  1. everything is the same apart from the MK4 caliper and banjo flexi pipe. depending which caliper you buy you may need to modify the handbrake lever for the cable.... mk4 had a ball end to the cable the corrado has a cylindrical end. may be of interest http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=40893
  2. I normally do mine between 10 and 15 psi so I don't pressurise the system too much, I've always used my pushbike tyre. think the booklet suggests 20psi
  3. these fit and work well.. got them on mine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK3-VR6-MK4-TDI-TURBO-CORRADO-REAR-ABS-RING-C509-/190865747305?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item2c707c2d69 or try VW Spares http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_brakes.php you can buy pagid disc from eurocarparts withthem already fitted
  4. Watched the last half. Classic car rescue on 5 tonite... Fiat 500
  5. looking good sean... plugs.... I bought from ebay.. you can buy them individually NGK BKR 5EKU but do check... less than £20 delivered a few months ago.
  6. is there any reason these have any value.... they would have the wrong reg number and be out of date.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/collectable-old-Ford-RS-Cosworth-Xr4x4-Vw-Corrado-Vr6-Road-tax-licence-discs-/151279112361?pt=UK_Car_Parts_Vehicles_Automobila_ET&hash=item2338f010a9 I maybe missing the point
  7. was looking at the wiki "how to aerial" and this picture shows a square black grommet. assume that's the main seal between the roof and aerial to stop water ingress. if I took the aerial off is their a square hole in the roof ??? http://wiki.the-corrado.net/image_more_new_boot.html
  8. UPDATE.... grommet arrived this morning. managed to change in 10mins..... old one fell apart when I took it off using a plastic spatula. put the new one in hot water to go soft while I polished the roof. new one went on a treat with a bit of clear sealant round the edges. thanks for the advice.... so no need to take the aerial off. out of interest is this the only seal between the roof and the aerial or is there one between the thread and nut when you tighten it down.
  9. I was tempted with 928 this week after seeing classic car resue. Anyone else see it. I will be wanting a fiat 500 next week after next weeks prog.
  10. Don't think there is much difference. It's just not to vw spec. I was unsure so rang castrol and asked.
  11. cheers guys..... think I will do it the safe way..... ebay gasket ordered. will report back when its done or need further help :)
  12. any tips for getting the old one off ???
  13. ta.. spotted that.... can you actually just prize the gasket out an slip the new one over the top like it suggests in one of the ebay adverts...... roof lining never been removed before so prefer not to take it down. but don't want to do a bodge job or damage paint.

    roof areial

before I get too involved need a bit of advice..... the plastic roof aerial oval gasket where it sits on the roof is getting very brittle and starting to fall apart..... can you buy new and where from..... and how difficult is it to change assuming the gasket needs to be threaded through the aerial cable from the stereo end it could be a bit of a task.... also do I need to get the complete headlining down.....
  15. chris if you want the correct spec the Castrol syntrans is what you need... but not the multivehicle stuff Halfords sell. I made the mistake buying it. you need the syntrans transaxle... I bought mine from opie oils ebay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Castrol-Syntrans-Transaxle-75W-90-Synthetic-Transmission-Fluid-75W90-1-Litre-1L-/181234163972?pt=UK_Vehicle_Oils_Lubricants_Fluids&hash=item2a3265e104. you need 2 pots takes about 1.5 litres. if you want to double check like I did Castrol website is your friend... type your reg in. the transaxle stuff is the correct vw 505 or whatever the spec is for the car...... red line is also okay.... again you need 2 pots
  16. thanks for that... I got caught last month when I bought a left hand drive steering wheel.
  17. could not do full link for some reason anyway click on the corrado menu on the left, then the corrado picture then the car door then the Volkswagen badge on the right and it's on the third page....
  18. discussed recently... round about £15 delivered from classic parts no point in buying used at that price... http://www.vw-classicparts.de/shop/
  19. I think the rear for the vr are the same for the 2 litre but do check. I found a cross reference site on the web.
  20. Snr and SKF were standard figment from new. They had 2 suppliers. On my vr I took the orig out and they were snr which is what europarts sell. I actually replaced with SKF. The cross ref for a vr if you look on ebay are SKF vkba 529 rear Front vkba 1491
