Bump. Still looking for something closer to home if possible?
-
Condition and colour/material not important. It's to use in the car while it's in the paintshop as the interior will be removed for re-trimming. Collection no problem but as close to M1 J30 as possible. Thanks
-
I'll take it off you for £25. I can collect but not until the weekend as I'm working away, PM me your details and we can fix something up. Cheers

No oil leak, it's dry where she parks. It's OK while you're accelerating but as soon as you lift off it whines and tightens up, sounds like maybe the diff. Last time it was main shaft bearings collapsed. Going to get it recovered to the garage and let them have a look as I'm offshore the next two weeks so no chance getting a look at it. Cars are always expensive aren't they, just by varying degrees!

Don't talk to me about Lupos, daughter's lunched it's gearbox for the second time yesterday, dad puts hand in pocket again!

Nobody seems to have answered this at the time. I just removed the original lambda sensor from my 95 VR6 part number 021 906 265 E and replaced it with 021 906 265 AK . The OBD2 ECU had kept throwing up a lambda fault code before swapping and is now fault free on VagCom. It was £138.47 from TPS after 10% discount.

Started it for the first time since April 2011......bit rattly at first, power steering pump whining etc but all quietened after about ten minutes. Result!!!

I live in north Derbyshire and work in Dinnington so am an almost daily driver in South Yorks!

Blackpool Tesco earlier in the week. Deep red, Bordeaux Pearl maybe, it did have a tow bar though. Didn't see who was driving and I was following in my Freelander so didn't flash or wave!

This morning I had been expecting that by the end of today I would write that I had started the engine for the first time in almost two and a half years but I will have to be happy with "tried to start the engine"! I did however get my new short shift (daves16v) gear lever fitted along with a fuel filter, oil filter, oil, coolant and power steering fluid all before I found that the fuel pump has died. Recently I have had the Koni coilover dampers refurbished, bought loads of new parts ready for a final push at getting it back on it's wheels and am now just waiting for koni to make me a pair of front springs.....currently ordered early December and promised for the end of February, after which the rest of the front end can bolt together and it can head for the body shop! All in small steps though, soon I will write that I started the engine for the first time in almost two and a half years!

Did the fuel pump sell, I'd be interested if not? Thanks -
Damn, missed it by minutes! Dibs if by any chance Tony backs out. If not, did you buy it recently, I want a new one for mine and can't seem to find anyone sells them these days? Thanks

What's everyone's favorite brand of hand tools?
tonedef replied to Erallus's topic in General Car Chat
Mostly Snap On from when I worked for a rally team and got the habit of entering "the van" when it arrived every Wednesday! Plus a fair amount of Teng, Facom, Britool and Halfords Pro thrown in for good measure. The Halfords stuff really is good quality for sensible money plus they have no problem with swapping stuff when it does break, rather like Snap On but without the eye watering price tag. -
I bought 20L from TPS on Friday. Just checked the invoice to confirm it's only called Synta 10W40 now........also spotted that it was on at a special 31.99 + VAT for three days ending Friday....result!

Took me two years to find grey leather recaros and then I paid no far short of this just for the front seats, they're rarer than rare. GLWS

Tyres again. Don't know what's changed with tyres in recent years but I get uneven wear on the inner edge of the rears on the TT and have to swap them, few guys in work over the last couple of years have had the same thing? Surprised the garage didn't diagnose it straight away, mine did when I mentioned a droning noise from the rear that obviously wasn't bearings.

How to fit / wire / install obd2
tonedef replied to C488ADO's topic in [Archive] Wiki Submissions & Collaboration
I'm not sure if this will help but it's Passat wiring diag I used when first fitting my climatronic and then again when I was doing the OBD2 conversion. On page 7/9 there's the fans (V7), pump (V50) and fan controller (J293) along with details of which pins and plugs everything should be connected to. I generally tend to ignore the colours but simply check that the routing of the wires is correct, seems that the Aux Pump should be connected to pin T10/1 of the fan controller (see sheet 9/9 for pinout) by a possibly red/black wire via plug T2. Unfortunately when I was scanning the diagrams I was concentrating on climatronic and didn't get the other sheets including the actual pump. passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf -
I'm sorry but that must have been my third or forth attempt at one!

I'll take the ABS ECU for the asking price please, PM me some details and I'll get a payment sorted.......Thanks!

I've had my current one almost 13 years now, bought three cars in that time that were intended to replace it, sold them all, still have the Corrado, nuff said!

I work between Win Xp and Win 7 but have an iMac for my home computer. The Mac wins hands down! Bought a MacBook Air yesterday for my daughter who is starting university this September. If you know a student there are some good savings to be had; 11" MBA with 128 Gb SSD, 8Gb Ram upgrade, 3 years Apple Care contract reduced from £1206 to £915 when bought on line through the Apple Store as a student.....seemed like a decent deal to me
