  1. ok had another look today in the daylight! seems that they are only plastic spacers so I removed both then refitted the first one. Fits like a glove now, just need to clear the fault code when I get home :) .
  2. Thats exactly the same problem I am faced with! the second metal ring is slightly to big for the hole in the head. Have tried tapping it in with a bit of wood and a small hammer to no effect. Pain in the arse!
  3. Just came to swap them over as my old one is buggered. The new one from vag seems to have two magnetic rings near the base of the new sensor where as the old one I removed hasnt. And its the second ring which isnt allowing me to fit the new sensor, as its jamming on the edge/lip of the second ring . Has anyone else experienced this? I am thinking of maybe sanding down the second ring?
  4. WOW nice orange peel  try the meguiars scratch X seem to work well

    VR NOT RIGHT?

    How olds the fuel?
  7. could start off with a big bore throttle body.. then either cams/schrick and remap or go down the F.I route.
  8. Could well be. had to change mine a couple of weeks back, was making a nasty noise as the bearings were shot!. Its cheap ~ £25 from GSF and easy enough to change. Do a serach on here there's a guild somewhere to replacing the water pump, it's pretty usefull.
  9. Straight line the calibra would probably have the edge. Its also easier to tune. But the corrado will last longer, looks better, handle's better and is far less common IMO.
  10. Brought mine with 141k on the clock still on orginal chains clutch and head gasket. She runs fine and still makes 197bhp with a bmc and decat.
  11. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1366 Just remove the carbon canister and attach the hose and direct it to the hole where the canister used to sit. Job done.

    Airbag Fault

Yep the code needs to be cleared I am affraid. See the tread about vag-com as someone might be near thats willing to clear it.
  13. From memory I think the ventura springs are pretty hard! as thay are not progressively wound.
  14. BMC cda all the way 8) sound and performance.
  15. Its the crank case breather which feeds back into the inlet. It shouldnt be split. You can remove it and use a small breather filter and block the other end going to the plastic inlet pipe.
  16. Yep easy to replace, it's located above the coilpack under the end plastic lead cover. 1 x 6mm allen key from what I remember.
  17. Common problem on the VR6. Will cause poor performance if its shot (has been know to loose up to 30bhp ( think this was on kev's?)). Easy enough to replace around a 10min job. The part number for this is (W021 907 601 A) £40.73 including vat from VAG.
  18. 143k still on original chains and tensioners and still producing the goods. must'nt grumble!
  19. Gutting ! know how it feels
  20. Nice one! Getting it on the rr to she what she can do? Also only just remembered today about the manifold, sorry about that  . Pop me a pm if your still selling it.
  21. I ve used the search before anyone shoots me down  . I am about to fit a set of components in the front doors so while the cards are off I thought i'd change the pull handles to a set of chrome ones. Only thing is which one's fit the later corrado? Cant find a real answer on the search? Does anyone know for sure? :? Cheers Steve
  22. I relocated the carbon canister to run an airfeed down into the wheel arch. No engine bay heat , Works fine! I can get some pics on the weekend if you like?
