Not sure about the disconnected pipe other than I looks like a vacuum pipe.... not sure where it should be connected to. The ISV is the cylindical thing in front of the distributor (to the right of your inlet manifold in your pic) with the flexi hose attached to the inlet pipe on the left side of your pic. Best thing to do is take it off, soak it in petrol over night (can spray it with carb cleaner if you like but heard it can wreck the seals in it over time), clean it off and give it a coating of WD40 to help lube :camp: it up. Re-install. Hope this helps mate.

That is awesome! I'll be watching this thread with intent now. Very very 8)

Well leads should be changed every 2 years according to the corrado service schedule, and plugs probably. I've never changed mine (2 year, 18000miles) and I'm currently getting funny running issues so I'm going to change them over the weekend, although I think mine is a combination of think TBH. Ah the wonderful world of the corrado!

Its just the engine trying to overcome the gearing. The juddering means you're probably using to high a gear for the engine speed, mine does it but the clutch is fine. Get up to 30mph, put it in 5th and stove ya foot on the gas. If the revs shoot up but you don't go anywhere then a good sign your clutch is slipping, if it just digs in and starts accelerating slowly then it's fine.

Welcome mate, looks very well. White is the new black at the moment. 8) I'd have a look at the Idle Stablisation Valve for the cure to your cold start problem, I'd had it before on an old golf I had, and got it at the moment on my VR6.

I like to take a run up, but be careful not to do yourself a injury!

I think Chris has got it, I might whip the car over to his one night this week... and yes you can you little devil! I'm going to check the leads and coilpack over as well but I think if they were the problem it would show up under load rather than at idle (although while I think about it did feel pretty underpowered yesterday as well...)

Ah. Bum. :( I've cleaned/checked the MAF and ISV, both appear to be working ok. And I've changed the Blue temp sensor, twice now, and still it keeps stalling on me... I'm out of ideas really...

Next purchase is going to be, PCV valve which has broken and think that might be causing the stalling (breather open to atmosphere at the moment so engine losing pressure??) and some leads, oil, filters etc to give it a good service.... You'll have to wait and see what the next BIG purchase is after Christmas!

Well today I decided to go to the BMF rally at the east of england showground, probably about 45 miles eachway, and the damn car just kept dying all the time.... guess it's time to spend some more money on it ... :brickwall: On a lighter note, I've seen exactly me next motoring purchase.... this time next year though as wedding to pay for at the moment.

Nice one mate, I'll be ordering from your site soon for everything needed for an oil change. :D
-
Cheers Guy, any particular Motul one you recommend off your site? Mic

Is the overall size a legal standard requirement or could you get a normal legal plate made up and trim off the excess border to make it physically smaller? That way the characters would still retain legal size and spacing...... just a thought......

Wicked, I was just thinking about my up coming oil change. Details as requested Make - VW Model - Corrado Year - 1994 Engine size/type - 2.9 V6 (Currently 135,000 miles on the clock) Any mods - 263 Cams (coming soon) Type of use - Fast road (small amount of Track use) Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used) - Currently the oil temp never gets over about 106 degC, although sometimes it seems to run a little cold on the oil side (about 84 degC even on the motorway). Current oil is 5w-40 fully synth Halfrauds (silver bottle) A recommendation for engine oil please? :notworthy:

isn't that what the beige boy wonder was running on the badcrumble?

My car dips the revs when you start to lift the clutch and pull away, I just give it more gas mate! It won't be the clutch.

Another car that'll be showing me up at stanford! Looking beautiful as usual Dave. :notworthy:

Stu, Just shown Mr Greenys camo pic to Amy and she says that if you don't do it to Gooney she'll be doing it to the mk5!

Nice one mate, I keep joking with my fiance that we'll be using my C for our wedding next year! She's not happy about it....

Well without giving too much away, I've got some 16x6.5J wheels sat in my shed that I was thinking of using as trackday wheels. Which I'd probably go for some 205/45's on, should be ok I think. Just wondering if I should sell them though and go for a wider wheel for more grip/improved handling? Cheers for advice so far, all valid and probably know more about these things than I do. :notworthy:

A couple of questions for all you clever folks out in corrado land, hopefully this is the right place for them. 1. What width tyres can I happily run on standard 6.5J wheels? Currently I've got 205/50's but would it make a difference to handling etc if I ran 215/45's or 225/40's?? 2. What is the best wheel width for a VR6 if I was going to be doing track days etc? Iguess I shouldn't really go too wide but if there an ideal for handling purposes? I'm looking to get another set of wheels to go with my Speedlines but can't decide whether to go wide as I want it to still handle. As usual, all help much appreciated. Mic

Love it! Well, I might well paint it like that, haven't decided yet.... :norty:  You will be my hero if you get that paint job :salute: I 100% agree, I think it looks awesome. If mine needed a respray I think I know what I'd be going for!

About 15.7sec I think.... I keep meaning to take mine down the strip but I'm not going to get the chance until Bugjam now. I'll be hoping for similar times myself.

Great pic and some good times, I assume your car is standard??
