    Mr Haywire saying to buy a Mk3 Golf. Whatever next! Highline is good. My mate has a Mk4 V5 and its a strange beasty. Sounds good but runs out of puff to early. I have the Bilstein non adj kit on mine with slight neg camber and it handles great. Much better than my old standard one.

    Good to see your looking after it. I miss my Raddo's. Whilst I like my Mk3, if my job situation changed I would be straight out to get another. The roof was always a bastard to look after and keep red.

    Dr Mat, where are you heading in Scotland? At this time of year all the good raods on the west coast are choka with tourists anyway so you wouldnt enjoy it.

    I beg to differ. But then I am biased. I used to hate 5dr but you soon get used to it. Looks isnt everything.

    Whats the point in having a car like the Corrado if you dont use it. I dont mean thrashing it everywhere but you cannot wrap them in cotton wool.

    Yep. I woudlnt care if it wasnt a Highline, just get one with the spec you want.

    There are many Golf out there that people think are Highlines but are not. The V5 will have Highline on it. They came in two colours, black and mulberry purply colour. The VR6 badges are square and they have no arch trim or sill trim. Inside you should have heated leather seats with aircon and a wooden gearknob.

    Managed to get some for £110 in pretty good nick. At least I'll still have one part of my car that is Corrado. Just got to decide what to with the BBS now. I was going to refurb them and use the Speedlines as winter wheels but they may be punted on.

    Done a search nut no conclusive answer. How much for a good set of VR6 Speedlines with good tyres?

    Do a search on the timing chain issue. There are plenty of views on the subject. I think you can tell by a rattling sound from the gearbox side of the engine. As for leather/cloth only wait if you really want the leather as the cloth is just fine.
