  1. Get it on vag com and get the error codes up. Does sound like you need a new lambda though, which is easy enough to change. Not sure what they mean by acceleration sender though LOL.
  2. Ask him exactly whats been done
  3. Probably the rr over reading. I ve been to a few in past that have given very optimistic numbers.
  4. Milage is not really an issue. mines on 151k and running like a dream. Only had to change the water pump and cam pos sensor over the last year. So long as its been looked after then there shouldnt be to much to worry about. Although i'd say its going to ride pretty poorly on 18's.
  5. When I sell the raddo (not for a good few years yet!) I can see my self missing it. Its a fantastic car! Having said that I dont miss my last car MKIV golf GTI, just didnt have that thrill factor about it, steering was to light with little feed back, and just generally plain boring. Still miss my clio 16 hybrid (williams engine + a few goodies) that was a great motor! quick to, 14.1 1/4 mile.
  6. Dont do it springs just around the corner! might as well wait a couple of months then decide!
  7. Very Harsh! gutted for you chap. As others have said hope it turns up and the feckers get caught!

you can down load the basic vag com for free, this still allows you to scan the engine. You just need to get a lead (loads on ebay) download the software and off you go.
  9. BMC CDA if far better than any cone filter. Top bit of kit!

Hard to say realy. You need to get it hooked up to vag-com software to scan the engine for fault codes and go from there.
  11. Hammerite! been using it on calipers for years with no problems. Use a good wire brush to remove rust/dirt etc, clean with brake cleaner then apply the hammerite. Make sure you leave the calipers to dry though otherwise you'll end up with paint splatter on your wheels.
  12. There is a group guy going on at the moment, get your name down!
  13. Still cant bring my self to fork out so much for so little. Think i'll just soldier on ....

    Spoiler

    Pretty sure its 54 Mph.
  15. I am not sure as I dont run these but I am sure I recall someone saying that the wipers need to be fitted the right way up i.e try a 180 ° flip.
  16. Yeah was about to say. Most probably your valve stem seals. For the time being could try running a thicker oil 10w50, 15w40, 15w50 etc to minimise the situation.
  17. I ve been in contact with Black Forest in the states who currently make up rated engine mounts for most VW's in various compounds, stage 1, stage 2 etc. They've been selling quite a few to the guys on VW Vortex who seem to rate them pretty well. They don’t ship to the UK but Justmatz are currently in the process of acquiring stock from BF. The good news is that these should be a fair bit cheaper than the likes of VT and VF. I ve just received an e-mail back from Justmatz who expect to have these in stock in around 2 weeks so watch this space.
  18. Welcome! looks like a nice example, any plans?
  19. I wouldnt use such a thin oil. go for synta silver , or if your feeling flush Silkolene pro S 10w50.
  20. LOL. Cant believe people r trying to drive on it!
  21. If it came with a decent & interesting engine i'd have one 8)
  22. TBH I think your gonna pull away from a s3 with a S/C Vr anyway. As there's not much in it when standard (Corrado anyway).
  23. Fuel will be pish so add some fresh juice. I'd change the oil and filter also be tempted to pull the plugs and drop a little oil in to the cyclinders. And crank it with the ht's off for a min.
  24. Just looked through this post, looks stunning!! Which front bumper is that fitted? really brings the front end up to date
