  1. If you haven't got the VR6 parts i wouldn't bother using a VR6 fan controller though, it's easier to wire in a 24V fan controller than a 12V one, you won't need to get hold of the 3rd speed switch, plug and wiring. The 24V one used on lots of vdubs (part no ending in ...506K, or N without air con) uses an output from the ECU (white wire, pin 61 iirc) to get it's data from, then you just need an ignition live, permanent live, earth, pump feed, 2 x fan feeds (I put one via a resistor if using spal fans to give two speeds), and rad switch outputs. Don't bother with the Mk4 clocks, just use the Mk2 ones with a recalibrated tacho for 6 cylinders or Mk3 VR ones.
  2. Well chuffed with this, I was fiddling with the light switch the other day thinking it was feeling a bit fragile. Count me in for one.
  3. You too! I wonder how many people asked him!!
  4. It's really simple mate, you should end up with a bunch of bits like this....
  5. No worries pal, no special tools other than some large hex bits, Salisbury slowly getting worse, just doiing a house up out in the countryside, can't wait to get out there!
  6. Clean these filters buddy (shown in the middle just poking out of the hole), also if you take the pump off the manifold there are some in there too, infact there are lots of filters. Just carefully take the whole unit apart on a workbench and you will come across them all eventually. You'll probably find one blocked stopping the system from pressurising quickly, it's either that or your pump is not up to scratch. You say it's not affecting performance, it won't normally but it will if you ever need the ABS as it can't pressurise fast enough!
  7. Ha ha it was you I thought it might be! I was looking for a second set of wheels but you beat me to it! If you ever come to sell them... Love the Cobra
  8. Mine's got Audi 3.2 wiring, totally fine buddy. Just make sure you get the loom that goes from the ECU to the inside of the car, has lots of coloured plugs on the end of it.
  9. Considering how old they are, I think Corrado's resist the rot remarkably well. How many other early 90's cars are still about and often used for a daily? Nice job on making a nice car even better.
  10. wiring diagrams attached should help! Corrado94.pdf

    rubbing compound

Farecla make the Halfords stuff so the halfords guy said...G3 and the yellow tube of halfords stuff certainly feel identical.
  12. ^ Same here, will be interesting to see how much hp you can get NA! Did you just bolt the 4 mo pedal to the side of the pedal box bracket? Thats what I did, works well and simples. Nice downpipe and well made, can't help thinking it goes into one a bit to soon though.
  13. Yeah I'll do that, I don't want to have to bleed the brakes too!
  14. I'm renting in Porton, moving in a couple of months to Damerham, a village near Fordingbridge. You should pop by sometime for a gander and a cuppa.
  15. Cool thanks buddy, I'll carry on then! Did you get the vaccum pipe back on ok then?
  16. Still on the 'to do' list buddy!! I'm not driving it about yet, I'm just tidying up the wiring looms and then it's back together to go off and have a new downpipe/cat section made by a friend who runs a longlife franchise. Whils't it's up on the ramps I'll fit/mod/fabricate the undertray. There's no way i've spent all this time getting it tidy to ruin it all by driving it without the undertray! Thanks G60mat, should be around for the end of the summer now, a new house restoration project is getting in the way of progress.... thamouse, that's probably because I'ts been off the road for the last 3 1/2 years, it has been around before that though! Where are you living?
  17. Forgot about this post- I need to set up email notification!! Thanks for the replies, alas yes it's obsolete now :-( , still looking if anyone has one second hand
  18. Hi all, I decided to take the engine wiring loom out of my engine bay and wrap it in protectant conduit to match the Audi stuff the engine has. The trouble is it looks much better than the other loom so I'd like to do that one too, but to get that one out I have to take the servo out as it wraps around underneath it. I've already loosened it off by taking the four nuts off from the inside, until it now clonks against the suspension turret. I was going to undo the vaccum pipe and master cylinder but it looks like a bitch to get back on and so thought I'd ask here first! Anyone?
  19. As in title, mint one preferable, although not essential.
  20. x2 for 1.8t If it was a Mk2 though I'd say high revving valver
  21. x2 It's nice to see a job being done really well. It's probably improved the value of the car a fair bit too. The only thing I would have done differently would be to use a matt finish on the leather, but that's just personal opinion and you've still done it very nicely. Hope it runs well after all this hard work!
  22. Do you still have the handbrake leather handle? Oh and the lh vent above the head unit, if it's still got some resistance, mine's wobbly...
  23. Your passenger was of course standing outside of the car at the time...
  24. I thought (and that's not a very knowledgeable thought) TT3.2 tubular ones were the ones to go for? Or are mk5's the same?
