  1. How about a Silky Pro corrado package - ie: oil + filter for the different models. I need to do a full service on mine soon so buying everything from the same place would be good. 8)
  2. Happy birthday mate, hope you have a great day. Cake is awesome, any chance of putting a slice up in the for sale section?
  3. Before the mods get here I'd suggest the search function, this is a common problem on the VR6. Possible issues are - dodgy ISV, MAF, blue temp sender, cracked/split air intake, fuel pressure reg, fuel pump, Lambda etc etc..... you'll find loads of posts on this.
  4. Nice link mate, I've been thinking of using these myself but hadn't got around to it yet. Good to here it's all good stuff. Did you ring them or order online?
  5. Happy birthday mate. Progress looking good so far! :D
  6. Have you tried searching for similar topics?
  7. Having driven both a new and old CTR and a LCR I have to say that I was most impressed with the LCR, thats the one i'd have. But I wouldn't change the VR for either of them and I think the key for me is that the Corrado actually has a soul. It's different to everything else you see on the road, it's got that great growl from the 6-pot and, as people like Kev have proved, you can use the money from a LCR/CTR to buy a good VR6, do the chains/suspension/brakes and whack a turbo on it running fairly low/safe boost and you're got a 350bhp daily that's one of the best handling front wheel drive cars ever made. Plus you'll still have some change to buy your missus something nice to keep her sweet!
  8. Just thought I'd give an update on my Techtonics Tuning 2.5inch straight through 'zorst with Dual borla's. Having had it on the car for the past 6 months all I can say is that it has been excellent! No knocking, banging, and nice and shiney (for those that care about that kind of stuff). Best bit is the noise, nice deep burble at idle rising to a throaty roar if you put your foot down (IMO sounds best at 2000rpm) but if you back off, ie cruising at 70mph, it is stock quiet! very very 8) I'm sure most of those that have heard it or been in the car will vouch for it, although it's very stealthy (no flashy tailpipe) so not to everyones taste and it was pretty expensive compared to an off the shelf from Magnex/Milltek. 100% worth the price and the small hassle of getting it imported from the states but those lovely people the Schimmels made it so easy i would highly recommend that if anyone is interested in getting one you get in contact with them.
  9. Count me in mate as that's only up the road for me.... I'll talk to you about it at the Northgate meet on thursday!
  10. I'm in! Yay! I'd better sort myself out with a new bike then.... triumph street triple is my bike of choice at the mo..... Any further dicision on what bike or test you're going to do? iow_corrado_g60
  11. I agree that does look pretty good, and it does make sense that you'll be getting the best mpg and lowest costs possible. And the test can be expensive, but once it's done its done and you can still ride anything you like so a 125cc is still an option. Having ridden for longer than I've been driving I can safely say I'd never go back to something smaller than about 500cc as I like having the power on tap to get out of trouble if needs be, i'd feel just too vulnerable on something small. But everyone's different, mabe we should organise a Corrado forum bike meet?
  12. Man up and do your real test (direct access!) Seriously though, thats what I did. Then got a cheap Kawasaki ER-5 to travel to work on. Proper bike so your mates won't call you names, plus cheapy cheap tax, MOT and insurance. Mine always did 50mpg plus and I'd rag it quite a lot so better than most diesels on fuel. Sorted!
  13. I'm sure the offer of free rumbongo might help things along! :norty:
  14. You 2 are animals, they have feelings to you know! And the cars will care that we're not paying them enough attention. Are you doing your chains before the Karmann trip Dom? Looks like the need to book a couple of days off work and we'll do all three cars at the same time!
  15. I'll check to see when's best with them........ Oh you mean the car stuff! We need to sort out ordering the chains I guess. I'd like to look at it before the Karmann trip as I'm not sure people want to be travelling with me crunching everytime I go for 3rd. I guess in July would be best for me. Nothing really major planned that month.
  16. Cheers for the offer of sloppy seconds mate, I'm honoured! If you're going to tear apart a perfectly decent 'box why don't we just swap the spare you're got with mine and then you can wreck that. I'm going to double check that something hasn't come loose/circlip missing as I'm off work from tomorrow till tuesday so need something to keep me busy. And for your info, if you're thinking of bringing presents, my mum likes a Tia Maria but my sister is more of a vodka girl....
  17. So what's a good price for a second hand VR6 box then? I'll be keeping my eye out on here/ebay.
  18. Initially I thought the same as Kev, knackered sync on 3rd gear but it's more like it's catching on something when trying to select 3rd. All the other gears are fine and I've adjusted up the linkages so very precise for everything else. - Yeah, all clips present and correct. First its finding one, then I've not got the garage to have it sat around making it fit. Has anyone on here done it already?? Stu, do you know what vehicles the O2S is fitted to and I'll have a hunt around. I'll hold my hands up and admit I have no experience with gearboxes but David spent ages looking at it, inbetween chats with Crazydave, and like he said it's one he's never come across before. Maybe I'll give Vince a ring, see if I can pop it over to him at some point. Cheers for the advice so far guys. :notworthy:
  19. Well following discussions with a few people, especially Davidwort at stanford it would appear my gearbox could possibly have a bent selector fork which is making it difficult to find 3rd without a horrible crunching noise. As such I've been trying not to drive the car to far for fear of doing more damage, but unfortunately tuesday I had to use it for work and it is getting a lot worse. To the point that it is now almost impossible to find 3rd when the car is stationary. Is anyone on here good with gearboxes? Hopefully not too far from east anglia so I could bring the car over to you to have a look at it. OR Does anyone know of a good gearbox mechanic in the cambridge area that I can take it to as I really would rather get this sorted now, before the whole 'box eats itself. OR Should I just ctart looking for another box from somewhere? Comments/Advice as per usual, all appreciated
  20. Nice one mate, I'll see you there. And I have to say I'd keep the steelies, looks just right IMO 8)
  21. B645 between Chelveston, Northamptonshire and St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Great surface, low hedges so you can safely cross lanes in the corners, camber changes, fast straight, good scenery and some excellent pubs on route! :D If I link it with the A428 at St Neots to cambridge (new, very fast bypass) I can get from my folks place to mine with 45 mins of driving pleasure!
  22. Only 49K on the clock though mate, I was expecting you to say more actually. Got a beauty there IMO, well done sir :notworthy:
  23. Looks stunning mate, all these G60's around I'm almost tempted get one myself! :D So you going to be at the Northgate VW meet in a few weeks??
  24. All I can say is, Gorgeous. :D Do you mind me asking how much you paid for it?
  25. Damn you boost monkey, beaten to it!!! :bad-words:
