Thanks mate 👍 Thanks mate 👍

Ha ha, I’m hoping that is the case. I’m very happy with the way the Recaros look in there, I’ve had them literally for years in the spare room and it’s great they are finally getting to get used.........I’ve sat in there a few times now making car noises 🤣

Well, the engine is in, and I’m absolutely delighted to have got to this stage, still got a load of small jobs before lift off but they are all definitely manageable, driveshafts are on, just need torqued, gear selection is a bit ropey so that’ll need looking at. I’m awaiting the correct hex so I can fill the rebuild gearbox with oil(wavetrac lsd and 5th fear swap) . Still to finish the brake pipes and the exhaust and the fuel tank/pipes but there is light at the end of the tunnel 😁 Massive thanks again to Goldie as he has done as much as me on this build, although he’ll deny it 😁

Not quite mate but I’m never in a rush anyway 😁
-
Not really although it’s yet to be connected to anything. I had to weld in an extra bolt so it could be fixed correctly, swapped the electrical connector over and trimmed the inside of the lower hidden plastic, the bit with the rear ashtray in it, but the butchery is hidden by the top section. I might have to get a bit more off as I’d like it to sit a little lower I think 😁

Got the discs mate, many thanks 😁👍 patience 🤣

Looks absolutely fantastic mate, great work 😁😎

Fitted the Mk4 handbrake, not tried it yet but it sits where the corrado one does so no reason to think it won’t be just fine
-
Not running yet, the oil pressure isn’t attached at the engine side, I just attached the battery to see if things might work 😁👍

Ok, long overdue update, lots of work on the interior at the moment, with a massive amount of help from Michael Goldie Goldsmith. Getting to the point that it’ll need to be the big ticket items going in soon, fuel tank, exhaust, engine and gearbox. This car is basically where I’m getting to put all the nice bits ( I like them anyway) I’ve bought /acquired over the years.

Hi and welcome 😁 In my experience the bodywork is the hardest part to sort if it’s rusty, mechanicals are a lot easier by comparison. Having said that after 11 years it’ll likely need new rubber bits and new fuel filter/fuel /oil/plugs etc

I do mate, pm inbound 👍

I wouldn’t mind 4 of those discs if possible mate? The joys of having 2 Corrado’s. Happy to pay 😁👍
-
I did it on my first Corrado, many years ago now, fairly sure it worked ok but I wouldn’t bet on much that I do 🤣
-
And that's why I couldn't find it as I've done away with the bias valve thingy. Well done James
-
Did you get it plated? or is that the original colour? I keep thinking seatbelt when i look at it? What size is the thread, looks fairly substancial
-
Ok mate, I’ll look again 😁👍
-
Could the first one be the middle part of the height adjustment on the front seatbelts? Not sure how far you stripped it?

I think that it’s the master cylinder itself that is shorter. I can’t actually remember where this information came from, far too much late night reading. Also unsure how much actual extra room it will give. This is similar to the one I have bought. Can’t measure though until it arrives. Im still a bit away from the engine going in so I can’t even help yet regarding the rubber boot. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184175834623 That is a lot more than I paid. There used to be a guy on eBay who sold these but he’s no longer listing them
-
Ooft, that is tight, I’m heading in that exact direction plus the Shrick, no idea if it’ll all fit ok? I have an early rubber inlet that is flexible so I’m hoping that I might get away with it. I’m sure I’ve read about an Ibiza master cylinder that is shorter, in fact I’m sure I’ve bought one but I’ve yet to receive it due to lockdown.

Remember there is a screw in the speaker recess, you’ll need to look up from the bottom to see it
