  1. There are quite a few of us who will not be attending Harewood House his year as costs rose significantly last year on previous yeras Sadly it appears to be growing bigger than its boots - as happens to so many shows. Not tried Elsecar - but always hear good feedback
  2. Is that just for you and Jud ?? !!!! :D (Although havn't you broken one recently ?? !!:D )
  3. I find people get the idea of how annoying they are being if - First you tell them - 'You are really annoying me and I am going to show you how much' (- obvioulsy they are confused at this point, - how exactly are you going to show them),................ then bang the phone hard on a solid surface several times - beofre hanging up. !!! Its hilarous if nothing else - especially in an office enviroment ! Naturally this works best on your landline and actually would probably only smash your screen on a mobile !!!
  4. Have to agree, also largest meet so far, 7 people, who knows we may make double figures soon. Good to meet Jason and Suzie, plus usual faces. Hope you realise burn out of car park was just for you Jason and not normal at all !!!! :D Think Clive needs the prize for best effort, bit of a hike from South Oxford. So next one - Northampton way.............
  5. Still meet at 7.30pm, just table for food at 9pm. I will be arriving at 7.30pm.
  6. Poor excuse - come on I need a laugh - especially as have been there - done that !!! :D You mentioned you wanted a meet in near Northampton, where are you exactly (pm me if you like) and I will try to do the Feb one nearer to your location. I should be on time after all for this evening. ---------- Post added at 12:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:41 AM ---------- Glad I rang to book a table, seems they are busy. I have booked a table for 6 of us at 9pm, they could not do earlier - sorry. Jim - you may need a snack beforehand !! A table of 6 are in at 7pm and they allow 2 hours per table We are in the restaurant, they have no room in the bar, but we can confirm when we arrive. No worries if only 4 of us eat, they are fine with that. Booked in name of Duckett - pronounced 'Douquet' !!! :D
  7. Hopefully Miles (Dude VR6) is joining us too. Might be a little late - only 15 mins max.! Depends what time Miles can get away from work and how dry the roads are !! :D

  11. Oh that's so annoying, hope you manage to get this resolved easily. Def report to Police. Your year can only get better, chin up !!
  12. This link would suggest there are only 2619 Corrado's left - Really ?? !!!
  13. Or they can't afford to keep them or maintain them properly. I think there is a significant amount of owners that are so wealthy, they do not really care for them, quite abused even, even though they may be properly serviced and maintained. Of course this can be the case of any car, but I think it shows up more on the more expensive of vehicles. Any car for sale right now - what floods has it been driven through ?? !!
  14. ^^ Note its a 'Cat D' and looks to have had the typical numerous owners that I observe of many Porsche's - if looking at the Service History geography is anything to go by.
  15. Agree with Kev, that interior is dire, (I couldn't live with it either) but, otherwise an excellent car. I do not think Porsche ownership of any kind should be taken lightly when it comes to expense. I think there would be nothing worse than having a car you really desire then not being able to service it properly, even just having/affording good right tyres etc etc. Better to have a car you can properly afford and therefore enjoy.
  16. You need to use that right foot more Eric !!!! :D
  17. Vaughan - Personally I think you need to offer to undertake some of the suggestions you make rather than just coming up with numerous items you feel the Club should be doing.

    Insurance Guidance

Thanks, It has been already done though. We are discussing here, do we need to disclose that he is Canadian ?
  20. Guys hi, I wonder if anyone can help point me in the right direction. Are any of you working in Companies with collegues from abroad and company vehicles. I am needing to obtain some Company Vehicle Insurance. 2 employees to be named drivers. I -= 30 years old, UK resident, no fines etc etc etc etc. License 12 years 1 = 55 years old, Canadian, resident here for 16 months. Licence for 35 years, no fines, convictions etc etc There has not previously been any Company vehicles, so no no claims to use. Vehicle - just a 1.9 GT TDI Golf , year approx 2001, value £2500.00 The best quote I have is £2454.07 !! - due to the no claims. I am also understanding the Canadians residency being below 3 years is also a problem. Online sites can't help as this is out of the ordinary. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Wendy
  21. In my opinion you could not have an events manager who tries harder to put things on for the Corrado Club But if people are rarely attending the events, shows, local meets who is the Club to try to promote further to and this costs quite serious money ? It is left to the same people all of the time to try and create different events, publicity, produce the Sprinter, buy/sell merchandise and on and on. And all voluntarily and in their own free time. People are often wanting more and more from the Club and whilst appreciating suggestions for the Club, which is all good, more people are required to assist and make some of these things happen. Jim has wanted to retire from the Sprinter Editor role for a few years now, but no - one has stepped up and he continues to do it, even though the job is made harder still for him as he fights to get editorial content. Apart from Committee members and a few regular others - does anyone else ever offer to stand at a Club Event and try to sell the Club. It is not possible to have this all ways - one such example - Big National Days - they cost money. Larger, glossier Sprinters etc etc . I do feel this is a good Club and more interested parties of taking the Club forward would be great, hopefully there will be many more volunteers in the future. I am sure everyone on the committee will be grateful for this and No, I am not one of the them, but I am in business and the Club does have to ran as such. As for the people on here on the one hand saying they themselves really would not mind paying an extra £5.00, but then putting an arguement against it !!
  22. If the balance were to be £2000 I can almost guarantee you the Comittee would not be commiting to any expenditure - to nervous the Club were about to close. Club Fees then would have to be increased and to a much greater value than the suggested £15.00 I do not understand/see what you are saying no matter how many times you try to tell or dictate it to me. I think you may find the reduction in membership is nothing to do with the actual fees charged, but reduced numbers of Corrado and therefore owners, on top of considerable numbers who do not support the Club and its activities.
  23. As Yan says above, he also mentioned income should cover the costs of running the club, not at a loss. As I said before, it poor business to wait until the Club has run out of money to address its issues.
