  1. If I had a 340BHP Corrado, I'd keep it VERY quiet and scare the living carp out of quite a few people at Santa Pod and several track days! ;)
  2. I bought a 12" one (DCSL 12) from Think-Auto and it's knocked the running temps RIGHT down... it's also a shed load smaller thickness than the original one and tidies the bay up LOTS... 8) It's only a single speed, so I've wired it up via a relay to come on flat out as soon as the low temp comes on, although I may re-wire it soon via a large resistor to give me the 2 speeds again... 8) I didn't bother with their relay kits, I just used a normal 15A relay from a local motorfactors and the original radiator thermo switch which kept the costs down lots... ;) Reply taken directly from THIS thread.... 8)
  3. problem with a second hand one is that you're gonna have to smash the living sh** out of it to get it out of it's mount... Get the Euro carparts one and never have to worry about it again... ;)
  4. sounds like your front engine mount could probably do with inspecting... ;)

    what ya think??

    Steve's in Le-Mans at the moment... ;)

    potentiometer g60

gplace, don't take it to Jabba sport, there's all sorts of horror stories about their work on G60s recently. The place to take 'em now is G-Werks... Contact G-man on this forum for details (he's away at Le-Mans at the moment though ;) )
  7. to reset the cables properly you need a special VW tool... Or lots of patience and trial and error... ;)
  8. fair point, point taken... glad you understood... 8)
  9. I reckon he's missed a "p" out of his name though... ;)
  10. if you phone to inform them of an accident or the possibility that someone else may claim against you (even if there's no damage to your vehicle) then it's marked down as a claim even if no-one ever puts in a claim against you....
  11. davidwort, what do you reckon the big flappy thing in the metering head is?!? :?: It's a mechanical MAF... ;)
  12. MillSpeed, there is enough clearance for 1 tooth out as long as you don't try and rev it to redline... ;)
  13. VEEDUBBED, ah, but that was a P/S rack without the pump running wasn't it? A non-P/S rack has different gearing to make it lighter... ;)
  14. H8RRA, problem then is that it's classed as a CAT C write off so if ever you sell it, you MUST declare that, AND it'll show up on HPI checks as a write off... (that's what I've had to do with J-DUB) simmyboy, get it over to a couple of body shops and ask their opinion on how to get it fixed and for some quotes... Because it's a hit-and-run style claim, you may find it'll work out financially better for you to get it repaired yourself rather than going through the insurance. :| DO NOT notify the insurance company that this has happened as they will mark it down as a claim even if you never actually claim any money from them... My missus has just been caught by this after a nudge in a carpark where her car wasn't even damaged...
  15. Shilakadaddy, the rallye one has the same core size as the golf G60 one, but, IMHO, the Golf one has better designed end tanks than the rallye one which should help the boost to flow better throught the system... 8)
  16. dunno, but I'd assume so 'cos you can convert a non-P/S GTI to P/S by simply fitting the pump, rack and pipework, so it must be the same for those... and according to that thread I started a couple of weeks ago, the P/S rack off a MKII should be able to be used on a G60 Corrado... :| Good luck! 8)
  17. Joe M, Yup, well worth it! 8) Shilakadaddy, depends which track and who's set it up.... Curborough is only £30 for as many runs on the track as you can fit in in the day for the Club GTI sprint day... It's not a big track, but it's soooo much fun and lots less risk 'cos there's no-one else on the track at the same time... 8)
  18. yeah, I don't think I'd do it if I didn't already have a mental petrol engined Corrado too... I'd be too tempted to drop in an R32 or similar instead, but with J-DUB being almost worthless now that she's classed as a CatC write off, the only way I'm going to make her worth anything is to do a photo documented re-build using a different engine which I should be able to get reasonably cheap... 8) The only thing that the car will have cost me is the parts for the repair (currently under £200 for all of the mechanical parts) a wing, some paintwork and whichever engine/gearbox I decide to use... 8)
  19. I suppose that if you're running what started life as a G60, you could just get hold of a MKII GTI non-p/s rack and bolt that in... The steering will be heavy, but shouldn't be that much heavier than it would be in the golf (there's not THAT much difference in weight between the two...) Interesting idea... Most people who drove my MKI 16V used to moan that the steering was mega heavy (MKI GTI quick rack with a 16V engine above it meant heavier than standard steering) but I lived with that for 3 years with no problems.... just ended up with more muscles in my arms! 8)
  20. stanbates, they were a bit cheaper at Inters 'cos it was a show... I think I paid £50 all in for the set I bought there... 8)

    G60 Brakes?

glad to be of assistance... 8)
  22. now that's just silly... (where can I get one?!? 8) )
  23. IIRC, you can get a stamp in the book for just an oil change... ;)
  24. I've not heard of that one before Samm... :? Odd... :| Del, a VR6 should be 18 with a storm sometimes being classed as 19... 20 is top group and there's no way a Corrado should be in there... :| Which insurance company?
