hi cralstc. good to see there is some VW interest in Dubai. I have been out twice now with work but have only seen one rado and it wasn't yours cos it was red! Was all your first video shot nr Jumeirah Beach? Are there a few rados around? Not sure when I'll next be out there but I'll keep my eyes open - your rado looks lovely.

what vr6 isn't?!!!

 sorry Bill! I do at least wait for the engine to warm up a bit first... but it does sound so good!

sounds like you've already made a decision but another vote for the BMC... also currently without the cold air feed. I'm really quite chuffed with it. My only problem is that my mpg has gone down - I can't resist getting the revs up to hear it do it's stuff... :D

I bought one of these from ebay a while ago and I'm very pleased with it. Just a shame it's early spec :D
-
Another one bites the dust... - Sod the cost, i need a rado.

 I'm gutted for you. Would be devastated if that was mine. Best of luck with claim. Far too many going lately -
I'm not surprised with that username  Hope you got it sorted...

yes I've taken advantage of this too. Except I've been 3 times so far... -
thanks Rob. My present was a BMC (got fitted last weekend and very chuffed) and I'm just off out so it can sing to me lol. I'm just about to rent a garage for my C too. All is good! sorry chrishill, for a bit :offtopic1: !! edit: thanks Tom!

a few days ago now but many thanks to ChrisP for the BMC. Even met me so I didn't have to get lost around housing estates in Reading! Needless to say, I'm rather pleased with the BMC...

welcome and good luck finding a rado to suit. Never driven a TT but I hope you enjoy C ownership as much as the rest of us do! nice pic...

glad you've seen the light  I am a total Porsche fan and wouldn't complain at owning any model (although if I was given a Cayenne, I'd sell it to buy a 911 lol). I've only driven std Boxsters and I have to say I much preferred the Cayman but your mate's car sounds like loads of fun. Nice one - will he let you drive?!

ISV problem - Now just a stalling in general problem!
scarlet_vr6 replied to mic_VR's topic in Engine Bay
thread hijack!! mine has just started doing this too but only sometimes and usually when warm. I'll start with cleaning the ISV, but like mic_VR, I'd appreciate any other advice. My old Polo used to do this and it was cured when I had the leads, plugs and fuel filter replaced. Think my C had all of this last September though... I'll have to look through my svc history to check -
anyone seen a corrado with no front splitter?
scarlet_vr6 replied to VR6*MarkOfTheBeast*'s topic in Exterior
yes I know all about that when I completely shattered it a while back. Looks bloody awful. don't even think about it! you can see it on my blackberry C in the 3rd pic of page 19 in this thread... -
that looks absolutely spot on! Nice sly picture of the BMC there too...

I had to sort my insurance recently and the best 3 quotes I got were from HIC, A-Plan and Brentacre. My renewal was £695 and ended up paying £420 with Brentacre. As mentioned on here several times before, John is a nice guy, who is happy to have a chat about Cs as well as give a great quote! However, A-Plan in Basingstoke gave me a very reasonable quote as well, beating HIC. Make sure you ask for Andy and mention CF. He promised to do his best for us in return for a mention on here. Thought it might be worth a try... 01256 355641

replaced the coilpack tonight with my bargain replacement and life is oh-so-sweet! Only have the slightest of hesitation now when pulling away so I've bought some injector cleaner and we'll see what happens. Feeling ridiculously pleased with myself for changing the coilpack on my own. It took me about 15 mins. Bit pathetic really cos I know it's not exactly a difficult job but aside from usual water/oil checks, it's the first work I've done by myself. So I went out for a short drive. My reward? Seeing 2 other Cs and getting a wave from each!

Did you, i thought it was Storm.... yep you're right! It was Storm... I'll use the time of my post as my excuse!

fitted a BMC CDA at the weekend and took a work colleague for a drive today. Even though I now have some serious idling (read 'stalling') issues, I got told it sounds more like a V8. lol, I wish but still pretty chuffed!

I went to Stealth at lunchtime today and there are no faults stored on VAG-COM. I did manage to pick up a used coilpack for £20 though with 60 day warranty. Just need to fit it (hopefully tomorrow night) and see what difference, if any, that makes...

thanks for info guys. dr_mat, your comment about it readjusting automatically is very interesting. I got stuck in traffic this morning at the end of a 45 min drive and had to wait a further 45 mins in a queue. After that, it was running fine, well back to the coilpack misfire , but this evening it was back to needing loads of revs and hesitating for the first 20 mins or so. Does this mean the ECU is now forgetting everything as soon as I take the keys out of the ignition until I get the fault code deleted? Is this possible or is there a new problem to worry about?! Tekara, depending on replies to the above, I may just pop into Storm Devs one lunchtime (I work next door) and see if they will delete this code. Offer is very much appreciated though and I might be over yet! Thanks again.

well whilst fitting my BMC at the weekend and (due to a slight oversight ) I disconnected the MAF with the keys in the ignition. The car now runs really badly - hesitating, lumpy and have to rev loads under load. It's pretty much ok once the revs are up and I think any probs here are due to needing a new coilpack. I'm 99% sure that the keys weren't turned at all when I disconnected the MAF, just in the ignition barrel. Do I need to reset the engine ECU to sort this out? I've looked at the wiki but have a few qs now... do I def need VAG-COM? yes, I've read the sentence in bold (!) but the first paragraph implies that the basic setting is only needed if the battery is disconnected. If I disconnect just the engine ecu, can I get away without needing VAG-COM? I guess not but I'm hoping... If I do need it, do I need the full version? I've been looking at Ross Tech's website and wondered if I could get away with just the shareware version? Finally, if I do need the full version, does anyone have it in the Hampshire/Berkshire area and fancy helping me out  Any help much appreciated!

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
scarlet_vr6 replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
(yesterday) oil change, replaced oil filter, fitted clear repeaters, FK badgeless grille, BMC CDA, carpet mats instead of horrible rubber ones, changed gear pattern from gearknob with torn leather to one with good leather, cleaned and fed gaitor and steering wheel, diagnosed oil leak, diagnosed misfire. With a lot of help! -
