Sorry to be a vulture but I have a list of parts I'd be intereted in. Will PM!
-
Is that the only difference though? The loom can easily be extended using the old loom some heatshrink and solder.

VAG-COM says my left rear ABS sensor is duff. I haven't had a look yet but if I need a new sensor I notice rear sensors are £30 more than fronts. Does anyone know the difference between front and rear sensors? Is the only difference the length of the wire? In which case I could just buy a front sensor and extend the loom? Has anyone actually seen both togther that can give an answer? Cheers.

Cheers everyone my probem was the relay - it was the worong kind of relay! not a flasher relay......a quick swap and alls well.

Did you manage to fix this? Have exactly the same problem. Cheers, Will.

Buying a c - need to know some measurements please!
was8v replied to was8v's topic in General Car Chat
Aha - good idea. I'm viewing tomorrow - is there an online version of the bentley manual (I sold my cd copy with my last car), happy for replies in PM. Or could someone take a screenshot of the measurements page? That would be a great help. Cheers, Will. -
When I sold my previous car, the guy who bought it was very meticulous, and went over the car closely. One thing he did was measure the wheels centre to centre on each side to see if they where within 4mm of manufacturers spec. Can someone with a straight C VR6 measure this distance (centre of one wheel to the centre of the other) on both sides of the car for me? I want to be sure that whatever has happened, the car has been put back together right. Cheers.

Did you find a solution to this? Cheers.

Oh dear. My housemate had a load of clothes strewn over his car, matalan jeans, a coat and some work shoes and someone smashed his window and robbed them. Police reckoned it was a tramp looking for new clothes. I just never EVER leave anything, not even "worthless" things like old jeans on display in my car and use a DISKLOK (those stoplock things are easy peasy to pop off). The bloke accross the road even goes as far as to not bother locking his old escort - reckons no one is going to want to nick it (engine immobiliser would make it tough for a joyrider) and would rather if someone wanted to get in it they didnt smash it up in doing so. Pretty sad state of affairs really but if you get into the habit of leaving nothing on display then nothing can go missing...

Good to see you have a solution because the corrado doesn't unlock when pulling the lever from inside like more modern cars! Wouldn't like to be stuck in an accident!
-
How do you unlock the door from the inside?

I have some as new Alpine SXE 6x4 speakers 3 months use- drop straight into the rear of a corrado no cutting needed, and much improved sound. £20 to your door. PM if interested - I prob wont check back here. You need to save most of your ICE budget for front speakers anyway as these are the ones you listen to most.

To be honest guys, I'm not looking for an anywhere near mint finish. I just want the damn things to hold air properly again and not look quite so scabby! Hence why i was after a "cheap" service. Cheers for all the leads.

I'm having difficulty finding a place the will blast paint/corrosion off my rims and slap some new paint on them for a reasonable sum. I'm not fussed about having the "slight" curbing filled or an immaculate finish so thought of ringing powder coaters, blasters etc, however I'm not having much luck. The best I could find is £160 from a wheel place in Blackpool, I was hoping to pay less than £100. Anyone had this done cheapy in the North West?

Why not complain about the 1st garage, there is a procedure to this I think details are ont he back of a an MOT cert. If they were wrong (and trying to drum up repair business) you should get your fee refunded at least.

Brilliant, you've got to love Bristol's - sooooo eccentric and British!

STOP! I've used this guy twice to arrange a courier to pick wheels with tyres up for me. The first on came on a 24 hour service, the 2nd on 48hr. Both times the courier was parcelforce. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0046459397 Allow 25kg for each wheel should be plenty. Just make sure the seller boxes them up well! Bargain at £30 IMHO.

I've seen those before. Cut the connector off and solder the wires to a connector of the right type.

oh yeah sorry just remembered VAG parts.com quoted me £55 delivered for the pipe after I'd picked one up from VW..... sorry!
-
Mine split in the same location. I bought the new one from VW. The new part is a different design, that joint is now reinforced which leads me to believe it was a poor design in the first place. Hence I'm not surprised its failed again! Buy a new one from VW or a samco hose kit...

Yep take a rap on the wrist and cough up. I got done doing 86 on an empty motorway by a scamera van. Nobody to run over. No slow moving traffic. Could see empty motorway for miles. I got the same as people get for doin 40 in a 30 - 3 points and £60. That pi$$es me off.

You have PM - I believe the G60 supercharger needs rebuilding every 70,000 miles by a specialist - if you are looking at one look for a reciept or budget for a rebuild. Others know more as I've never owned one!

My (bugdet) setup is Vibe components up front - woofers in the doors and tweeters and the crossovers in the dash positions secured with hot melt glue. Also Alpine 6x4s in the back, all run off a Pioneer DEh 77MP headunit. I don't use an amp, although to amp the fronts is probabably the next step, but I'm more thn happy with the SQ at the moment so it will prob be left as is.

Replaced the glass recently on my passenger side. I removed door card and pulled off both the interior and exterior seal bits that butt up to the glass. Just pull the the lifter bars off the rollers as funky says. Should then be able to wangle the glass out towards outside of vehicle- the pad referred to on mine was stuck fast so a couple of mins jiggling it about gets it out My new window had the pad stuck fast too - i just greased the runner up and jiggled it about to get it it in - took 10mins of wiggling about but it went in, then push the lifters back on and bolt the middle bit back. Stick a bit of electrical insulation tape along the edge of the door the exterior seal goes on to stop the glass scratching on it before fitting the new glass. Took about 15 mins in total...and I took the oppourtunity to clean the exterior seal as from the inside it looked a bit green.

I got a fax for free and was surprised to see full VW history to date. I heard if you go in and buy a replacement service book they will stamp it up according to their records.
