with dr_mat here... the VAG coolant system is designed to be pressurised and therefore CANNOT have any leaks if it is to run at it's maximum efficiency... If you're loosing water, you have a leak which NEEDS to be sorted out. There's a sticky thread around here somewhere which has a list of just about all of the common leak points on Corrado engines... 8) TRY HERE

OK, slightly later than planned (ADSL problems at home  ) The part number on the rack I bought from Inters is 192 422 055 (USA) Anyone know what that's off and if it'll fit a G60?!?
-
yeah, vacuum leaks and the split in the main inlet tube REALLY ain't gonna help your idle to be stable... Get 'em sorted and see how it is then... 8)

VEEDUBBED, Thanks! 8) That's VERY useful to know... 8)

Looks nice... shiney too! 8) Welcome to The Forum... :)

interesting.... :) The plot thickens... 8)

Really? Sorry, didn't see you, I was in my own little world at that point on Saturday... (and to be fair, for most of the weekend... )

In my accident with J-DUB, the steering rack has potentially taken a fairly heavy beating... I wanna replace it and have got hold of a couple of other steering racks cheaply which are in very good condition... problem is that I don't know enough about P/S racks to know for certain if they'll fit my G60s properly... :| The plan is to build up complete new front/rear engine subframes and transplant them into my Grey G60 with J-DUBs engine already attached so that I can make sure that EVERYTHING'S in tip top shape... The one off the Grey G60 will then be rebuilt and fitted to J-DUB with whichever engine I decide to put in there... ;) One of 'em I bought from Inters complete with a seam welded, powdercoated subframe, powerflex bushes and ARB which was supposedly built for a RHD Golf G60... (this will end up in the Grey G60 with J-DUB's engine, new wishbones, bushes, hubs, bearings etc etc etc...) The other I bought off Ebay and is reportedly a MKIII item... "Power Steering Rack suitable for Golf2/3 Jetta/Vento/Coraddo RHD good condition came from 97 car part no 1h2 422 061" My question is this: Are either/both of these racks useable on Corrado G60s, and if not, why not? They both appear to be the same externally and they both appear to have the same number of turns lock to lock as the rack on my Grey G60, as well as both having the same mounting locations and pipe locations as each other, and from what I can see, my G60s... It's not often I ask questions these days... Does anyone here know the answer to this for definate? I'll post up the part number from the rack I got at Inters later when I get home... 8)

Vince at Stealth... You want the best? That's his name... 8)

Welcome to The Forum... 8) Sorting out that pipe, and checking over the vacuum hoses around there will almost certainly sort out most of your problems... get a post in the "wanted" section for the bits you need 'cos I'm sure some people on here will have the bits you need... 8)

the Audi 80 ones are angled towards the driver too... 8) Basically the same idea as Andy's got but with the gauges set in at an angle rather than flush... :)
-
CNC machined standard heads with some serious porting/flowing work and reworking of the internal airways... From what he's said, they should give some rather pleasant power gains... ;)
-
Stroeve (sp?) do one, but to be honest, it's not really worth it on a valver... Drop in a K&N panel filter, and if you want more induction noise, drill some large holes in the lower part of the airbox and remove the snorkle from the front of it... 8)
-
dr_mat, nope, you need a Corrado set as the MKIII front and axle hoses will be different lengths from those you need... ;) IIRC G-Man can get these pipes made up at a reasonable cost... GSF also sells 'em and Awesome always seem to have 'em in stock when you REALLY need 'em urgently... (don't ask, long story! )

my PM box was full... one of the joys of being a Mod...  Anyway, got your PM at last and replied... 8)

randal, call me about the wheels... ;)
-
I like it silver... but then, I never liked your coded headlamp surrounds before you did the grill too... ;)
-
Corrados tend to run slightly hotter than golfs simply due to the design of the front end... the golf has a much larger front grill area to get air into the engine bay too cool the radiator and thus the engine... ;)
-
nope, the washer is fitted to the thermo switch in such a way that you can't actually get it off...
-
Got my Grey G60 through it's MOT yesterday.... all I needed to do was change the numberplate light bulbs... 8) Got home, put on the handbrake and BANG! the cable snapped... still, at least I got the certificate FIRST so I can tax the thing on Monday...
-
FurkiG60, been there, seen that, played with the idea and had 3 cameras fitted to J-DUB... ;) Went off the idea 'cos I still kept looking at the mirror instead of at the LCD...
-
yeah, in that case you need the LHD servo/mastercylinder and a few other bits too... Not mega expensive or difficult to do, but you need to know which bits you need BEFORE you start as you will have no brakes while doing the removal! ;)
-
fit an LCD screen and a small camera... No side mirrors required and you can still see behind you! 8)
-
dark smoke the lower halves and they'd look interestingly different and not too OTT on a light coloured car IMHO... ;)

195s look silly on a 7.5" Borbet C wheel... 205,45,16 are the correct size for the wheel, won't make the speedo read incorrectly and will provide some protection for the lip of the wheel too... Tyres are also readily available and are pretty cheap too... 8)
