  1. billinjahg60, NEVER forget to put your seatbelt on from now on, and don't let your passengers travel without theirs on too... ;) those brakes are fricking awesome and the first time you have to use 'em in anger to avoid a dangerous situation you'll be sooooo glad you got 'em! 8)
  2. now I can appreciate the humour behind that one... as long as it doesn't damage anything and is easy to undo things like that don't bother me too much... 8) I like the colour contrast too... ;)  J-DUB got stickered at GTI Festival last year by the Dubforce mob... I kinda liked it so I left it on in it's rather jaunty angle across her rear!
  3. Good morning again Lippy! ;) It's nice to spot someone who you know from the forum... 8)
  4. Blown, yup... exactly like that.... 8)
  5. dinkus, sorry, but I'm with Del on that one... I still love the sound of a well played with flat4 engine... especially one that's got a supercharger bolted to it... ;)
  6. take the fuse out, clean up the contacts replace with a new fuse... ;)

    Suspension

reaper1_3, it's nasty... avoid it... Bouncy, crashy and just generally not good.

    Clutch Pedal

just as a side note, The reservoir actually has a divider inside it so if your clutch system does spring a leak, it CAN'T drain all of the fluid out of the whole reservoir and leave you with no brake fluid reserve... ;) 8)
  10. 3slat, no badges, no eyebrow... ker-plink - there's my 2p... 8)
  11. My FKs came with a nice little wiring diagram... 8) I'll dig it out when I get home...

    Lamb Probing?

that thin black plastic pipe is the one that feeds the back of the clocks with the vacuum so the MFA knows what's going on... Also, with it disconnected, you've got a vacuum leak which will make the car run like a sack of cack... Get it replaced and see what the car's like then... ;)
  13. my 1940cc G60 runs 9.5:1 compression ratio... The standard head bolts will take it... 8)
  14. yup... It's a ECP corrado G60 radiator (£79 + VAT) and it all fits nicely... 8) I've been looking closely at EBAY recently for other intercoolers and there seems to be quite a choice on there for good money... ;)
  15. just to confirm, if the lights on the top of the gauges are working, but the LCDs aren't, then it's almost 100% that it's the bulbs that are at fault due to the fact that the lights across the top plug into the power feed to the LCD's bulbs... ;) IE, the electricity has to go PAST the LCD bulbs before it can get to the other bulbs in the clocks... ;)
  16. CoxyLaad, sounds like one of the Cupra diesels... I got left on the wrong side of a road looking rather silly by a MKV Golf Diesel not long ago... I dropped a gear and booted it just as he booted it... I lost... BIG TIME! I think my conversion may end up being one of the new 2.0 diesels... 8)
  17. well, this weekend I went on a bit of a mission... 8) Took the engine and box out of J-DUB to prep it for fitting into H-YYU Fitted new MB Quart components to H-YYU Wired up new speakers to Amp with BIG FAT speaker cable Fitted serial lead to TrakM8 in H-YYU so I can plug it into my new palmtop when it arrives to use a GPS navigation device... 8) Test fitted 40mm offset Borbet Cs over Brembos - They fit with my 11mm spacer! Got local machine shop to start making me 4 more 11mm spacers Took 9 Borbet Cs to Top Marques for refurbing and discovered that one was a write off (funnily enough, the one that did most of the damage to the MKIII golf that pulled out in front of J-DUB! ) Re-fitted badly fitted alarm and finally got interior sensors working in H-YYU Cleaned windscreen (inside) so I can actually see out of H-YYU   Changed cambelt tensioner on H-YYU so it'll last until I can swap the engines over later this week...
  18. GIXXERUK, I was just about to write that... 427CuIn AC Cobra (yup, that's 7 litres!) Jenson Interceptor (if you can get one to run long enough!) 911 turbo (has to be an air-cooled one though) Austin Healey 3000 (pref. works prepared) Triumph TR4 (sounds the nuts, honestly!) Ford RS200 (completely nuts car with an amazing sound) As I work just up the road from Gav (and next door to MUFC's ground) and drive through Wilmslow every day, I see a lot of exotic italian and German cars around too, so I've only listed cars I've been out in... 8)
  19. without... (still looks good both ways though... 8) )
  20. some little git has nicked the valve caps off H-YYU... well, 3 of 'em anyway 'cos they were locking ones with a 1mm allen bolt in 'em to stop 'em coming off... They also smashed the window on the car next to mine and it took the owner a day to realise that they'd nicked the car battery... :|
  21. Congrats! They look rather nice... 8) On a related topic, If anyone has any Borbet C wheels in a 16x7.5" size which are 35mm offset, then they'll clear with only a 6mm spacer! My imported 40mm offset ones fit with the 11mm spacers I had made up for my 30mm offset ones. This is because (as I suspected) the dish of the 35/40mm offset C's is less than that on the 30mms which allows more clearance... 8)
  22. that's a mega clean engine bay! 8) Nice looking car... 8)
  23. most classic car policies start for cars at either 20 or 25 years old... :( Some specialist insurers will do limited milage policies, but it doesn't really knock a great deal off... :|
  24. cam cover gasket - GSF/ ECP Throttle body gaskets are VAG only IIRC, but if GSF/ECP DO sell 'em, then they'll be fine... 8) The fog/indicator surround is not available seperately, however, if you put up a wanted ad, you may be able to get some broken fogs with good surrounds for not a lot of cash... ;) 8)
  25. yeah, it's not a typo, it just gets around the site auto-censor... :P
