Welcome. I came from a dull  MKIV GTI to a VR6 corrado 3 years ago. You wont regret it! -
Good meet! will turn up earlier next time 8)

third plug from the left looks very clean -> suspect head gasket failure steam cleaning the plug.
-
Good going. One of the most noticable things on mine is having the injectors cleaned and flow tested(http://www.injectorcleaning.co.uk), made quite a big difference, mind you they had covered 150k.

Cant say I noticed much of a difference in fuel consumption after fitting my 268's (not mapped yet either). Try running on 97/99 ron fuel and check tyre pressures did you reset the ecu after fitting? Vince also advised me not to take it above 5k too much in this weather with it not being mapped.

Mine does pretty much the same as yours Paul. The cooling system on mine is all pretty much new (rad, ally crack pipe, water pump thermostat etc etc). I dont think its a problem so long as the fans keep the temp at 110

Red stuff pads are fine, its the yellow stuff which are track pads.
-
Using them on mine with no problems 8)

Just joined up. Should be able to make the next meet.

Yeah a deal on SIlky pro s would be great 8)

Thx to KADVR6 for meeting up and sorting me with a set of 16" speedlines. Top man.

I had a slight issue when fitting my 268's. The rear cam (near the exhaust manifold) didnt quite line up, like it was half a tooth out. It was all set to TDC and like you using the cam locking tool. It couldnt have been a tooth out as this would have trown the timing off too much either way. So in the end we refitted every thing and she's been fine ever since.

£25 max goes in to mine, cant be decreasing the power to weight ratio

Taping/Knocking Noise! Foreign Objects in Oil Pump!
steve @ replied to iceviolet's topic in Engine Bay
Yeah top of the tensioner pad and the two rivets by the looks of things. I would remove the top chain cover and inspect the pad, chains and guides asap! -
The standard bolt and cap, the holes are near the cap end so its pretty straight forward.(not having a go by the way 8) )

I think that may be for the 4 cylinder cars?
-
hey guys, after the hub nut size on the vr's is it 34mm or 36mm? cheers
-
Your probably loosing power with the open induction kit sucking in hot air. If your after more noise and a few more ponnies then I'd recomend you ditch the open filter and invest in a BMC CDA. As for the gauges, oil pressure at idle 2 bar hot, 5+ bar when cold.

GSF/Eurocar parts radiators (are they any good??)

Had to replace my non-gen copper rad last year, it had lasted a whole 2 1/2 years. Replaced with a gen Aluminium rad, the quality is so much better. -
stanley blade works best. Then just use a window cleaner to remove stickyness.

True £1k will buy you a supercharger, but you then need to look at uprating other items such as engine mounts oil cooler and then mapping on top. Dont get me wrong its a great route to go down, but not for everyone :)
-
Or if you search around you can find items like this for sale : BMC CDA £75 268's £140 Enlarged throttle £90 Decat £30 Exhaust £150 unichip £50 ~ mapping ~£150(yet to find out) with the above on a healthy engine should see 210-220bhp, not bad for under a grand. And if you can use a spanner all easy enough to fit.

Andy that will work fine chap.
