  1. What about the storage facility at Coolport though? That's not an easy fix.
  2. I see the point of having them. Its a necessary evil. Regarding the scottish thing I dont see the point in moving them a few hundred miles from safety point of view. It sounds more like a moral decision which is fine but there a lot of heartache just for a moral point of view. What they could do is charge the rest of the UK for housing them and still have the bases. It keep jobs there and an extra source of income but the SNP have set thier stance that they must go within 4 years. The issue here is that if they are to be moved there may be no proper place to house them which could result in the UK eventually giving them up and thus coming out of the nuclear alliance. That would result in a lot of lost politcal power. As said before the way to look at them is like any other armament, they are to be used but as a last resort and you use them as part of that negotiation to aviod using them. If that makes sense.
  3. Very nice, almost bought one of these lately but head ruled heart and went with a Tdi....oh well. They seem to hold thier money which is good. Very very capable all round car. If you havent already then get the front arch liners out and remove that silly sponge, they are one of the main reasons for the rust front wings on these.
  4. A lot if I remember right. Drop the beam if your doing lines. Cutting in situ is a bit of a PITA.
  5. So it was the guy I was speaking to. Nice, I'll go see if he wants to sell some wheels... I was the same when I sold it and always will have a hankering for another but its good try different things.
  6. Looks great, I love how the discs fill the wheel centres.
  7. They do, its the dish on them. To get a good dish with that width the wheel face sits very close to the hub face therefore close to the calipers. If its front you want hubcentric and I think the minimum you can get with them is 8mm wide.
  8. First port of call will be disconnect battery. Im assuming that will stop the siren? Then I can tackle removing that.
  9. Spoke to soon, went to the car this morning and alarm wouldnt dissable. I tried reprogramming the fob but didnt work. I now cant get in the car without the alarm going off, Im in a worse position than before and to make matters worse I moved it on the drive last night so I could drive it out first. Old cars eh! Anyway alarms getting ripped out I think. Only thing I need to do is find out how to do this (i.e. only remove power line to alarm?) and first of all get it into it without alarm going off.
  10. So, 5 pages long, a few weeks later and loads of help from you guys and I was no further forward. One minute on google and its fixed lol. Did a quick search and its brings up the vid in this link - I quickly grab the keys, go out to the car in the ****ing rain and yep that right it, it works. Quickly throw the seat back in the car and assmeble enough of the dash to take it for a run. Alls good. So there you go, something simple afterall. Maybe Ill treat it to some bits now.
  11. Lol, its probably the folk who contacted me about it. I put it on the local forum Im on and its well known on there so could be coming back up then. I told them I want the wheels if they do buy it......
  12. Lol, I changed to the one on the right as I prefer that.
  13. There is and it is still on. Im all for ripping it out to be honest as I hate alarms etc. More hassle than there worth to me.
  14. I'm suprised its cracked, anyway welded is best approach as trying to get a single wheel from them is very hard. If ones not in stock to machine then you could wait years. I ended up buying two slightly narrower ones just to get me back in the road.
  15. Any other suggestions to check. I've not had time to look at it but could so this weekend. I'm thinking if tracing back the alarm and immob and removing them, will the alarm unit be the main thing or will there be a seperate immob unit. It's a cobra one, looks as old as the car.
  16. Awesome car, loved it when I had it and a very good price. There's an M5 that goes about Aberdeen with a loud exhaust and it sounds brilliant.
  17. Dunno, knowing the spec you'd be hard pushed to get a better Corrado IMO. In fact looking at it I think I would pay that as it would be a keeper for sure and you sure as hell wouldnt get one for that spec by building it. Im the same as Kev though i.e. I couldnt its too good a car for me to own as Id just be out driving it all the time.
  18. Aye min. How many would that have been now? Some decent examples going about but they are starting to command higher prices, not sure there selling for that mind you. In recent years Ive more come round to getting cars that have not been touched or mucked about with as you tend to know what your starting with rather than finding hidden issues along the way.
  19. You could argue this is one of the best Corrado's in the world. I would say its worth the money.
  20. I'll definitely take the wings and splitter. Not sure when I'll be down that way to pick them up though.
