    my wheels

Good skills Aide, much better to keep on top of it now than let it slowly rot away as so many are......

    Corrado floor mats

I've got some from Autostyle, really good fit and finish, they made a boot carpet up for me too.
  3. Mine was a bit loose, so I did a similar thing and just fitted a pin that had a ever so slightly bigger diameter. It's totally fixed the play and still adjusts, it feels much better.
  4. Just pop round to your local windscreen fitters, they'll either sell you some or glue it on for you. Don't use the loctite stuff it's crap.
  5. The bottom anchor points are similar to a Mk2 Golf, only the Golf has a lap belt added to it, you could just use one of them. There won't be any problems with seat belt loads on the 7/16unf fixings and mounts.
  6. I found a bmw windscreen mount from an old 3 series in the scrappie (same as e36 ones) and glued it on with some windscreen glue. There are some pics in my thread somewhere, see my sig :-)
  7. I did do it in the end it as I use it a lot and loved the auto one in my wife's 3 series. I used a 3 series one with the 'clown's nose' which I've done as you mentioned and wired it up to the alarm led. There are as you say only a 12v feed, earth, 2xLED, and reverse cancel wires. It's nice and wide too so you can see out of the rear side windows!
  8. Lots of storms still about! I can understand you wanting to get a blue storm though. They are much faster. :-)
  9. hi buddy, I'm afraid it was a custom colour, done to an offcut I'd saved for years! Audi do a really nice dark red in the new TT though, it's similar to that, a bit lighter, I prefer the tt colour!
  10. Used this to paint them with btw.
  11. Started the wheel refurb. I tried to turn this thread into a blog to trim it down a bit, but it looked as if it would be a very long task so i gave up! If anyone has any good tips let me know! Few taster pics. Centre caps didn't fit.... So I turned the centres out of the SSW ones, and fitted the VW one inside. They look good poking out a bit (only the vw cap sticks out -not all of it), but needed to be colour coded to the wheel to match.. Go Compare Still have to put the clear coat on, and do the other 3 wheels!
  12. OK I'm attempting to make a blog of my own build thread, slimming it down at the same, not quite sure what I'm doing though!
  13. Is there a way of converting our existing members gallery threads to blogs?
  14. It's a very good point about the flex on the bulkead, they were all made thin in those days to enable them to press out the complicated shape. I'm sure you could brace it from inside though, ie brace the pedal box bracket to the underneath of the scuttle tray and down to the floor further, therefore reducing the load the bulkhead receives. Having siad that if you've got big enough brakes you shouldn't have to press so hard anyway :D . Congrats on the MOT Kev, mines up soon! My Mk1's clutch pulled through! Nice little brace panel sorted it though.
  15. Cheers Abdul, just wait to see the finished article before you judge the wheels buddy :D Cheers mate i'll bring it to a show or two for sure but probably won't actually 'show' it. The wheel debate goes on! I should put BBS on one side and my existing ones on the the other side! I like full face wheels, they are a bit less racer looking imo, but it's difficult to find anything that doesn't look like a Merc design, like the OZ Opera's Can I ask what belts you used? Front & back? Were they a straight fit or did the mounts need tweaking? Many thanks, Andrew Thank you for the compliments Andrew I bought some securon seatbelts, cut the ends off, slid the securon buckles off, put the VW buckles on, and then sewed the belts so that they had a loop on the end as per the VW belts. After I'd done all that I saw that you can just buy refurbed seatbelts online and kicked myself. http://www.quickfitsbs.com/rewebbing.asp Cheers Kev, I'm glad there are some wheel supporters! I'll win the others over in due course, they are currently blinded by the BBS light  Mine are currently off the car and being worked on! Funny you should mention the momo wheel, I was thinking to myself whilst I was doing it that I really hadn't moved on much in life, and that here I am at the age of 36 still spending every free moment I have messing with cars- exactly what i was doing at the age of 17, why is it that I feel I should put a VW symbol on my horn and that really I should be spending my time doing something that matters!! Then I decided that that kind of thinking was far too deep for me and carried on fettling my horn button into the night :D . If I'd put as much effort into my work life as i do with my cars then i'd probably be able to afford to pay someone to modify my car for me but where's the fun in that!
  16. Thanks mate, still lots more to come... Hi Rob, if you flick back a few pages you'll see the best for colour photo I have is of a front seat on it's own in my workshop. But all you have to do is pick a colour you like, anything at all, and send it up to them, they'll colour match it.
  17. Hey Pete, thanks for your help too, so much easier doing brakes with two people, I'm just about to go outside now and take all the wheels off leaving the car up in the air to get on with it, it's got to be finished by the time you get back!! Just driving it across town today made me remember just how nice the Corrado is to drive. I was also impressed by the ride from the dampers, it's turned out just as i'd hoped. Bet you made it back in good time!! 10 MPG or something :D Getting the paint from here..... http://www.alloypaints.com/paints-1-c.asp
  18. All the trimming would probably have taken me three weeks full time to complete it all, including headliner etc. I didn't actually glue the alcantara onto the headliner though, I paid to have that done by a professional with the proper glue. You'll see about the rims next week!
  19. cheers kempy! Hold out judgement on the wheels until you've seen what I'm going to do with them :norty: I'm hoping they'll look loads better :) I've still got undersides and stereo to put into the dash once I've finished installing the alarm etc (more like sorting out the complete mess made by the dealership). So I'll get some better pics of that once I've finished. Does feel a little newer I suppose, but it's not drastically different. I'll probably take it to a couple of meets just to say hello to some of the people on here, you'll have to pop along :D Fine no problems really, I didn't trim round the drivers mirror though as I never use it. I have just discovered though that when i put the passengers one down the light comes on and then if you push it up to the screen it blows the fuse so I think the current tracks inside are wrong somehow :censored: If you have any idea how long it too me to hand stitch them!
  20. Very bored of black. Don't like beige. Already own a car with grey. Always wanted red. (looks way darker in the flesh)
  21. Thanks guys! The leather looks much better in the flesh, as do the wheels but I must admit I've always been unsure about the wheel style, but I'm absolutely certain that they will look 100 times better without the diamond cut finish on them so I won't change until i've tried it. If I'm wrong then I'll stick some CH's on it, as they look relitavely oem but my RX's were so heavy and weak (went through 3 wheels in 5 years) its really put me off BBS, but I like them on the Corrado.
  22. Right got some better pics, although until i've actually finished the car I won't bother breaking out the SLR! Just gives you all an idea of where the car is at... Broke the rear view mirror off the windscreen today (crap glue), and sorted a PAS leak.
