This was a H plate big bumper 8V which should have had the 14" BBS on it... ;) (had one which was IDENTICAL... 8) The MKIII was a straight red 16V... 8)

will be running mine up the strip sometime soon... just waiting on my new chip.... 8)

dunno... I tried blue briefly using a blue filter (professional lighting gel film) which gave a very nice blue colour, but was no where near bright enough... :| It may be possible to do it this way if you can get hold of some brighter bulbs... I've been playing with a set of MKII golf G60 clocks for a mate using blue LEDs and that seems to work OK, but soldering them onto the circuit board is an utter pain in the ass 'cos it's sooooo easy to over heat the plastic circuit flim and melt it! :|

the LCDs are ALL backlit with a bulb per LCD and a green filter just behind the LCD screen... 8)

I used the search! ;) To quote Bevis: Bosch 0 280 150 905 Greens 240cc per min

yup, the G60 has 2 bulbs in the lights switch... 1) When the ignition is turned on, the light symbol should light up so that you can see it when it's dark inside the car. 2) when on sidelights, the center indication should light up Green to let you know you've got your sidelights on... When you are on dipped, the illumination in the clocks will be on to let you know you've got your lights on, but BOTH lights in the switch will be off... Oh, and they aren't LEDs, they are wire ended bulbs which are an utter sod to replace...

yeah, I went yesterday too (best mate is a mechanic and got us tickets... £18 each! ) Did you notice the mistakes with the 5 golfs though? The MKI had a body kit on it, was a late A plate one and had aftermarket BBS wheels on it... oh and the GTI badge on the front grill was in totally the wrong place... The MKII was wearing the wrong wheels (15" BBS's) And the MKIII had split rims on it! There were some really nice cars there and some god-awful ones too... At least 90% of the women were stunning though! 8) here's a few hi-light pics though... 8)

I've been happy with the quality and fit of the goodridge hoses that I've had on my last 5 modded cars... 8) It improves the brake feel massively... :D
-
nope, just what I saw at the motorshow... I have heard a rumour today that someone's already tried and tested this on a VR6 though, but I'm yet to verify this... 8) I have no idea if this car is available yet... the rather attractive young lady on the stand who I was talking to about the car didn't know too much about it, but was nice to talk to anyway.... ;)

hey guys, it's worth remembering that the corrado has 2 different sizes of petrol tank!  I've got the larger tank in mine and tended to get around 340 miles outta a tank on the daily commute into and out of Manchester... On a nice long cruise to Cornwall I got just over 450miles though  I was well happy with that... 8) At the moment I'm getting just under 300 outta a tank 'cos the engine's not been set up properly yet and I've set it to run rich all the time to prevent me from melting it! ;)

EXCLUSIVE!!! Photo of the NEW Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport's front brakes and wheel... Notice, 16" rims and 5 stud fitment with 4 pot calipers... Who's gonna be first to see if they can get hold of these and if they'll fit a VR6 Corrado?!? 8) 8) 8)
-
IIRC, they're around the £350 mark depending on which supplier/manufacturer you get it from...
-
I think I'm now back at the beginning again... The bits I replaced when I first bought the car are the ones that are starting to fail again... :|
-
yup, just pull out the 3 bulbs along the top of the cluster... leave the other 2 in, else you won't be able to see the LCDs at night... ;) 8) The bulbs simply turn to pull out... 8)
-
it also displays the results as fish too... ;) (don't ask, you need to see it to understand! ;) )

what is the PCD of the BMW? is it 4x100 which you'll need for them to fit your G60... I've read that you'll be able to fit 'em using spacers of around 10mm with a 25mm et at 9J width, although some arch modifications may be needed to get 'em not to rub... :|
-
not sure at the moment 'cos it's not been setup yet... It feels up on the power it had before already though! 8) Should be interesting to see what the rollers show when I get the chip written.... 8) Keep watching folks... ;)
-
Looks good, but make him clean it!  8)

someone has deleted your double post... you'll have to re-attach your pics to make them work again... :|

quite a few of us on here have pretty much rebuilt our cars ourselves, so home servicing is definately not frowned upon! ;) The 16V lump is a great engine, I've not got much experience with the 2.0 flavour, but the 1.8 is almost bomb proof and they're VERY similar! 8) In my younger (and more stupid! ) days I once drove a 16V from Liverpool to Manchester with no coolant in it... It was fitted into my MKI Golf and the temp gauge had never worked properly, so I just ignored it  Obviously it blew the headgasket in a pretty major way and warped the head somewhat... my mate skimmed it for me and took huge amounts off it, but it started first time when we got it back together and was still rock solid until the day I took it off the road... 8) Like I say, bombproof... 8)
-
yup I used sticky back velcro on my first 'rado... 8) Only thing is that it makes a ripping noise when you open the boot which can make people a bit worried the first time they open your boot for you!

that sounds like the rheostat (variable resistor) on the main lights switch has gone tits up... they do this occasionally... Take the switch out from the dash (it just pulls out, lever it gently with a flatblade screwdriver) and disconnect it from the multiplug... you can now see the workings of the variable lighting part... check to make sure that the sweep arm is making a good contact, and clean it all with something like WD40 or switch lube, then see if that's any better... 8)

yup... white grease is EXCELLENT for sunroofs too... 8) Most decent motor parts stores sell white grease in a spray can for a reasonable amount... 8) It's also good for door hinges too... 8)
-
yup, I knew that too, dr_mat, so I'll back your "bull" up... 8) Only thing is that I wouldn't have been able to spell "onomatopaeic"
