    Temp Insurance

I did think about that. The few temp insurance companies online seem to be around the £200 mark for 14 days cover.... my renewal with HIC is only £290!

    Temp Insurance

Afternoon all Anyone got any suggestions for Temporary insurances? Basically the car has been off the road for a few months and I'm planning to take in to VW festival next weekend.... but then I'll be taking it off the road again to do a bit of a winter refurb. I don't really want to pay for a full year of insurance to use it for 4/5 days then tuck it back up in the garage. Suggestions welcome
  3. If that's the case you'll be fine. Wendy only tootles along at 40mph so you'll be getting awesome MPG!
  4. That's a little harsh..... I have friends.... honest....
  5. It's stuff like this that adds to me contemplating sacking off the rado and getting something else. All the mainstream companies either charge a fortune or won't touch a classic/modified car. So we end up going to brokers and getting a reasonable deal but from Mr Dodgy in Gibraltar, who's not regulated, and then goes bust/doesn't pay out in a claim. I'm going to get a new polo, go to directline, and not have to worry about it.
  6. You must have the patience of a saint! Never seem to shy away from a corrado task. Good on ya!
  7. Looks very well, welcome back!
  8. Gorgeous car. Really wish mine was a 10th as good as this. Great work
  9. Mate, I think there's a complete car in Cambridge up for £400 at the moment. I'll try to find the details if you're interested
  10. This was tempting me in.... until you lot forced the price up!!!!
  11. Currently putting an extension on my house, could've purchased many many corrado's for the cost.... ... And as an added bonus, all the building materials in front of the garage has meant I've not been near Mincy, which has improved my mood towards the car no end!
  12. I'm not the person to talk to about where to draw the line..... I'm not sure there is one! Good attitude though. Get it running and enjoy. Leave it be for a while and hopefully it'll be good as good for you.
  13. I've had this thought on many occasions, but I've never come up with a suitable replacement... so it now sits in the garage and I stop thinking about it until the sun comes out! EJ, buying a house makes running a Corrado seem cheap believe me. You're very lucky if the missus is still happy for you to spend money on your hobby. I remember a complete financial lock down whilst the wife and I saved for our first house. Worth it though in hindsight
  14. Sell it then. But is it the Corrado? Or is it your nature to be the kind of person who (maybe not all the time - see above) generally enjoys tinkering with/modifying cars and to be honest no matter what you drove you're likely to be taking it to pieces? I know, me personally, like having something I can still spanner on. And even if I did sell the Corrado I'd still be trying to work on whatever I replaced it with. IMO
  15. Awesome. Looking forward to catching up. .... Be good to see everyone else as well, I guess.
  16. Forgot that part. Friday morning I'll be heading up mate. You?
  17. Excellent. I'm still planning to be there for 12ish if you still need a hand mate.
  18. Did we need to book club camping or just normal?
