How nice it would be to go back to those prices!! How much does it cost to fill up a VR now then? It was £60ish I think when I last filled up my Corrado many years ago!
-
Thanks lads, MOT booked for next week, although I may not make it! I'll get some decent interior pics up soon though.
-
Well I'm onto the details now, I've decided to aim for completion in time for GTi International, nice easy pace to get on with. I might actually get it MOT'd next week just so i can drive it over to mine to get on with all the little finishing touches that need doing. Anyway, my steering wheel didn't really go with the rest of the interior, so i figured I'd make it a little more oem, and colour co-ordinate the centre at the same time.

What problems are you having fitting it?
-
Every now and again you get genuine Corrado ones on ebay and on here.
-
Yes, you may well be able to get all the bits from VW still.

I've bought a pump to do this, but not yet purchased the jets, I was intending to use old 911 jets, which are just small round bobbles. When wiring it up, the best way to do it is to relay it with the headlights so that you only get the lights squirted when you wash your screen and the lights are on. The wiring isn't in there for you but isn't exactly hard to do. E36 jets are quite nice too.

If the cables are obsolete, you can get them made up by speedycables of the likes of..

Camber etc after lowering NOW HOW TO DIY ALIGNMENT!
KipVR replied to eugopnosaj's topic in Drivetrain
If you've got coilovers you should set them up with the car on weights with the driver in (or suitable weight)and half a tank. Then once you've done that take it to a garage with a gyro setup. -
I've managed to lose mine somehow.....

I've been wondering about using HID's... KEV, when you change the bulbs or whatever in your car, check out the wiring inside your headlight. The chances are the wires will be shot. I ran rally bulbs for about 3 years, then when I changed my the glass I noticed the wiring was shagged from the heat build up. I'm prettey sure tis is why the mounting tabs break so easily too.

Hey Matt, I've just PM'd you, and edited it about 5 times since! Good luck with it :)

Saw this on build thread, I'm sure a lot of you have seen this, but for those that haven't http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.p ... -AWD-turbo

Petrol's costing me over 150 a week at the moment, takes the piss. I need a closer job!

I would have done buddy, but it didn't look that easy and because the cats are staggered you can't cross them over wilkinson style and at the time I thought it was relitavely easy to sort it out in the ECU, but it's transpired to be a little more difficult as I have a later one. Therefore rather than sending off the ECU I thought I'd have another bash at getting the 2nd lambdas in, as i'd rather do it that way anyway. It's a bit of an arse to get the exhaust down again but hey  worse things have happened! The Furniture Clinic stuff is perfect for restoration mate, i'll do my golf steering wheel when you come round and you can see for yourself. 8)

+1 They don't look that restrictive. I'm only thinking of removing one to make it a little more throaty, it's super quiet with the two CAT's on atm!
-
Sorry pal, jumped to conclusions! I'll let you know!
-
I'm not Ian, but yes I am, but keeping the silencer if that's what you're after! Sorry pal :D
-
Car's looking good mate, shame about the scratch though  little feckers. I had my wing mirror smashed off once, which wouldn't have bothered me so much if they hadn't dented the door in the process.... looking forward to seeing the interior pics. :D
-
Ahh cool, I should be able to purchase that section then. Thanks Ian.

Which box does the two box system do without?

Hi pete, I bet you're glad to be back soon! straight to the M5 too I bet. ....Yeah as expected i'm not going to finish it by the time you get back!! It would have been close though if it hadn't been for the cold weather preventing me from doing stuff... :D Any helping hand is always appreciated mate, you can help me with the exhaust again! I have two more lambdas to squeeze in, god knows where, a lack of space was the reason they were left out in the first place, those cat's are huge. Had a great new year thanks, and felt reasonable the next day all things considered... Yes buddy I did, I bought an extra large kit. Glad to hear it's durable! Mounting the plastics into the car I expected to scratch it a couple of times but yeah it's held up well. My overall opinion of the re-dying thing now that I've done it is that it would be awesome for restoring your leather seats to the same colour. Whilst the end result of the seats I've done is great, I'll always know that there are areas of leather that are still grey not red. Ok so you'll never see these areas unless you're a trimmer working on them but it somehow buggs the hell out of me that it feels like an unfinished job. On the other hand one of the main priorities for me was that the leather was stitched and patterned in a very oe manner, and trimmers so often get a re-trim looking very different, so the only certain way I was going to get what I was looking for was to do a re-dye. I love the oxblood colour against the mystic blue though, they go well together. When I've finished all the interior bits i'll get some good photos up of the end result.
