:notworthy: Awesome, truely wish I had these kinds of engineering skills. I have one question though..... how much to make me one!
-
Check tyre pressures, if you've not changed anything geometry wise a difference in tyre pressures can make a big change to the way it pulls. I had a mk2 golf that pulled to the left all the time because the rear passenger tyre had a slow puncture.

Well more treats for the car this weekend, not that it deserves it! As I've not really got enough to worry about when out for a drive I thought I'd get myself a gauge pod so that I've got some extra things to show faults up. Purchased from xbones and I'm really impressed with them, very OEM+ and the moving needles are quite entertaining on a drive...... Anyway, PICS! 8) Before install After Install And a nice one showing the back lighting More updates next week no doubt.......

Can anyone recommend a local place thats good near cambridge? Had mine done at Cambridge Performance tyres last time and it was a complete ripoff. Sorry for thread hijack

Surely all you need now is the rear axle bushes and it'll be like it just drove out of the factory! Looking really good though mate, and if you end up not using that rear ARB can I have first refusal??

Well after much swearing from both Rob and me we managed to do the fronts fri/yesterday :D and its made a hell of a difference to the car, feels loads taughter (sp) and far less crashy of the bumps etc. Haven't really had a chance to really test it out as I need to sort the tracking and camber out as the drive home was smooth if a little scary as the car was all over the place. Was not an easy easy job, fairly straight forward but we had a few seized bolts which had to be cut and drilled out (hopefully not damaging the sub frame) and troublesome ARB bushes, but it was all good fun and must say a big thats to Rob for helping and doing the lions share of he work. :notworthy: Cheers sir! Other thing the new fronts have highlighted is just how bad the rears are, must be doing those asap now as so I think Rob and I are going to try to do ours together, maybe with a chance to get that forum rear axle bush day organised as discussed! But we'll have to start another thread about it if people are interested. 8) So next on the list is sorting tracking and camber, then rears, then brakes........... :(

Thats worryingly close to the truth.......

Sorry lads but Dinkus is right, guess it hadn't quite affected his eyesight by then, in that Rumbongo is a yellowish colour so maybe I should do the brakes a nice rumbongo gold? 8) Rob, don't worry mate I think we've got enough to do this weekend as it is! plus I've got to get some braided lines to fit them and I want some mk4 rears to fit at the same time.

More updates, spend spend spend!!! Kindly provided by BigpantsBaby, 288 brakes. 8) Hopefully these beauties will sure up the stopping power a bit but the big choice now is what colour to refurb them in! decisions decisions.... PIC!

Cheers Gav, nice response and a good tip about the number plate. I'm only in Cambridge so Kent isn't too far for me, I think I'll have to get on these mailing lists and see what offers they have. Basically so far I think the general price for a day (open pit lane format) is about £99 per car/driver, but this goes up to about £199 for the more popular circuits. Interestingly my nearest track, Snetterton, do a evening session which sounds pretty good but not for me and my crap corrado lighting! Actually organising a forum track day looks like it'll be a bit of a nightmare, especially as I've never been on a track myself, I can see how it didn't end up happening last time. If people fancy doing a one, maybe not Corrado specific, maybe we could organise to book it between us on the same day and just meet up before hand?
-
Silverstone would be awesome, and pretty near me as well. Do you think they'd do us a deal if we could get enough people interested?
-
And there it is! thanks Jon, I knew the first reply was too serious
-
I think I'll still have a go on a trackday here in blighty but having had a chat with Jon and the replies on here, plus a quick search on youtube and I think the ring needs more than a few goes on a normal track. But I'd still like to see how good my car really is, I don't think I'll ever pushed my car anywhere near its limit

Some good ideas there gents, except Stoney who's just showing off! wish I had a mate with a race car..... I'll have a look into Bruntingthorpe and Mallory Park as I they are both pretty close to me. Always wanted to go to Castle Combe but unfortunately to far for me to travel. I know people often have problems getting 'interested' parties into actually committing to these things, but as yorkshireone says with a few people going to the 'ring in sept and no doubt not being able to resist a quick blast round the famous track maybe we could organise some kind of meet up? Guess we'll see if many reply to this thread and in the meantime I'll try to get a bit more info.

I'm 26 with full no claims (8 years now). Car is keep on the street, city centre etc and I was expecting more. It is pretty much standard though so not sure how much difference that makes...

Anyone know if there is a specific corrado track day? Or if anyone has organised one before? I quite fancy giving the VR a blast in a controlled environment (ok, semi-controlled  ) but I don't fancy going to one of these complete free-for-alls until I've at least had a couple of goes as I've heard plenty of horror stories about people turning up to these open events and just driving like tw@ts and ruining it for everyone else (obviously I could be wrong). I'm off to the Nurburgring on september with the other corrado guys and would like to have at least one go in my car on a track so I know kind of what the car will/won't do. Anyone got any ideas?

How to get running again (first pics for 7 years!)
mic_VR replied to vwdeviant's topic in Members Gallery
OMG a square is definitely on the cards for me once i've got a bit of garage space. In all seriousness mate I think that if you can, keep it. Its obviously not a big issue for you as you've not seen it in 2 years. Just get it restored a little bit at a time, as already suggested, and then enjoy it. Then you can leave the T3's to me! -

 Well basically he had a type 3 notchback, one of the Coolest cars vw ever made, and he sold it. I'm still a little angry about it to this day..... but then if you think a corrado is expensive to repair/run on a daily basis then get yourself an original type 3 and know the meaning of financial pain so I understand why it had to go.... still not happy..... -

Keep it! You've already had and got rid of some of my fave VW's of all time, if you sell this as well I think I'll have to come round and beat you. You're lucky I'm still talking to you after the ''Notch'' incident...... -
mate its looking awesome, and I'll definitely be interested in seeing how the rear beam turns out as I'll be doing that myself in a few weeks. Glad its all getting sorted. 8) 8)

I believe the exhaust travels the same route on all Corrado's and you should be able to buy later hanger brackets direct from VAG. They just bolt onto the floor plan....... but I'm sure someone will confirm Do it!
-
Good stuff mate, I've PM'd you. Of course I'll be over to help with yours, or you could get all the parts in and we'll have it sorted after mine, we'll be on a roll by that point as well!!
-
Well you've already got a VR so surely you'll be safe to drive another one?? :? :)

Goldie, are you going to the rolling road day in April mate? If so I'm happy for you to take it out for a spin, see what you think. Toad, good idea on the power steering bushes. I'll try to get on to that as well. Same offer to you if you want to go out for a spin in it at the RR day. My car is gonna be like some kind of corrado hussy!
