Have seen these on ebay. Look interesting but seem a little ££ for what is an easily machined part.

IS the noise constant? and really depends on the noise. Could be any number of things really, how are your engine mounts?
-
looks mint mate. Whats the spec?
-
remove the pipe to the throttle body and get some one to put their foot on the accel pedal to the floor, while you look to see if the butterfly is opening fully.
-
I dont think there is any real difference performance wise between the two. The main thing is cost and like you say changing over come mot time. I have been running a decat for 2 years, its only a 30min job to swap the bugger over when the time comes.

Yeah post your build Cata be interested to see your plans

I ve got a spare 3 , 4 & 6 I brought the lot fo Kev (cheesewire) so unsure of mileage but they are all in good condition. Have a look at those numbers and decide which would be best suited to replace No.1. call it £5 to cover a jiffy bag and postage.
-
Yeah no worries they are red oem beru's leads 8)
-
Hey chap I have a couple of spares. I'll try and dig them out and get back to you.

How do you find the ride compared to the weitecs? only reason I ask is I am running on weitec springs and find them a little harsh. Have been told the pi's give a very comfortable ride.
-
Looks really really tidy, loving the new wheels 8)
-
Got any details on the supplier? 8)
-
Whats your suspension set up just out of interest?
-
Check the gearbox mount. You can also use the mkII diesel mount which is stiffer than the hydraulic filled standard item.
-
Had mine done at 154K as part of the timing chain and head overhall although it was still going strong! 8)

VR6 turbo/supercharged (300-400bhp) with 4wd running gear has been done a few times. U'll need a golf syncro rear floor plan welded in. Think theres a few on here with it done.
-
Yeah possibly, also the filter it's self does look a little on the small side.
-
Thats right chap.
-
nice one mate, i hadnt realy thought about changing my red one but the chrome does look nice. are the rear badges easy to remove ? Yeah piece of cake, the VR6 badge is held on with double sided sticky tape.
-
Got one on mine also. Really fast shipping as well.
-
Thats what i used on mine. I also sprayed mine with high temp paint to seal the wrap which also stops the wrap from absorbing oil like you mentioned in a previous post.

If its the metal gasket and in good condition just re-use with a slight smear of silicon black on each side. Have done this a few times 8) If your after one I have a used upper and lower you can have for free.
