So about 3months in and..............I feel like selling. Nothing particular wrong but I just don't have time or inclination to look after two older cars right now. The Rs4 is going nowhere so it would have to be the Corrado. Maybe its the time of year, lack of daylight etc etc but I just feel that Id rather have something like a Mk5 Gti right now, it would suit me much better. The car itself is great, run fine etc etc so it has to be something else.

Been using mine all week, its filthy. -
Whats the spec on the Borbets i.e. width and offset?
-
Longer ago than that I sold the VRT. I got a silver std VR for about 4 years then sold it and had a 18month break with some other interesting beats inbetween. Came back late last year and wanted something stdish to just have some fun and drive. Got my RS4 for all out blasts.

Howdoo, anything in particular that's needing attention?
-
Howdoo, £4k should get you a decent car. Depends if your more focused on good mechanicals or good bodywork. They all have there pro's and cons's. 16v is a safer bet over G60 but a well looked after G60 should be good. Depends on your mileage. Good choice on the T5, got one myself 6 months ago and one of the best things Ive bought.

Rear shocks definitely gone?
-
If you weren't so far away Id probably have bought this to run as a daily.
-
Rip the alarm stuff out if you don't need it. They are pointless these days IMO and cause so much hassle and grief.
-
Im most likely getting some coilovers after the new year and will be selling my H&R's if you can wait.
-
The 24v engines have a lot lower down torque so the std box might actually suit it well. A lower FD is good, depends what your going to use it for? Track etc or fast road?
-
Yeah Ive seen them, they are actually chrome effect VW ones that are on at the moment and I prefer the lighter centre caps. Ideally a set of the RC chrome ones but there like hens teeth now.
-
Heres the quick refurb photos. Needs dropped a little more IMO.
-
Yeah I had them on my last VR6 and they were fine. Trying not to spend to much more on this one so they will suit it for what I need. I have KW1's on my other car and have to admit they have been brilliant.

Where best place to get these at the moment? DPM Performance is the cheapest I can find @ £355 all in.

Hope you have a healthy budget, they are just going for silly amounts now. Was close to buying one last year or an RS2 that came up but then I bought the 911. Wish I had gone for the Lancia or RS2 now, lol.

Did you pull the plugs and what state are they in? Do you have an A/F gauge set up? If not it would be worth as it means you can keep an eye on the car in real time.

Easiest way is to weigh everything before fitting then weigh the old stuff when you take it off.

What size are the discs that come with the package? Is there a given weight as well for discs + caliper? I would suspect the will be lighter than the std set up so they should feel a lot better. One thing with the 288mm change is its a much larger pad area than the 280mm so it would be worthwhile measuring the pads when you get them. I upgraded the brakes on my RS4 but the overall diameter was smaller than std, albeit 6mm. However the pads size was bigger and the overall weight saving was quite a bit so they felt much better. Well done for trying out something different, I dare say with good results other would follow.

Have you seen the price of new centre caps! Here's current caps that are okay.
-
I think Im going for as close to the original finish as possible for the refurb so was thinking of trying something different. I'll see how there looking when I get home, there not offensively bad but not that great.

So I picked up some 17in BBS RC's with tyres. They were in gloss black with silver caps and badges and I want to change colour for not by spraying them then will get them properly refurbed next spring. I tried a chrome type paint last night but it didn't really come out great when lacquer was applied, went a bit blotchy. Thoughts are either just go normal silver and run centre caps or I have some satin grey. I also have the option of using some red bbs centre caps that will fit into the wheel centres when main caps are removed. A bit like the photos. Thoughts? Silver with main centre caps, satin grey with silver main centre caps or satin grey with main caps removed and replaced with red BBS?

I had this done on mine and it took the guy 20min. They should have just tapped into existing loom so the you just reinstate the wires and remove the aftermarket alarm. Im thinking of just removing current one as well, there more hassle than there worth. Didn't think you would need an alarm up there.

I was so close to buying some 6 spokes similar to the Borbets, they look so damn good on a Corrado.
