VR6, Your doing alot of Moving today

If its just the one air bag do as Phil K said and remove the Bulb,Vag Com wont be able to disable bulb because it recognizes the air bag is not there so a fault code will appear. If it has more than one air bag then a resister is needed to fool the Airbag ECU to think there is one still there. So then the light will work normally and the other airbags will function to.

disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or more. It will be safe to remove after that. Store it in the boot out of harms way.

Get the violins out.... something else just went pop
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to moneypit23's topic in Engine Bay
If you dip the dipstick and there is sludge ...worry If its just on the underside of cap or rockercover....its ok. If there is no sludge that's even better! -

It might be worth getting the radiator fan or switch checked out incase they have gone faulty -

Sludge on the oil cap can be normal if you don't do long runs as condensation does form in the engine. If there's oil in the coolant tank then that's a different story -

It wont be cheap(depends where you go) but get it checked out by a good mechanic as its unlikely its trapped air ect. Does this problem happen only in traffic or also while moving? Is your radiator fan working? -

It sounds like you have a head gasket problem to me as you have changed waterpump, rad ect... Air is being pumped past the leaking headgasket into the waterways and its subsequently forcing the coolant past the Expansion tank cap. What engine is it Kate? -
salutation to you sir

Nice ride mate.Welcome

also early types of 2.8 manifolds with 2.8 DOHC cast on top are the same size as 2.9,but there are not many about.
-
look at the underside of the manifold,if it has ribs around the inlet track its a 2.8 for restriction. If it has no webs its a 2.9.

Cheers for the replies....well chuffed :thumb right: The manifold and rocker cover I polished while I was doing chains. So they had been taken off. There will be to much aluminium filings every where when you flatten the alloy down,so better off. Still need to paint plastics as haven't got around to do them yet. Tick one job done(tick) ..bit by bit... :-P -
