33hz, Passat ones! Iam not the man to speak to! The guys on here that know what fits what. It doesnt have to be on theis page, it could be a link or anything to give us access to the info.

How does this sound! For all the bit and bobs we need, sometimes you just have to try a scrapyard. We could have a section that helps people know what bits they can get that cross reference to certain vehicles. We could have the popular bits that go wrong, like the passat sunroof idea and so on. Just an idea, I know I woulod rather go to a scrapy and think, ' ok, I can get thios bit from a Golf'. I will see what response it gets from the moderators.

jims16v, Jim, you sound like a funny bloke, I will make apoint of meeting you when we're all at the next event. :D

Darren, I have ordered the Koni coilovers. I heard the FK's dont give as good a ride as the Koni's. Well, they will be ordered tomorrow morning. I am just deciding what height I should drop it by. I would like a slammed VR. Have you seen PVW, there is a yellow Golf VR6 that has the wheels I want. Th eproblem is, a chap in town already had a slammed G60 and those rims and it just looks better than anything I've seen. Its so clean, low and subtle and always gleaming. He once asked me for directions when we were in our VR's and he said to me nice car, get it lowered!! I hope to see him with mine on the floor! I know people who want Fk's so I will let them know you can get good prices!
-
The normal price is around that figure if not more, it is well easy to do and the gas actually cost the engineer around a tenner so its a good business! He said he would fit the system for me for free, all I need is the system!!!!

I have a BMC - CDA carbon direct airfilter that im not using. I have had offers from fellow C' owners from the F and last night my mate showed me his engine bay and he had polished the . Hes got a civic and it looked ok. He looked at my engine and said that he could do that and where was my filter. Basically, the deal could be, he gets my filter and he polishes my VR6 head. Should I do it? How expensive is the polishing on the head to get it nice and clean and shiny. Crazy man had his done when he bought the car and it looks sweet. What do you guys recon? I have had offers around £70 quid for my filter and this mechanic already has a RAM air induction kit that he will take off his car as he knows how good BMC filters are. He works for powerflow as the main exhaust fitter if anyone wants a good deal on a powerflow exhaust in the Bournemouth area?

GazzaG60, er..yes! Have a look mate, the one on E bay that scotcorradog60, said to have a look at. they are more pink than purple! 8)

I have a chap who opwns his own company called Cool care, he is monbile too and would charge people I know £50 for a regas. So anyone in the bournemouth, poole or willing to travel, give me a shout and I will forward you is number. He has done many things to my Corrado as he is an engineer, including fixing my sunroof and helping me with all my odd and sods with the C so he already has experience with these cars. Dont mean to iron your post Andi, but you are in a slightly different area and the more aid we ca give the C enthuasiasts the better I say! :D

That car on ebay has pink calipers!

Rawhide, The guy who sprayed my VR had something similar, he enter competitisons and he said his bike is extremely quick, it sounded so lound when he gave it some revs. Your bike looks nice mate, I always look at the bike as a nice toy, I would love a GSXR1000!!!! mmmmmm
-
Thats perfect, thanks! I have some jap biker mates, they are so crazy. I dropped my car off to John Mitchell in West Sussex from Bournemouth, my 2 mates were behind me on th ebikes and I was doiung 80 on a dual carrage way, windows down, music up and just relaxing and looking behind me and feeling like I was being escourted ! All of a sudden the 6 just absolutely flew past me on the inside and made me jumo, then the other 6 went for it and the speed in which they flew past me, they we literally hanging on, one of the guys is a really good rider, his back wheel was twitching when his was banging the gear in, then he had his kness on the ground round the rounabout and he was leaning so far over it just made me think, sod the car, I need bike power. All in all it was a laugh on the way up and back, however, they said it felt like they were in wet suits due to the heat!!

The fact the material is so thin makes it extremely easy to clean. I used Auto Glym interior cleaner / shampoo, strayed it on and with a damp cloth wipe it clean. I had oilly marks when I was fixing the sunroof and even they came out and it looks brand new. Just do it on a cool day or you end up dripping as the motion to wipe upwards is always harder!

I am awaiting a price tomorrow for them! I will buy the cheapest set obviously, they are as good as ordered when the price comes back to me. I was quoted 680 from Venom. How come?
-
I have just taken out a loan and bought the car!!! I gave him the asking price and its lush. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I wish I had seen it sooner!
-
All your points are well valid. I have just bought a set of Koni adjustables and they get fitted in the next week or week after so I will hopefully become attached to her again as I hate the high look!! Also, when you are pushing the car hard I have to be ultra caucious as the car does feel loose, I used to own a Mk2 Golf GT1 on Avo coilover and that car stuck to the ground! Its the first car I have owned thats been on just eibach springs. I couldnt afford all the things at once as the car needed alot of work after the accident. I will give it some though and get my licence and take it from there.

Mate I was told to use the stuff that VW sell by a mechanic but talking to a chap that I became mates with at VW he said our mechanics use castrol GTX Magnetec. He said they use that in their own cars too so that says to me its a good oil. I have used it in my VR for a while now, its not over priced and protects from the moment you turn the key. I used loads of it before as I had a broken down head gasket, so I cant give you an accurate amount of what I use. I had the head done a few weeks ago an dI checked the level and it was fine. When you top it up, dont top up to the max line, always keep it above min and just under max was what I was told by a vw mechanic. Maybe thats due to damaging your engine if you over fill it?

I was thinking of a Nija 600, around a P plate, you can pick them up for around £1500 - onwards. I am sensible, so I know I would do anything stupid, well saying that, when im in the car, I do go a bit crazy - Crazyman on here will vouch for that! I know the kind of things that get you killed, I suppose over taking down the centre with traffic either side of you is just a death door waiting to be opened. I took a 600 Nika out for a day a few saturdays ago with my girlfriend on the back, I had her fully leathered up and booted like myself and we went down to Poole harbour and we went for it a few times and the speed makes you respect the bike so much! We then took the bike out again and I was getting more confident and wanting to wheely the bike, but I was safe and we were flying down a dual carrage way and it just felt fantastic. The misses said she would leave me if I bought a bike, her cousin died in a motor cycle accident and he was known as a good rider, he had 32 people around his bead when he was dying out of respect for him and his riding so I can see her point. Now she is saying I should just save the money so we can buy a house!! If everyone is like me in the sense that when you have money your brain just doesnt stop thinking what to put the money towards, hence a bike or do up the VR. Thanks for your replies guys, I will make some enquiries and see how much the insurance will be and calculate the running costs. I might just book my test and have the licence ready! Have any of you lot got bikes? It would be a nice site seeing the blade and VR all sparkling and ready top be spanked! 8)

My VR is looking really good, once its really low I will be happy with its appearance. I have just had a full re spray and its the burgandy deep colour and looks wicked, new 17 polished kahns and new head gasket and loads of other stuff. I could just slam it and get the leather recaro seats and buy the bike! The rush is just completely satisfying and you know you have to be wise to everything, I suppose it makes the feeling more intense being on 2 wheels as you have to saty on those 2 wheels, unless I have opened her up at the lights! Anymore ideas guys? I will have a fat bike in the summer, so it will keep the miles down on the VR and in the winter I cruise my nice VR? I think I am talking myself more into the bike! Dont worry, I wont do anything stupid and sell the VR for a bigger bike, well I hope not.
-
Now I am 21 I can take a direct access to get myself a nice power full bike, I have always loved the feeling of racing on a big bike and the speed is like nothing else. I went for a large ride with a friend on his Nija 600, which is reasonable quick in bike terms and when we got into the car it was nice to just cruise. I suppose I had released my built up energy on the bike. The question is, do I buy a nice bike or get my VR supercharged and really go to town on it. It doesnt help when we have nice weather as I think it would be fat to go and caine the bike !! Help friends!!

It just ,made me laugh to read one of the previous posts when the chap said he heard what sounded to be like dripping water. I had a fit when I got home and switched off my baby after a minute or so to let her chill out and then I heard loads of falling water. I was tired and a bit sleepy. but I started to really show concern , then I realised it was someone washing the dishes and the water was running down the drain pipes!!!! I said to myself - get some sleep Rams! It sounded so close like it was my car!

I have also heard that keeping your standard air box can be benificial if you take out the CC and cut a hold in the bottom of the airbox - the same size as the diameter as what the CC used to house and a special panel filter as the air box gives good air circluation and you use some air ducting to supply the air box with direct air so the engine can suck in a good amount of cold, clean air, more so that just sucking in small quantities. You also get a good sound as the plastic resignates off each side of the box, so its a cheaper mod and maybe more benifical. I am still not 100 percent convinced, I would like to take the car along to get tested on the rollers to see what differencre these after market filters make.
-
You vent the pipe back into the air box! So you should be fine. I am off, its time to leave work, speak to you monday.
-
Mate, you really wont ahve any problems without it. It was mainly an American thing anway as their emmissions are much more resctrictive. Seriously, if you ditch it and get your emmisions checked you wont notice a difference!

engine cuts out in traffic after engine temp reaches 112+
Rams replied to thinksmart's topic in Engine Bay
You dont mean the opil temperature on the MFA do you? The gage opposite your fule is the water and the MFA is the oil temperature and outside temperature. Please excuse me if you already knew this. I wasnt being funny.
