Still on the same number mate :) Just been slack and not replied to my texts then!  You know there's now another meet near the old one I use to run? Be good to see you! Hmm text me again as i havent had any texts off of you for aaaaaages. My number ends in 025  Yeah i keep meaning to come to a meet with you guys. Tbh not been that bothered to do anything with my car since the break down and it being slow again :( i havent even cleaned it for a few weeks! And as i am not working at the min i have only been using about a tenner a week in fuel in it! I start a job monday though so if it all goes well and i stay there then i will b earning and so can afford to stick a tank of fuel in and come down to a meet ... and the more important things as well like strapping a turbo to it :D

I think it all depends on whether the car was baked after the respray. If it was i think its safe to wax fairly soon but if it wasnt then you have to wait a few months for the paint to fully harden.

Yeah sounds about right actually  My one played up big time getting off the ferry after my trip, was a pain in the arse. The guys were about to come and push me and it finally started

^^ I agree with sir kevington! Mine was slammed and although looked good, it wasn't a nice drive on B roads. I had to raise mine quite a bit for my trip round europe (getting on/off ferries, mountainous roads etc) and its much better now on B roads so thats how its staying! Just need to get the tracking reset as it was set for when the car was slammed so its out now.

Mines had this problem since i bought the car, went away for a bit but has recently come back, pain in the bloody arse it is. WD40 does the trick for a while but i havent been bothered to actually sort it out yet  With mine i tend to put the key in and turn the ignition on and wait for a few second before turning it over, seems to do the trick most the time, gives it time to read the chip in the key i believe :?

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: I want MY engine bay to look like that!! Its going to be ages though as need a job, then need to save! :(

Cant beat good old brake cleaner for stains, been using it on carpet stains for years. Stinks at first but it evaporates so doesnt last long, and it gets pretty much anything out! Failing that the best thing is a vax of some sort as mentioned, they work really well.

2.8

UDS is better than SRP for finish but if you are planning on using EGP then it wont bond to it and you will just wipe it straight off again so best using a wax after UDS mate.

 thats crazy!! But hilarious too mind

seen your thread mate, gutting about the rotrax!? thought they were reliable? you going to get it rebuilt? Yeah its pretty gutting :( Well they probably are reliable from new but i got mine off Coxy and he got it off ebay so who knows what past its had! I am going to strip it and see if i can figure out what wrong whilst im not working, and going to find out what price it will be to get it rebuilt. If its not totally fudged then i will get it rebuilt and put it back on, but tbh once i get a job and am earning again i think i am just going to go turbo!

Im a bit fed up of cheese and ham at the minute as been having continental breakfasts for the past 2 weeks in europe and they have quit frankly schitt cheese and ham out each morning! I need some proper cheese and ham now to rekindle my love for it

Mmmm brand new block :notworthy: Hope this one gets some good hard but safe and reliable abuse this time  And atleast you are getting it sorted quick and not having to drive round in the VR standard with low compression (ie gutless) for ages now like me :( ho hum!

I bought my car when i first started a year (and a half) work placement almost 2 years back now. Used the 2 grand from selling my old fiesta and got a small loan to pay the rest which i paid off so much each month. Then everything else i bought for the car, the suspension, the wheels, bits and bobs, renewing bushes etc etc and including the main supercharging and engine components etc i paid for with purely with my wages over the whole time spent on my placement. Went back to uni October and havent worked since, just done the odd valets and polishing jobs and with that i bought an old polo i ran and paid for doing my engine work and few bits getting my charger set up (including the all expensive 50p remap from Dave ) and ran my corrado since then. Then with the help of paid back tax money (just under a grand ) and selling my old race bike i went round europe in the rado and now i am screeeewed for money until i get a job  even more so now the fcuking charger has given up :( I have a credit card and i have used it, unfortunately its only because i had to use it to pay my tuition fees for the placement year (about £600) and i am just paying that off slowly each month as i am not earning :( Although i have a feeling once i get a job i may be using the cc a bit more to get some boost back on my car

If the coolant is getting into any cylinders you will get white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Also smell the coolant in the expansion tank, if it smells like exhaust fumes then that could be head gasket gone. Yes timing belt is same as cam belt, that will all have to come off again to change the head gasket. You dont have to change your plugs, if its been serviced recently and had them changed i wouldnt bother but if they are fairly old then there's no harm in changing them.

Im going to be putting a switch between the speed 3 fan on mine ready for mu euro trip. Can see it being rather helpful when its most likely going to be over 30 degrees 8) Also will get a SPAL when i have some spare cash, which probs wont be for a while :(
