Arse. I hate electrical issues with an utter passion.

Probably a PCP scheme but its essentally a lease. At the end of the term you either hand back, use the equity against another new car or buy it outright for the lump sum they give you. Its a good way to get a brand new car as you generally need a small deposit and monthly payments are relatively low. The big hit is at the end of the deal.

Fuses all okay. Im thinking alarm now. Its not triggering at all and the fob LEDs are showing there working okay.

Not yet, was going to do that when I get time. Thanks, Ive looked up the bypass thing already, just need to get it home then I can worry about it as have other cars to use.

Okay having never had an ignition switch issue any of my previous Corrado's I may have finally had one. Drove the car to work this morning, no issue etc. In fact Iv never had a problem starting. Went out at lunch and tried to start but noticed that the dash lights did not come on however all the various relay, cliking noises were apparent as normal. Everything else is fine but car didnt even try to turn over. I replaced the ecu relay as I carry a spare but still nothing. So there I am swearing about the switch and tried to activate the alarm however nothing happened. I dont use the alarm but it always works when I hit the button by accident (Cobra original alarm). I have my spare keys so tried that fob and same. Im now in doubt as to whether its the alarm or ign switch now. Would the lack of dash ignition lights and ABS lights happen with dodgy ign switch or am I looking at alarm? Either way its stuck and going no where for the first time in my life I may be looking at not being able to fix it and get it home.

Not a fan of the Mk7 but this looks ace. Grey is a good choice. Hope you like it. Wheels are a must change IMO, they let the car down. Couple folks at work have ordered them as well. Did you get an agreed value end of the lease? I just wonder come 2 years if the market will be flooded as there are a lot of these being bought right now.

Very nice, just back from Hungary today. Those wheels are certainly not suited to thier roads!

In the grand scheme of things its not worth a lot so the money wouldnt be a massive help however its not in the way and isnt using much money either so finding another similar silver VR might be tricky. -

Another two months and nothings changed really. Cars been out a couple of times and I gave it its 2nd wash in a year, I think, on Sunday. Didnt look dirty but it was. Some corrosion appearing on wings underneath so will treat that. Dont really have much interest in it right now if Im honest, need to to start tinkering with it to get that back i.e. dare I say it something needs to break so I have to fix it or I need to buy some weird and wonderful bits. Quick photo of it with current line up. -
Probably be up for a set of standard wings in GRP. No rust is the major appeal for me. In fact a whole front end change would be ideal to shed some weight from the boat anchor so might be worth doing a bonnet + wings deal.

Used to watch it all the time and even went to a few races. Ive not seen a single race this season though and sounds like Im not missing much.

Nice, need to get down for a look sometime.

There was a silver Vr for sale recently with these seats in it, guess it was taken for bits then.

Best time to buy. Unabused examples will start to go up IMO. I also agree regarding the IMs but worth looking into some sort of warranty. I dont have any specific advice other than go for it. I bet you could buy and run for a few years then sell for at least the same if not more than you pay. Not many cars you can do that and still have some fun in.
-
The latter would be my view.

Good point. I suppose the likes of Merc and BMW have more heritage and have been around for a lot longer than say the established VW brand. That and I suppose you could argue VW has not really been considered a premium car maker such has the other germans have either.

To play devils advoctae if you were a company why would you keep producing spares for a car that was sold in small numbers about 20years ago? They have much bigger fish to fry. They are a company, a very large company thats main aim is to make money and keep the share holders happy. There will be individuals that care about this within the orgainsation but overall its not in there interest to do this. The true enthusiasts make up very little % of car buyers now, they have to cater for the masses. I believe they might bring back the name, they brought back the Scirocco after a big gap. I for one would buy one if its good. To many people dismiss new cars these days and dont give them a chance. Remember the Corrado was once new, it couldnt have been that well appreciated when new as there werent many sold.

Thats interesting about the gears. One weaker link to overcome.

Still very interested. As close to OEM as possible for me as well. Lees angle and a slightly smaller tailpipe and I think its about there. -
