  1. Do you mean Wimborme in Dorset? Im from Bournemouth so may see you around! I didnt know Texaco did Super plus???
  2. There was something my mate forwarded me earlier, a new system that has remote start, turbo timer and bags of other additions for £150, we are in the process of checking it out. If you e mail me your e mail address I will forward you the link!
  3. They call it dual proxy!! :D
  4. They set your code, excuse my spelling - storseeker - joke, Valet code but make sure you change it to something you remember. You can change the chirps to set the alarm, so make sure you tell him what chirp you want. Its good you have your C secure now! I have a bat in my bed room and my car is under my window so if the alarm was ever to go off, I would be straigh out there naked, or clothed and waving it around.Easy, waving the bat around!!1
  5. You need to speak comminiacte with your C and tell her not to miss behave again!! Joke, I have no idea mate, have you had a look at the engine, maybe a short somewhere?
  6. Na, they are quick, they do get going around the mid range but the G60 will kill the williamS clio. My mate had a williams and would never race our other mate with the C g60.
  7. Mate, you could turn your question around for it to be a good point. The more air you feed in the better. You cant have more power and less fuel!! Have you noticed a difference in the pic up at all? We all want the most power these machines can produce and with 40 MPG, NOT HAPPENING!!
  8. The discs and pads are cheap as chips from German and Sweedish. I use this vey set up, I am definitely going to change the sequence for Tarox dics and a good pad. The pagid setup releases far too much break dust and they squeek even after I had them copper greased and filed, they just build up quickly. I suppose thats a good sign, it means you are working the pads, but the daddies to have are the kevelar pads, minimal break dust and a much better composite for heat. I have no idea how much they are, probably a lot, but brakes could save your bacon!
  9. stormseeker, I did it on puropse!! Gage, gage, gage, gage, gage, gage, gage!!!!! Just you wait, I will be checking your spelling and be sure to get a fat e mail stating your error!! Revenge is always sweet :D :D :D :D

    MFA Oil Temp

I was racing a Ferrari 355 Spider, my friend own it and hes not shy when he drives it!! He gets worried when he sees me looking for oppertunities that dont exsist!! How do I check my oil cooler and that its working fully?
  11. If I like the gage, I would like to find the partner to it, obviously for a different filed. Could you show me a pic?
  12. I need to do this mod at some point...... My mate had them fitted in his G60 but you could here the gage like it was ticking all the time and the louder you went the noiser the ticking was. A mechanic said it needed bleeding, he had it done and it still made a noise. If someone can re asure me that they are all not like it and if anyone can show me some close up pics that would be cool. I take it oil pressure and voltmeter would be the favourites on a VR6? Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. If you get the alarm that has these features then they will come with instructions. Justy check out the insurance side of things with the alarm as this could affect the rating i.e. cat one cat 2 etc. It shouldnt be that hard, but be prepared for wires comming out of your ears mate. Never be defeatest!!!!! If you have a mate that can help you who know electrics, then it can be quite amusing as you can annoy him by saying, so where does this go, and why is that like this!!
  14. The parts that hold everything to the chassis, sorry, I dont know the term but these have bolts similar to the bolts you have that hold the bumper on and I had a weird noise and movement and took the car to get checked, basically to make sure everything was tight and he said yup, its all tight under there and I still had the problem. I took it to a friend of mine that used to sort my golf out and only used to charge me tee and coffee money. He then checked them and used a bar to get more stength on doing the bolts up, he tightened them up quite a bit and the problems was solved. You really need to take it somewhere who know what they are doing. If you think about it, the first garage was using a wrench, the amount of hold that this part plays in massive so they need good bolts and nice and tight. The steering felt more precise and like it was a newer car.
  15. duncanthemad, Just get in the car with the handbrake on and select 1st gear and lift the clutch slightly and get a mechanic or person to see if the engine moves alot. Obviously its going to move, but just check for excessive movement and then work back to the last time you changes the relevant mount. There are other ways, I hope the way I gave you wasnt too cowboy, otherwise its a bar inbetween the mounts and move the bar to gage the movement.

    MFA Oil Temp

my oil temp reached nearly 120, is that excessive? i have not long had the headgasket done!
  17. I know what you mean about some of those problems. The one I am convinced may be a problem is the centre of the wheel, even with the tracking done, it still wonders sometimes. I know this is grately affected by the camber of the road, but it may be the steering column. Since my accident I am always dubious that the rack needed doing. The body shop said it was fine as the tie rod arms are made in such away that if your in an impact they bend due to their shape and helps protect the rack. I may just replace it anyway as I am going for the perfect drive and I will get there! Suspension plays alot in the game of steering, all bushes and joints. The anti roll bar bushes are important that they are in good condition. If they have never been replaced then I would do them. If your car is lowered it wont behave as well as normal height cars from holes, little bumps in the road, but thats the sacrafice we have to have in order for it to handle better when you are being more demanding of the car. I tried travelling in a straight line and turning the wheel right and left, only a little and seeing if the car is reacting. It is very difficult to notice, but im sure it would steer better with a new rack. Could be your sysmptoms

    My 16v

The paint works looks perfect from here! Nice one mate, just dont smash it up like I did!!
  21. They are good cars IMO. My mate had one for ages, the engine bay is crammed tight. If you want to change the alternator, you have to take the headlight out!! Silly things like that, but they are quick, and fairly comfortable cars. Its easily lowered as the rear is a torsion bar. If the condition is good, and its a geniune car then thats a good price, most of the ones I've seen around are well over 3000 / 3500 plus

    My Project

What with tyres? Are they real Kahns?
  23. It very much depends on the alarm. Most alarms these days have the option of wiring them to the central locking, if not there is a kit you can by in addition to the alarm that will make your car keyless. Micrscan do the system, however, just ask your fitter which alarm would wire up to my central locking. Obviously, your car has central locking. I wasnt sure as it is an American spec. Even if its not central locking, you can buy the mech to work it and to wire it up to the keyless entry. Hope that helps
  24. The fact its comming up through the steering collum may suggest that the wires around the column may need attention. Also, check at the back on the engine where the main wiring loom is and make sure these are ok and protected. Take the steering cowling off and have another look, you need to be carefull I think. Theres no smoke without fire!
  25. Plastic burninmg smells can come from relays? My indicator relay did it once on my golf and its a really stong smell and tiny amount of smoke. You need to pull the relpays out as they could be burned out from the inside. When you atke each one out, give them a smell and see if you can find which one it is. Do you run a sub / amp? Does the stereo work and all other related items, such as the fan, brake lights etc?
