1. Congratulations on getting it running mate, it's a good feeling isn't it! Are you using a Corrado fan controller then or Mk4? Whichever one you have it doesn't matter, but the aux pump is driven by it. Last thing I did on mine before I packed it away was wire in a later fan controller.
2. Strange , I would have read that as MU51 EMA! Who's he kidding but himself?
3. Just what I'm right in the middle of too! Takes up so much time and effort, not to mention money. I forked out a thousand pounds the other day just to pay for a sodding carpet for one room :-( that's half a respray! still you ultimately get the money back with a house... Best of luck with it all, are you getting the builders in or are you doing some of it yourself?
4. Have you got urethane wishbone bushes? They often creak if the installers haven't fitted them with copper grease
5. I couldn't get mine to work with the floor mounted pedal, the signal was different, but it wasn't a 3.2 pedal either so it could have been that. Didn't have to mod my engine mount either, it does sit a little high on the drives side but then so did the 12V. I measured the positions of the mounting bosses on the blocks (from the crank) and they were the same, but I just wonder if perhaps there maybe differences between 24v blocks.
6. Vw sell the underseal still...
7. Hi Paul good to see progress is always on the agenda! Those nylon powder coated bits look great, all the flappy business was worth it! Reminds me a little of when I did the underside of mine and found that there were a few places that were a little rusty. Did you check around the studs that you attach the brake lines and heat shield with? Also up in the wheel arches I found some, infact I did a thread on it somewhere. What's amazing is that it wasn't very bad at all, after 15 years of daily driving- you would never have that much protection on modern cars just look at the problems they are having with mk5 Golf wheel arches even up to 06 plate.. Always enjoy the updates keep them coming :-)
8. It's just the sealing ring, I shouldn't worry about it.
9. New wheels!! I will be adding 5x112 fitment to my discs hubs shortly to fit these. These were actually what I originally wanted but couldn't find anywhere. I'm sure there are many that won't like these (another full face design) either but hey ho!!
10. Phone your insurance company, tell them you would like a replacement screen, then choose a preffered fitters, speak to them and tell them you would like to get some rust sorted. They will come round and take the screen out, you then get the rust sorted, and then you phone them up to arrange the fitting of the new screen.
11. Unfortunately mate, if you can see the rust, it usually means its quite bad.
12. No they are just a projector rather than reflector, still designed for halogen bulbs.
13. Corrado's looking really tidy now Jay well done its nice to see. Quick question on the suspension setup your putting together. I never knew that the VR6 struts were longer than the other models, but if you are using non VR6 struts surely the damping rates are too low or have misunderstood something? Little trick we use at work to measure suspension travel is to wrap a cable tie round the stanchion,
14. Why not try and find something you can do that enables you to work for yourself? Self employment for me was the best career move I ever made. I bet you'd make more in a car park -washing 3 cars an hour for a tenner each, five days a week for eight hours is 240 a day, or about 5.5k a month, 60k a year....

New Storm

Unfortunately you comment above couldn't be further from the truth. If I were you i would take it to someone like Stealth or DG Autotech, there work is far better rated than any VW dealership. Obviously your selling though!
16. Thanks buddy that would be good.
17. Really enjoying seeing you return the car to a more OEM theme, it's been making me think I should do the same to mine....
18. That's an easy fix then, it's nice when it's that easy :-) They mounted mine by screwing through to the scuttle! Water getting in eventually stop the alarm working!
19. ...what about parts for headlights? You don't have to buy a full headlight.
20. I think you can still buy bits of headlight at the dealers.
21. If it was anything like my dealer fit alarm was, it'll just be chucked in there, wires all over the place, truly the worst alarm installation I'd seen.
22. In preparation for Mk5 ECU- how come? Looks good btw
23. I can remember you talking about the inpro rear lights not lining up when you came over with Asim, and you saying you would file the slots to make them line up properly! That must have been at least 10 years ago! Yours was still a g60 I think, and quick too. Things never change eh!
