help!! changed cams and now ive lost the time
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to quicky1980's topic in Engine Bay
this is true, but also when you look at the cams the lobs on No.1 should face up-over for TDC for No.1 and not down indicating the next cycle. -

Take out the spark plugs and put a long screwdriver down the NO.1 plug hole and turn the engine over slowly until the screw drivers moves up and stops at the top TDC (it will be fine tuning to get it near top dead centre) You should remove the plastic bung from the top of the gearbox(unscrew the plastic bung),you should see something like a V-slot cut into the flywheel and a arrow cast mark on the bell housing of the block, that's TDC. Now for the cams, the front cam pulley will have a mark on the rear of the pulley towards the rocker cover side,if you look at the pulley from the front its on the right hand side on the back and this should be lined up with the face were the rocker cover faces down(if that makes sense) then the two dots on the cams should face each other, that's it timed up ! After that's done turn the engine a few degrees the opposite way anticlockwise and time the distributor to fire on No 1 . There you have it...easy as pie  -
I thought it stopped vibration? Ive removed this brfore on my old raddo with no side affects.

I'm sure I've seen on some early Porsches two callipers, one decent size one for foot brake and another small one for handbrake, just an Idea. Cant seen the point of changing the rear brakes as they are to well up to the job already.Go buy one of those Brembo covers off Fleabay if you want the look without the hassle !

brake and power steering change 94 vr6
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to matt_corradovr6's topic in Drivetrain
There is no pad wear indicators on corrados im afraid.Suck out old brake fluid from your reservoir using an old syringe then fill it up with fresh fluid to bleed through, probably no more than 1 litre. As for your power steering, ive never changed the fluid ,but pulling off hoses ect to get out the old fluid is the way to go...fluid everywhere !! If you like heavy braking then drilled discs do work, they stop brake fade under heavy braking, same with brake fluid standard DOT 3-4 will do. But how hard do you drive/brake? -
They still call mine a scirocco !!!

Its metric fine m10 x 1.0 i think, but its standard fitting of most brake pipes just ask for metric ends.
