bummer dude... I can hear the desperation in your post! ;) if the handle is lifting, but not releasing the catch, then it's not the lock that's at fault as this just prevents the handle from moving... IMHO it sounds like the mechanism inside the handle has either come loose, or has jammed on something inside the glovebox... Lift the handle as far as it will go, and give it a good tug... otherwise, I fear you're gonna have to break in with a lever of some sort... :? Good luck...

lol! don't worry mate, it's all useful info... ;) 8)

don't forget the pipes from the sandwich plate to the oil cooler!

90degrees Celcius will do you nicely.... (that's what I've got in mine anyway.... ;) )

Unless your belt and pulleys are toothed you WILL get belt slip, you just may not notice it until you get a toothed conversion on there! ;) Even a standard car will get belt slip on the alternator as you turn on something BIG like the main beam or heated rear screen... it takes a few moments for the alternator to catch back up with the engine speed, and this is exactly the same with a supercharger when you drop it down a gear, or suddenly boot the throttle which is when you most want the instant-ness of the supercharger...

HOW dodgy do you wanna make that sound?!? ;) good to meet you too, shame you weren't in the 'rado though... would have been nice to see yours..... glad "the package" is gonna be helpful... 8)

I'm pretty certain that the outside temp sensor is ONLY used for the MFA display, so there's no way that this should be able to upset the MFA... Dunno about the inlet manifold temp sensor... that's where you hit VR things that I've no experience of... :?
-
don't discount it just 'cos it's new... ;) Had one that I took back 'cos it was DOA... It's worth checking it with a multi meter just to rule it out once and for all... :)
-
change the blue coolant temp sensor... for the sake of £7 it's not worth overlooking... ;)
-
oooh, knowledgable too... 8) *edit* just read this back and realised this could be taken the wrong way, so I'd like to point out that I'm not taking the micky here, I'm genuinely impressed with your taste and knowledge in cars... you're definately a rare find... 8)

http://www.gpcvwaudi.com sells 'em... 8)

dead shocks tends to cause this kinda wear along with under inflation of the tyres if it's on the outer edges of the tread only...

could be a buckled brake disk protector (the heat shield that is behind the disk) may be just touching your disk and making the noise... Have you checked the state of your pads? they could be worn down to almost nothing which would make a similar noise to that which you describe... :| It may also be the vibration damper on the driver's side driveshaft... these have a habit of splitting and then floating around on the driveshaft... mine did this and was knocking on the heat shield which is supposed to cover it making a similar noise...

mmmm... Cheers Rodders... that red and white KG is lovely.... The green one's nice too, but I prefer the lights and general colours of the red one! ;) Shame they're both left hookers though... :| I should have got the details on that one at All Types... Good grief Ka, you're a bit af a rarity... A lady with proper taste in cars! 8) Corrados AND K-Gs... :D

yup... there's a bloke running a Golf TDI on veg oil in Manchester.... you get this lovely smell of fresh chips as he pootles past.... ;) Most Diesels can run on Veg oil with very few modifications to the car... the oil needs a little bit of refining, but it's not difficult or expensive to do... 8) -
Sounds lovely, but: ;) 8) Congratulations... I can't wait to see pics of it... :)
-
yeah, I'll second that about those wheels... they look original fitment they suit the car that well... 8) Looks really nice in general too... 8) Gonna have to do a tour of the lakes one weekend once I've got my chip sorted.... sounds like heaven on e nice day... 8)

don't forget the rubber bush! ;)
-
sounds like you're counting the minutes there, dubbprince! ;)

we need someone to test this... I still reckon it'll work, but I'm happy to be proven wrong... 8) *goes off to find some green bulbs....*

I've seen 2 different designs for these... one clips under the rear window's rubber seal to hold it in place (it may even clip onto the glass at the top too, I didn't look too closely  ) The other one is just stuck on using sikaflex... :?
-
yeah, it's basically a slight cross between Passat and Golf... following the Golf manual as a rule of thumb probably isn't too bad an idea, but don't take it for gospel! ;) 8) Dunno about the fans though, my G60 only has the one fan... (and that's an aftermarket one now! ;) )

Bobbywhacker, that's a standard US spec front bumper which has been "flushed" into the bodywork with a couple of tubs of filler by the look of it... I agree with Phat on this one, get teh flapper disks out and put on the face mask and goggles and go mad! 8) shouldn't take tooooooooo long to get it back to metal with no filler on it... 8)

ya can fit a third brake light to anything if you try hard enough! ;) (I do tend to agree though, it does look a little too small to get one in... :? )
