Depends on how you want to do it... If you want it to be as factory, then bare in mind that the VR6 used a different front suspension setup to the 4 cylinder Corrados... To do the conversion as per factory, you'd be looking at changing the brakes, suspension, subframes, engine, gearbox, wiring loom and probably a load of other bits too... How about a 20VT conversion? There's loads of people doing these now and they're relatively cheap/easy to do and to get some good power out of... 8) Or, you could go really over the top, and get an R32 engine dropped in! 8)

if the fuse is 20A you need some cable rated ABOVE 20A so that the fuse can do it's job...
-
did you make sure that the hole in the disk lined up with the fixing screw on the hub? These often shear off when disks are changed and are easy to miss. If it's not lined up with the hole, the disk will be on slightly skew-wiff and will cause vibration when braking...

kevhaywire, exactly what I was about to ask.... my Brembos actually shaved the tops off the stick on weights on my Borbets! :| I now get them stuck in the MIDDLE of the wheel so they'll clear!
-
it's possible, but you need new custom made drive shafts and gearbox mounts and you have to modify the rear subframe too to accept the new custom gearbox mount... Some of the 20VT guys will be able to give you more details as they've done it with their conversions... 8)

G60 clocks need to be used in a G60 car else the MFA won't work properly and it may effect the spoiler's operation too...

To do mine this time around I got the hoses from C&R (£24), calipers from Ebay (£85 8) ) pads, disks and bearings from GSF and haven't bothered with the plates as I'll probably end up taking 'em off anyway...  Oh, and a tub of brake calliper cleaner (£2.99) and brake calliper paint (£5.99) from Halfords too! On J-Dub, I got the complete kit from C&R just before the prices went up after they stopped requiring old MKII calipers instead of a surcharge, and used the already fitted disks and pads that were only 6 months old anyway...

ww-promo, they showed a car at last years Motorshow at the NEC which was labelled as "concept C" which was a convertable coupe style car... I think it was based on the Passat chassis... *edit - changed name from "project C" to "Concept C" *

they look Soooooooo much better detailed in black than the original chrome.... 8) Most impressed with your courage to be the first to try this! 8)

ah! that'd be why the interior sensors are sh!t too! I soooo want a new alarm system!
-
chrishill, Ah! That'd explain why mine had the handbrake switch disconnected then! :!:
-
secure + remote start?!? No such thing... If your alarm/immobiliser can be overcome with a single click and that also starts the engine then it ain't secure... I've got remote start on my Corrado which will be removed as soon as I can work out which bits to remove! Remote start also invalidates your Thatcham catagory and thus your insurance... :| If you're really set on keeping the car, get a GPS/GSM tracker on it which'll text you when the alarm gets activated... some of 'em also stop people car-jacking you by allowing you to kill the engine simply by sending a coded text message to the car! 8)

Think this should be in the corrado spotting thread really... I'll lock this up...

thanks mate... yeah, the shoulder popping thing hurts... funnily enough it's my thumb that's hurting the most and it's only a little bruise, but it's under the nail which is constantly pushing on it... :? I'm aiming to get her running again tonight now that I have movement back in my back/shoulder so I can get a little milage on her to find any teething problems I may have with the swap over... At least my A/F gauge arrived today so I'll finally be able to see what's going on there! 8)

Plugs and Connectors for Sub and Amp
Henny replied to Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
yup, we use 'em in our radio stations too... 8) -
Jimjam, there's one on Ebay at the moment... ;) They use a 2.5" (laptop) harddrive formatted with Fat32. The head unit comes with a cartridge which you put the HDD into (which is also a stand alone player) which slips in behind the face like a tape would. They can use any IDE laptop size hard drive... 8) Check out http://www.dension.com for details and stockists... 8)

may well be on a different fuse as the interior light is on a permanent live and the map light is on an ignition live (IIRC) which would point to different fuses...
-
The best way IMHO (and one that makes sure that it CAN'T work) is to disconnect the motor's power by taking off the inner cover on the boot lid and taking off the multiplug... ;) There's no way it can go up then and you don't risk anything else electrical being affected...

Powder coat or the Halfords own brand engine laquer is very good too... 8)
-
you need a sump baffle/windage tray... This is a classic sign of oil-starvation due to the oil slopping over to one side of the engine during cornering...
-
I'll be up for having a pair... so I can do one in each colour of my cars! 8)

g60_Pete, neither of my G60s rattle or squeak... you just need to make sure that all of the fixings and fasteners are in place in the interior to stop 'em from making odd noises... ;)

There's a Rolling road in Runcorn that is used by Wayne Schofield when he does mapping sessions... They're very good... I'll dig out their details if it's any use... 8)
