Hope this helps. :D
  2. Right just a quick update. with Christmas and new year out of the way, and me having survived the busy period at work I'm settling into another year of corrado ownership and doing some repairs! First up is all new front wishbones, ball joints and ARB drop links And also new ARB bushes and rear axle bushes Hoping to get this little lot fitting next week and should sort some of the handling issues I've been having recently, plus as they are all genuine VAG parts it should feel like it just rolled out of the factory. I'll be posting more pics as and when the work happens. 8)
  3. have you seen this may be handy for you save you having to sell yours and find some d90s http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 14&t=65605 Damn beat me to it! :(
  4. I'd have loved to of been there when that conversation was had - "trust me, baby pink will be awesome colour for a retrim!" :? Oh well Dom - maybe you could mix and match it with your current black leather.....
  5. Hello? Is that the elusive mrsbeige in person or has Stu just signed on as you so we all think you've given him permission to mod the Gooney! So since mrs badcrumble was 'actually' your car is Gooney going to 'actually' be your car with mrbeige only having visitation under your supervision??
  6. wow, that looks awesome 8) . Loving the short-runner intake, makes a change to see people making them for themselves. Can I ask what exhaust manifold you're using? I'm getting bit together myself at the moment and not sure what my exhaust manifold options are.
  7. Looks sweet as Stu, I'm looking forward to seeing it in the morning. :D
  8. Cheers for the update Rob, I've got a load of Plusgas so I'll get that on there from now until we do the job. I'm hoping to get the bushes and wishbones from VW and I'll order the rest (ball-joints and track rod ends) from GSF. If you find out which weekends are best with your folks and you then just let me know and I'll work around that. Cheers again guys. :D
  9. Can you do mine Rob? Mates rates???!!!! :D Looks awesome. :notworthy:
  10. Yeah VAG original parts would be good, i'm just a bit of a skinflint! But seriously I want to do the job right so if VAG parts means I won't be doing it again for another 129K miles I'm happy with that. Rado k, got your PM'd and all help appreciated especially if you've got the right tools as I think we've decided the whole pressing in of the bushes is the toughest job.
  11. Hey you alright Rob, not spoken to you in ages. Corrado still not right eh? Take it you'll be getting it sorted for the shows etc though. All that time not moving you must have been buffing it to a high gloss by now! I knew I'd spoken to you about the rear bushes but I'd forgotten you'd already done your fronts. Did you get all your wishbones etc from GSF? If I can get the parts I'd be really appreciative if I could come over to yours, probably bring mrbeige along for an extra pair of hands, as your setup is pretty good and garage is nice and flat. If you've got a list of things you ended up changing I'll order everything so we don't get halfway through and need a part. If your folks are ok with it just let me know when you're free and I'll get my act together! :D And as for the rears, I'm happy to give it a go. Best bet is, like joby said, to get the rear beam off and get a local garage to press the new ones in. If Mincy needs to be the test bed for the whole operation then so bit it, gotta get it done and the rear end feels all over the place on bumpy roads.
  12. My car alarm just keep going off. no idea why. Been out and unlocked, relocked the car. Checked all the doors, boot and bonnet are shut correctly and all seems fine, doesn't look like anyone has tried to get in it but it still keeps going off. Anyone got any ideas? Its raining here if that means anything.... wondered if something might have fused?? clutching really
  13. I think the worst/trickiest job on the list has to be the rear bushes. I know I've mentioned this to Herisites before, but maybe if a few people want to get them done maybe we should all club together and try to hire some garage space for the weekend and just do each car one by one over a weekend?
  14. Cheers for the offers/suggestions guys, I'm welling up here! I'm sure I could make a trip, I'd rather make the drive and do the work myself than pay so dodgy garage. Haha it is like a mirror except colour, although I think yours is a little neater than mine after I had a chance to have a closer look when you were parked in the garage in Newport one day. Mine just hides i well! :) I've often thought about hiring a garage or something, and you can get them in the city centre but unfortunately its luck of the draw and hardly any of them have power so not really an option for me at the moment. Out where you are you might have more luck. Cheers mate, sounds like you're got a pretty good setup there. Time is my main issue is time as well. I really need to sort out what is most urgent (probably rear bushes) and sorting a suitable time. When I need a hand I'll be sure to let you know. mrbeige, as always your help is much appreciate but I know you've already got one shell on the drive and the son of badcrumble coming next week so I didn't want to use up all your space and time sorting my own stuff. Although if you're sure!
  15. Right, to cut a long story short I have to do a shed load more miles these days to do my job and the corrado is starting to feel old and quite tiring to drive. I love my VR6 but its been on my mind for the last few weeks/months about selling it and getting something more modern that I can just get in and drive day in day out. I've thought about getting a 2nd car and storing the C but unfortunately a lack of garage and more a lack of money means its only one car for me :( So with that in mind I have been building myself up to sell the C and get something 'sensible'........... That was until today, been using a mk5 golf TSi for the last week or so as been picking up colleagues and generally carrying loads of files around to clients etc it is a really good car, nice and smooth/quiet etc but that went back this afternoon and I drove the C home down about 20 miles of A and B roads. And the is such a good car, awesome in fact, in a completely different league to the golf. I LOVE my C and my final decision is that it is going nowhere. :D Only problem with this plan is that I still need to sort certain things so that I can use it everyday, and some need sorting fairly quickly. And thats where you beautiful people come in! :D The minimum I need to sort so that I can continue using it everyday is:- Rear axle bushes, all front bushes, rocker cover gasket, all engine mounts, tappet replacement (not sure if worth doing without going on to do the chains and clutch etc at the same time), I've got some kind of issue regard the steering but not sure what (i'll start another thread later), fuel pump is on its way, fuel pressure regulator replacement and more smaller jobs that I'll be sorting as and when. I'm happy to attempt any job on my car but I'm lacking 2 main things - tools and space. So basically I'm after anyone who is able to help by offering space, experience, specialist tools that could help me. I'm willing to provide beer/food/my own help on jobs that they need doing to their own cars. obviously i'm happy to drive although closer to me, Cambridgeshire, is better from my point of view. Anyone able to help/offer me some advise on where to start etc??? All help mcuh appreciated. Michael p.s. sorry for the war and peace esc post and any mods who think this should be elsewhere, please move.
  16. Right, cheers for all the help guys. Most things suggested I've already done (100% my fault for not wording my question very well) like i've got new disks and pads all round, Brembo fronts with mintex pads and standard rear disks and pads from VAG. Whilst I was doing them i did try to clean everything up suitably, wire brush to the calipers/carriers etc and cleaned up the carrier pins. But going by what you guys have said I might have made a slight error in the fact that when cleaning up the pins I didn't necessarily put them back in the right spaces :( ......... how vital is that? Judging by what you've all said I think I'm going to take the whole lot off again and do the job properly, painting caliper etc etc and replacing seals in the pistons. Do you know if I can get all the seals, pin refurb kits from VAG still or do GSF do full kits. And anyone got a good method for cleaning up all caliper and carriers, not involving sand blasting because I'm a cheapskate and don't have anywhere round here that'll do it for me.
  17. Evenin' all At the moment my brakes are frankly shocking, really noisey and not getting even wear on the disks/pads. Basically they need a good refurb, front and rear which I'm happy to try and do myself but just wondering if anyone has done it themselves? how hard is it? can I get the parts straight from the stealers etc etc???? As usual, any help mucho appreciated guys 'n gals. :D
  18. Personally I think the top one, but both look good. Loving the photo as a whole though, brilliant back drop. 8)
  19. I can't wait to see it mate, glad to see you're still on the corrado band wagon.
  20. Any mayo in the oil filler cap? steam out of the exhaust when gunning it? these are the other things I'd check if you're worried about the head gasket. If you do end up needing a hand though mate just let me know. I'm sure collectively we'll have it sussed in under a day. :D
  21. Supercharged is based near Ipswich and I'm based in cambridge so don't mind popping round to help. Not done one on a G before but done one on a 1.8 8v golf so can't be too bad..... can it?
  22. Not liking the wheels Dom........ Loving them! Must say I've thought for ages that those look awesome on the C but first I've seen on a silver car and they really suit. Lovely Rimmage!
  23. Well unfortunately this is a subject that I have recently changed my mind about. Firstly the good service, can highly recommend Northgate VW in Bury st Edmunds. Been really good with me in the past and now well worth the 45min round trip from Cambridge just to avoid the frankly terrible service I've been getting recently from Vindis Group which is my local VW. Now that hasn't always been the case, in particular the Milton road branch in cambridge used to be very good for parts and always were really helpful if I needed parts quickly. But in recent times they've not been get the right parts in, in the time promised, or even sometimes just not even knowing where to find parts on the etka diagrams without me almost showing them myself! Then the actual service you get, not the most welcoming to say the least! But the worst by far had to be when my girlfriend brought a mk5 golf TDi from the St ives branch, she's always wanted a golf and was really happy when she finally had the money to get one and we decided to go to the st ives branch as they had one in the right colour spec etc. Now originally we went along together to have a look but all subsequent visits my girlfriend had to go alone as I have to work long hours, and basically everytime she came back she was really upset with the service she'd had and one time she had decided not to buy the car as she couldn't face going back. So I went with her and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting one of the most arrogant and unlikeable salesmen in my life, to the point at which he actually called my girlfriend a liar to my face and I could have smacked him there and then. Basically I refused to deal with the guy and lucky for us I happen to know a couple of other members of staff high up in the Vindis group and we were able to get the car without dealing with him again. We wrote a letter to VW so they know what kind of associates they have (I know vindis is a franchise but its still VW's image) and I also spoke to Vindis themselves so I also know the guy was eventually let go from his position, although only after he did it again. But to this day we have never, ever, received a followup call or apology for his actions from VW or Vindis. It disturbs me sometimes that a company the size of VW, who don't sell exactly cheap cars, aren't able to follow up on things like this. I will never even consider going back there again and I have to say good luck to anyone that does. Its a shame really that someone felt that it was ok to treat another person in the way we were treated. If I treated a client of my company like that I would have been sacked instantly. Sorry for the war & peace esc essay, just got writing! Oh and by the way, I'm an accountant so was dressed very smart.
  24. Sounds like he's just trying it on tbh, sold as seen and tell him you've been more than reasonable by a) waiting and not selling it when someone offered you Full price, and b) offering money off or a fresh MOT. Unless he's a friend and you're planning on seeing him again in a social manner and want to be nice to him, I think you've been nice enough already and he needs to be told to go jump if he wants money back. Hasn't he ever purchased a 2nd hand car before! :?
  25. Don't, you'll make me blush. It think it just goes to show that you don't have to have the biggest power, biggest budget and more importantly the biggest body kit to improve a car. Shame some of these young boy racers in their Corsa's don't take a leaf out of your book. Looks really clean to me, especially for a white car, only problem with your car is that it makes me see all the little blemishes on my own! Do you know if there is a thread going on for that worcester meet?
