy duty velcro. Am sure I got it from halfords. Like a roll of it.
  15. They are hard to find. Do you need the whole unit or just the glass?
  16. I noticed mine getting stiffer. Was lovely after getting a new clutch. Then I refitted it when doing the chains. Just got slowly worse then started making a knocking noise at low speeds and clutch biting point was really low. Might look into getting something welded on my new one then. Cheers Kevin pork product.
  17. Nice one. I did already have a new one but need another spare
  18. Weird, just looked at the old one and its the same, i had a funny issue, thought it was gearbox so changed that, then a few months later the same happened again. Have got the new parts already, i'm just wondering if i've used the wrong type of grease on the release bearing which has turned to glue and stopped it sliding along the shaft.
  19. There have been a couple of examples on the forum where the fan has seized and caught fire, so i'd be careful driving it, or just not drive it. If its a VR6 then quite a few people are changing the fan for SPAL ones, but you need custom brackets.
  20. Was just checking out my gearbox and noticed this, not sure what could of caused it? Its quite bent and cracked both sides.
  21. I've got a spare cap for the oil filter housing but the drain plug in the middle is stuck and i've tried to get it out without any luck, the plastic is all in good order though, i'd post it to you for a couple of quid and it might be of use if you can get the plug out (i've cut a slit in the metal bit as i chewed up the thread) They are the same as the golf 2.8 version.

    HID's

You are getting terribly old though Kevin!
  23. Think i am going to have to ditch mine as fitting an oil catch can. Bonus imo, never liked that pipe.
