  1. Best way is to take the bonnet off and carefully put it on the lawn. Then pour a small amount of cellulose thinners on each bit, let it dissolve the glue for a minute or two, then just scrape it off with a credit card, scoops off like margarine...petrol works too, but you have to let it soak longer.
  2. I tried the high temp stuff from eBay and a year later everything I did with it is coming loose. Basically I've been told by our trimming dept at work that if it's from a spray can it's unlikely to last, they spay the tinned stuff from a spray gun as it's sometimes difficult not to saturate the cloth if you paint it on and more time consuming. The cars spend a lot of time in the middle east with no problems.
  3. It was my understanding that it is a condition sensor, still that would be great to have! Surely it has a 1/0 output or 12v /0v ? Suppose that could be tested!
  4. My BHE Audi TT came with a hanging pedal, fits great but you have to take the pedal bracket off to fit it to it.
  5. It's better to put a 10mm spacer between the stub axle and beam if you can. Much tidier too.
  6. I was thinking 37 but didn't want to post it up without being sure this time! I should do as you say and then decide if you can live with the needle jumping a bit.
  7. Good choice of wheels clumpy, they look great, when will you have a pic?
  8. Well done Sean that's a hell of a lot of progress in the time, given that it's all done on the driveway and other stuff going on etc...it's going to be a fantastic car when it's finished. Now about those CH's... They look awesome.
  9. Balls you're totally right, it's not pin 54 at all. Feeding bad info again...I think it's actually one of the air con signals..
  10. Please note this is using an Audi TT BHE engine
  11. Also, not all ECU's have a signal output on 54...
  12. You need the canbus twisted pair I think, I'm not sure to be honest as I haven't done it yet!!
  13. The rev signal is 37, but in retrospect i wouldn't use it and is the reason i'm taking my loom out again to get the CAN wires back in, the needle jumps about a bit, so better off with a CAN converter I think. I used a fused permanent live from my battery fusebox for the ECU like the Audi 24V does.
  14. Ok so I've not uploaded this in the past because most people were getting SWICT or likewise to do their wiring, and it was so long ago I did this and I know for sure i didn't follow it 100%, but anyway I want to take my loom out again soon (getting fast at it now) to put in the MPG wire if it works, good find on that Swiftkid! Also I'd not posted it because I'm not sure the conversion bit is 100% right, but hey it's a starting point and if anything the J220 pinout is really handy (i'm sure that's accurate), took me ages to trace through the diagrams to create it! Anyway, if you spot any mistakes please let me know. Kip VR 24V-12V Pinout.pdf
  15. Hi pal, I haven't got my wiring diagrams to hand at the moment, but I do know I plugged everything into the existing VR setup, I bought some connector pins from eBay and plugged the 24v wires into the g1/g2 connectors where possible. However I did have to be careful what powered up what, because of the load differences, and not wanting to overload any circuits. You can use the VR fp relay no problem. I'll post what goes where tomorrow if I can.

    Wheel bearings ?

The undulating wear on a tyre is called 'cupping'. Yeah I know-sounds dodgy!
  17. Thanks Ralphead, useful info there it was my wife's turn again this week, so that's £500 on tyres this month...
  18. You can buy disc/bell setup with the bell made to your spec, depends on your budget - as that's expensive.
  19. Fair play to you cleaning all the underside up, that's a horrible job to do but it's really satisfying to know your corrado is as clean on the underside as the body is, well done! The ABS unit itself is a couple of hours to remove and strip, I sent all the small bits like the unions off for plating and then reassembled it all a week later. One thing to note is that there are little filters inside the unions, take care removing them and clean them out! Here are some pics, I have more if you want. Before, during and after!
  20. I couldn't agree more Kev. It's years of council managers promoting useless cretins to positions below them so that they don't get 'threatened' by bright sparks coming through the doors. I've gone through two tyres in two weeks... It's a fairly easy fix, do the job properly, once.
  21. I think that yellow plug is attached to main beam, it can be plugged into the alarm etc to make the lights flash.
  22. We'll done pal, nice to see another 24v coming along...This should help with the wiring. Nice job so far! http://www.a2resource.com
