  1. In the end we shipped the 24v from Durham to Colchester for 60 quid, and then I drove over through the tunnel and picked it up in a van. I had to collect a wardrobe and some other stuff, plus visit the parents/freinds etc. too though. I found a Dutch pallet shipping company that would ship it from Durham to Delft for 300 euro though (with 2k insurance value), so if I didn't have other bits to pick up would have gone that route. I doubt it would be much more from Germany to the UK. Dutch
  2. 2k isn't bad for that. You're going to fit it yourself? A 5000 mile 24v would look just as tasty though  edit: as you can now see thanks to Mr. laaad
  3. LOL, yep, 1 before and 1 after each CAT. The chip Stan has removes the need for the 2 after the CATS though as they are only really there for diagnosing a dud CAT. Dutch
  4. Thanks, though it might be but wasn't sure. Bollocks...
  5. Stan, are you on commission with PSI :D
  6. ...oh, and the twin CATS All I need now is a downpipe and 4 lambda probes, so guess that's the list of what you'll need too. Dutch
  7. well mate, for 1200 quids I got the following: 8000 mile 24v ECU Full loom labelled up for the C clocks and fuseboard Inlet manifold Exhaust manifolds TB MAF elbow piping Temp senders plus thermo housing etc. The manifold heatshield The carbon canister (its minus its switch which is the important bit, but I cant find the other one. might be a case of just robbing the switch from a scrappy.) The dipstick auxiliary air pump and associated pipes crank case breather pipe mk4 relay plate and other parts of loom. mk4 clocks circuit board Ignition barrel (actually still attached to the mk4 steering column as I didnt have time to seperate it - I dont need it anyways) MAF Key - I have taped this to the side of the MAF just to be safe. So quite abit but most of it obvious I think. Dutch
  8. double-6s, ...and? :) I bought my engine from Coxylaaad up in Durham and I live in the Netherlands.
  9. lol, no didn't see that  A good guide though. Dutch
  10. A couple of R32 lumps went for around the 2200 euro mark recently on the German 'bay. Haven't seen any in the last couple of weeks for that kind of cash though. There's a couple plus gearbox, subframes & suspension front & rear etc. going at the moment, but for over 5000 Euro's. Dutch
  11. If it's in good nick as the dr. points out and comes with the loom, ecu, brackets, manifold, tb, PAS pump, dbw pedal etc. then it's not too bad a price, but R32's can go for that and the average price for the 2.8 is more like 1000-1200. I paid 1200 for a 8000 mile 24v with all the extra's like ECU, full loom already labelled up for the C fuseboard etc. etc. Dutch
  12. PhatVR6, Don't suppose you know where I can get a second hand 4Motion downpipe? Finding it hard to source one over here and they cost 480 euro new from VAG (ex vat) Thinking about it would a RHD downpipe be different to a LHD one? Dutch
  13. Delft, The Netherlands... anyone want some pottery :)
  14. Thanks. I'm using the 4Motion CATS btw. Dutch
  15. Jay, is that yes to knowing or yes to them being the same ? :?
  16. Does anyone know if the 4Motion downpipe is the same as the R32 one? Dutch
  17. double-6s, lol :) ...those 12 extra valves are calling
  18. Just stumbled accross this: http://www.tremek.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18600 That sound is just lovelly 8) Dutch
  19. I think that was the same one I almost bought. The guy sold it on ebay and then the buyer pulled out. Someone on here mentioned it so I phoned him and could have had it for 700, but then the 24v surfaced. Thing is though you'd still need a crank etc. too plus the chains would still need doing etc. etc. I'm no mechanic and stripping and rebuilding an engine is something I'd have to pay someone to do, which then adds even more to the cost. I reckon I can swap the engine myself though, hence it being MUCH cheaper (in my case at least) to go the 24v route. Dutch
  20. double-6s, I had the same dilema mate. I already had a reconditioned head and a VSR to fit, plus I was about to buy a brand new ABV block and piston set too. After working out the cost of this lot it was a no-brainer when the 24v came along for £1200. I hope to spend no more than £1600-1700 in total on sourcing and fitting the 24v, compared to over £4000 to rebuild the 2.9 and pay for the VSR  Dutch
  21. double-6s, don't know mate, but well over the 5000 grand mark I'd imagine!! I've seen them on the bay from 1800 quid upto 3000 though. I paid 1200 for my 2.8 24v (and Stan simular just for his engine I think) Check out (if you've not done so already that is) http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33931 Kev, I'm sure the missus would understand  :) Rough to me is what mine also sounds like right now, raw is what I'd call the sound of a good VR when nailed in 3rd :D Dutch
  22. ...and mine! I can't wait for some 24v goodness. It's pretty much the same block btw so still as raw when floored!!! Dutch
  23. My '94 coil-packed VR won't run with the MAF disconnected either. I have a new TPS and O2 sensor too. This happened to me last week btw. After I replaced the MAF and TPS about a year ago she's been running just fine, with no stalling. 2 weeks ago she started stalling again (about 4-5 times on the drive home). I just disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and she's not stalled since. I think every now-and-then you need to recalibrate the TPS. The simplest way is to reset the ECU. I doidn't bother with Basic Settings either btw. Dutch
  24. Just called that place and Pagid don't make the fast road anymore and are not intending to replace them either. They're now available directly from the company that manufactures them which is called TexStar (TechStar) or something. He's going to find out if they have them in stock and email me the price as they're already out of stock on the Pagid FR's!! Dutch
